This game scares me as its after a big win. I hope the players can keep up the momentum and not lose their head as we saw against Brentford and Fulham (2nd half). If we get 7-9 points next 3 games we can start believing of things turning around.
I honestly believe that we'll play well and win. Despite everything, the home form has been good so far (shouldn't have lost vs Arsenal, even won).

Could be Ugarte over Casemiro. Need runners in the middle

Need to treat this as a revenge game and look to really batter them in the first 20 minutes.

They're a good team, but with our confidence up and playing at home there is no way we should look at anything less than 3 points from this fixture.

Don't mind if we field the same squad as Liverpool and bring on Sesko, Ugarte and Dorgu as subs after 60 minutes.

    Lammens
Yoro - De Ligt - Shaw
    Amad - Casemiro - Bruno - Dorgu
    Mbeumo - Cunha
    Sesko
I think this is the best line-up, but I wouldn't be too disappointed or surprised if Maguire starts in place of Yoro.

They’re our bogey team. But considering the fact we just won at Anfield for the first time in nine years, I’m going to go for a 2-1 win for us. Hope I don’t end up regretting this.
    We don't have bogey teams.
They have had a good run against us while we have been poor.

I’d be really happy with that 11. Agree it’s probably our best team.

    Edit: until Martinez of course.

Mitoma, Gruda, Hinshelwood, Veltman and possibly Gomez are all out injured which is not so great for us, so I imagine we'll line up

    Verbruggen
    Wieffer. Van Hecke Dunk Kadioglu
    Baleba Ayari
    Minteh Rutter De Cuyper
    Welbeck

You’re 1-0 up already since Welbeck is playing.

Watch Baleba suddenly turn back into 24/25, how did he play vs Spurs?

We drew with Spurs 2-2 back in September, I'm guessing you mean Newcastle who we beat this weekend.

He looked improved and getting back towards the levels we expect from him again, so hopefully he'll continue that trajectory next weekend!

If we can accept and embrace how difficult they are for us and play smart and simple i think we can grind out another win here.
They can pin us back as much as Pool did. But Dunk is not impossible to get something from. Cunha and Mbeumo should be able to force a mistake out of him.

Hopefully we will ride on the confidence after the victory against Liverpool and smash these. I'm so sick of Brighton winning every game, and Welbeck always scoring.

A twenty on Welbeck scoring for easy money. It is so inevitable

I really want to see a good performance. One thing that’s absolutely been the case this season is a clear improvement in our performances. If we just play well then a score draw might even be acceptable, that’s where we are at the minute. Results will start to flow if we get a team fundamentally conditioned to playing at a high level and sort out our recruitment etc.

I remember them scoring early against us a few times recently then running the game.
Hopefully we have learned our lesson not to throw the game away in the first half.

We have been good at home so I am optimistic about this one especially now with a proper goalkeeper.

Might help us that they're a possession side, we seem to do better against that opposition.

Danny, please just for once, don't score against us!
4 goals in his last 3 games. 2 against Newcastle and 2 against Chelsea.

Seems to be in good form and, since leaving, seems to have scored against us in every other game.

    It's inevitable, isn't it?

The predicted line ups needs to stop asking are you sure you want to pick 4 forwards… yes. Diallo plays RWB

I’d quite like to see us try this at home where we have more possession

    ——— Mount — Bruno
—- Shaw —Case — De Ligt

With Case just naturally pushing up into DMC
Feel like Mount and Bruno in a CM pairing will get out run and outplayed. No strength whatsoever.

Whimpering loss after a great win written all over it.

Going to the game, so hoping we can make it 3 wins in a row!

I'd bring Yoro in to the side, possibly for Dalot and play Shaw or Dorgu LWB.

Other than that, happy to play the same team that started Vs Liverpool

Genuinely don’t understand why Shaw doesn’t get to play LWB once in a while? He is the best at the club for forward and overlapping runs among our wingbacks. That way Yoro - De Ligt - Maguire could play back 3.

Must win game. Can’t keep fecking around with these types of fixtures if we want to be a serious club again.

A fair question, but Luke just doesn't have the engine he once had. It would be worth a try against a bottom feeding club to prove otherwise, but he no longer has any pace, ability to beat a man on the dribble or toughness in the tackle. But he still is a good reader of space and quick distributor of the ball.

Any kind of win against Brighton would be great. Last time beat them at home under Rangnick which says a lot.

Think he will go with same team as v Liverpool. Maguire to counter Welbeck and a press from a front three of Cunha, Mount & Bmeumo. Pity for Sesko but I don’t think he is up to it yet at this level. Possibly put Dorgu in place of Dalot.

Would love to get Martinez in for Shaw asap, would be a massive upgrade but I guess he’s not ready for this one. Maz might be available??

If we’re not a small time team then this game is enormous. Otherwise we’re just a small time whose Cup Final is a league trip to Liverpool.

Dorgu has pace and doesnt do shit going forward. I dont even need to say anything about Dalot. He shouldn't even be in the squad. If we had a decent option on the left then it makes sense to not play him there but we dont.
