For the first time this season, I feel we are winning this..been losing with these folks for ever

Brighton at home, Forest away and Spurs away are our next 3 games and from those three fixtures last season we got 0 points.

If there is genuine improvement then we need to start seeing it in these type of games, losing this would be a really big setback. Can see it being a draw with Welbeck getting his inevitable goal.

Mount is great but i think Cunha makes more issues for the defense. Mount would be a good sub.

    Onana (just kidding lammens)
    Maguiro Deligt Shaw
    Amad- Bruno Casa - Dorgu
    Mbuemo Sesko Cunha

I think this fixture is more of a benchmark for where the team's development is at under Amorim, than Liverpool at Anfield.

We've seen Amorim put out teams at Anfield (twice), Emirates and Etihad and have good performances and results against all expectations.

What we've hardly ever seen is him regularly get good performances and results against the decent upper mid-table teams. In fact, his record against them is, let's face it, abysmal.

An assured performance and win against a team that regularly batter us at Old Trafford would be the real "statement" victory in my opinion. He and the team need to get this right!

Last time we beat these at home was 2022. That’s an awful record.

    Lammens
    Yoro de Ligt Shaw
    Amad- Bruno Ugarte - Dorgu
    Mbeumo Sesko Cunha

Funny that we use to be most dangerous on the left side, now it’s the right side that’s most dangerous. Teams need to be aware of the connection Amad and Mbeumo are striking up.

Which player are you most concerned with?
Not any player in particular, just Brighton as a team in general, they seem to always turn up against us.

Its just the timing of this particular fixture, we are on a huge high after the Liverpool game and Brighton have a habit of bursting our bubble it seems.

Any win would be great but if we could beat them comfortably it would be absolutely huge.

I wouldn't mind virtually the same back 5 as Liverpool, with Mazraoui instead of Dalot on the left.

That bellend Anthony Taylor is the ref, so expect a Casemiro sending off and Brighton to be allowed to hack us while if we breathe on a Brighton player it will be whistled for a foul.

This fixture has banana skin written all over it.
It’s not a banana skin. Brighton are a very well run PL club who have consistently performed better than us for a while.

It won’t be a surprise if they win, even though we should have some confidence from our recent couple of games.

Everyone said the same about Oliver against the scousers who I thought had a decent game.
The added on time was bollocks but other than that he was fine.

Fully agree with everything you have said. This is the type of opposition that we have struggled against & performed very poorly in these games.

Mount will be imporant here. He and Cunha, that’s my feeling. Maybe give Harry a rest.

    There are 2 issues.

Brighton are better coached than us imo.

    Our players are game raisers.

Fully expect us to be brought back down to earth against Brighton and Forest.

Really think Mount should be starting when are playing against top 6 teams, I think we need Sesko, Mbuemo & Cunha as we won't get half as much space and Sesko in the air could be crucial

I’ll be more impressed if we get 9 points from the next 3 games than the win at anfield. These are the games we have to win if we want to be considered a serious club again.

Brighton are our bogey team forever and always. I'm not confident of a win but I think we'll play well, we've been pretty good at Old Trafford.

Everyone said the same about Oliver against the scousers who I thought had a decent game.
The added on time was bollocks but other than that he was fine.

He was awful, he gave every 50/50 to Liverpool. He didn’t make any massive, game changing decisions, so I suppose that counts as having a good game for a Premier League referee now.

    Lammens
    Yoro Maguire Shaw
    Amad Casemiro Bruno Dorgu
    Mbeumo Mount
    Cunha

I'd like to see Šeško start but could be same attack as vs Liverpool. Yoro in for de Ligt as I'm not sure Maguire will be dropped after that winning goal. Dorgu wasn't great at Liverpool but would start him instead of Dalot. Everything else the same.

Difficult game and no way we win easily even if we do manage to beat them.

Funny that we use to be most dangerous on the left side, now it’s the right side that’s most dangerous. Teams need to be aware of the connection Amad and Mbeumo are striking up.

The beauty of that is even when teams start putting 2 over there to cope with the pair of them, the spaces it leaves for the likes of Bruno, Cunha, Sesko and Mount is fantastic.

100%. We’re becoming a bit more exciting and unpredictable. And Amorim is showing he’s tactically good.

A chance for three league wins in a row mean that this is Amorims first real test.

Feel like the next few weeks are when the league will start to spread out a bit so getting a win here is really crucial to just stay in that pack chasing Europe. Brighton are good though, will be tough.

Oliver gets alot of headlines but Taylor is the bonafide worst ref in the division. Our record with him as ref is truly shocking and it’s usually down to a howler.

From never losing at home to Brighton to three home defeats in a row against them. Hopefully that bad run ends on Saturday.

    August 2022
    Man United 1 Brighton 2
    Possession United 63% Brighton 37
Shots on goal United 17 Brighton 15
On target United 5 Brighton 4

    September 2023
    Man United 1 Brighton 3
    Possession United 44% Brighton 56
Shots on goal United 14 Brighton 10
Shots on target United 4 Brighton 8

    January 2025
    Man United 1 Brighton 3
    Possession United 50% Brighton 50%
Shots on goal United 9 Brighton 6
Shots on target United 1 Brighton 3

Which of the above was the worst defeat/performance?

We will have to throw Harry on for the last 10 minutes if it looks like it’s going to be a draw, but I’m hoping Sesko can cause them some problems, he’s got some pace for a big lad.

This is one of Amorim’s biggest tests since joining us.To follow up the Liverpool hysteria with another good performance against the classic ‘type’ of team he has an abject record against will show whether we are genuinely turning a corner under him or it’s back to one step forward two steps back.

Brighton are always excellent against us these days so make no mistake about it, this is as tough a game as last weekend for different reasons.

I’m more confident than previous years as I feel we now have a forward line that doesn’t have the scar tissue from our recent history and can genuinely hurt any teams in the PL, Brighton included.

I’m going for a 2-1 win. Cunha to get his first goal, Welbeck to equalise as always against us, and Bruno to get the winner from the penalty spot.
