I'm flying over to attend this game so I assume we'll lose 0-1. I'll say it now, I don't like the 4-2-2-2 formation. I think it's caused a lot of problems for us in the attack. I really don't like the way the front 4 have looked in any of the games under Ralf, even the Palace game where I liked a lot of other things. I don't think we need to play this formation to play the type of football Ralf wants but I don't see us changing for this game. With Bruno out we have literally no creativity from the centre so completely reliant on the full backs, the same way we were against Newcastle where the only 2 good chances we had came from Dalot (the goal) and Telles respectively. Burnley's defence has actually been pretty good recently so not expecting anything ressembling a goal-fest.

    Predicted Lineup:

    De Gea

    Dalot Varane Maguire Shaw

    McTominay Fred

    Sancho---------------- VDB

    Cavani Ronaldo

With Lindelof testing positive for Covid-19, I wonder if there is a risk of others getting it/having to isolate.

    Hope it goes ahead!

Assuming we are continuing with the 4222, I'd switch it up and start:

    DDG
    Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Shaw
    Matic, Fred
    Sancho, VDB
    Cavani, Greenwood

Wouldn't mind seeing this line up as a 433 either.

With Bruno out it will be interesting to see who will start instead.
that's a good thing for Manchester United he's shite constantly losing the ball and not keeping his discipline. We might actually win with disciplined Donny playing instead who can hold his position and keep the ball.

Bruno Fernandes, Maguire and Rashford are spoofers. We won't win any trophies with these clowns. If Rangnick had balls he'd drop them all.

Maguire, Shaw, Fred, McTominay and Ronaldo have to survive the next two games without a yellow to avoid a suspension. Pogba is also on this list but he'll obviously not play so not in danger.

Bruno is suspended for this Burnley match.

This is probably the thing VDB does the least.

Our only hope is for another covid outbreak so this game gets postponed. Otherwise it's another shit performance, genuinely can't see us winning against Burnley, this is how bad things are right now.

That's our hope? The fact we had a 16 days break is one of the problems!

    Ah yes, more excuses.

Didn't spurs have a similar break, didn't see them struggle against spurs. Meanwhile we get lucky to get anything out of relegation fodder Norwich and Newcastle. So yes, covid postponement is our only hope!

    Bollocks.

You're aware when there's covid break there's no training or there's training with fewer players?

Spurs did well against Spurs, I'll give them that.

I agree. When you don't play for 16 days you lack match sharpness.. it's not an excuse it's just facts. It's rhythm that you can't replicate in training or the video analysis room. It's nobody fault but Covid.

that's why I'd play virtually the same team with Donny coming in for Bruno and Sancho for Greenwood who didn't take his chance. Maybe Cavani for Rashford.

this team needs matches together not rotation. If Rangnick keeps rotating the team that will make the team have less rhythm and inconsistency. Buck stops with the manager always.

Maguire and Bruno are suspended which might not be a bad thing with regards to Bruno but Bailey wasn’t even on the bench, Jones however….:nervous:

4-2-2-2 is way too narrow especially away from home. There's a reason both Pep and Klopp play a 4-3-3

Rangnick can play a 4-3-3 if he wanted to. He has the players.

Menghi. The young Pacey lad who had Young Boys on lockdown when he came on.

yes you throw him in. Can't be any worse than Maguire who makes 2-3 mistakes per game.

    radical decisions needed.

Have been saying this since sign up. Matic should play whenever fit, for as long as he can. Which should be what, 60 minutes a week? I'd alternate him with Pogba for that DM role.

Maguire and Rashford need dropping. We also desperately need Shawberto back. Telles is a ghost (still better than Shaw this season).

It looks a more balanced midfield without Bruno doesn't it!? That's why the Portugal national team manager doesn't trust Bruno as he prefers a low-risk keep it simple workhorse balance over high-risk Hollywood passing flair you can't afford to carry a player in midfield you'll get exposed. Games are won and lost in the midfield and United are losing the midfield battle every game you have to ask why. The opposition won't be able to drive a bus through our midfield because Bruno loses the ball in danger areas and goes walkabouts leaving the Midfield exposed for the counter/transition. Bruno and his shite form is the biggest problem with this team currently as the Burnley game will prove when we win without him maybe fans will see that Bruno needs bench time. And we have a more balanced midfield like Liverpool and City team without him. Liverpools midfield 3 are not glamorous (I dare say they are Trojan work horses like Fred and Mctom with Henderson and Milner in there) but they do the job, keep the ball and stay disciplined keeping the shape. That's what United need in the midfield. Not luxury passenger players like Bruno.

Bruno would be better on the left of a front 3 once he returns or as a false 9 interchanging with Ronaldo. He can't hurt United there.

4-4-fecking 3 with the 3 high up and WIDE get at them!

you could also do the same team with Cavani instead of Rashford or Sancho. Both Ronaldo and Cavani are smart enough to interchange during the game.

This will be another terrible game

The level of play against Norwich and Newcastle is so low we aren’t suddenly turning it around in 3 days 1-0 either way or another 1-1 draw.

Start Cavani and bench Rashford ffs. Bruno's absence can be a bessing in disguise. I would refer him on the bench though.

I would also like to see Elanga play some minutes so I want him to come on for Rashford and obvs Cavani to get some more minutes. A little skeptical as to how Varane will cope with games in such short space of time due to him coming back from injury but it looks like Jones is the only other option.

    Going for 1-0 United.

You should comfortably beat Burnley at home.

Greenwood offers next to nothing apart from his shooting. He is a liability we can't afford to carry with Ronaldo already on the pitch, and Rashford is completely out of form. They should be no where near the starting XI. Shaw should return for this one, as he is one of our few players who is actually capable of putting their feet on the ball. Keep the 4222, the formation hasn't been the problem.

This will be a typical home game against a ‘lesser’ team. Burnley will defend in two blocks, a five and a four with one up top. We will prat about doing a lot of running to try and impress the manager. I hole he plays Cavani for the start and Sancho, then we may score a few, but another draw looms.

Our wingbacks simply aren't good enough for RR's tactics. It's obvious to see and we're far too easy to nullify. Happened in every game bar the first 45 v Palace.

It also means our wingers are in unnatural positions, and Bruno is crowded out.

Hope I'm wrong but I think Ralf may need to rethink his go-to philosophy to fit the squad we have a bit more.

Clearly you've not been watching us this season. We're incapable of comfortably beating anyone.
To be fair, I haven’t watched much of you this season because you’re not that entertaining to watch

Some of you are really a diabolical lot here. If you want to win without struggle all the time, go load up Football manager or Fifa and use those insane game engine breaking tactics to swipe everyone 5-0 - I hope that's good for your mental health. Currently I am rather worried about some of you.
