We had Gomes on the bench but still chose to play Lingard.

Yeah but Klopp and Pep are geniuses. Probably the best two managers out there at the moment. Ole is not and will never be.
Pep hardly trust City's academy players in his first season either. What he did was to bring in quality players into the squad and flush out the deadwoods.

Ole would be able to assess the kids during the summer preseason. But the point is these players are deadwoods. They shouldn't even be squad players, let alone starters.

I am all for giving the right manager time if it means something is improving on the field . Its been 6 months and we see nothing from a football standpoint. Seriously?
And how many players has Ole been allowed to bring in during that time to improve things? It's impossible to make any meaningful change if what you're working with isn't good enough.

I think all our problems stem from off the pitch problems and there is no quick fix for that apart from shipping out the cnuts and bringing people in who are 100% committed to the cause.

Until Solskjær has had a crack at doing that it's unfair to lay the blame solely on him.

Is this the worst we’ve been both football wise and the state of the club? It feels worse than the Moyes season.
It is worse than the Moyes season.

It's probably the worst season since '74.

Difference is that after relegation we had a complete clear out and came back fighting.

That just isn't going to happen with this current clueless management and multi-millionaire arseholes pretending to be professional footballers

Or the fact that he knows he can't help the shit of Lingard, Young, Rashford, Jones in the team. All of whom you adore. Stones, Otamendi, Sane, Jesus, De bruyne are on City's bench. All these players would displace the clowns we have in our team.
All of whom I adore? Who the feck do you think you're talking to?

Combined with City on course for a domestic treble and Spurs Liverpool Chelsea and Arsenal all playing in European finals.

    It's been a nightmare season.

Said nearly a week ago only youngsters he will start will be Dalot and Greenwood. Anybody saying we dont need a new centre back must literally be blind.
Was quite impressed with Greenwoods movement around and in the box, a good debut and a little unlucky not to have at least a couple of goals.
Apart from that, anybody not watching the game will hardly be surprised to hear Young was abysmal, JOnes and Smalling did little, Pogba played for himself, over all was utterly wasteful and Rashford didnt finish well and had a couple of long dipping shots....that bounced in front of the keeper pretty much straight down the middle.
Our record the last 12 games or so would see any manager pretty much at any club sacked, let alone our own. I am genuinely starting to think Solkjears only chance of lasting beyond Christmas or next summer is to rip up the team with up to 10 out and a good 7/8 in as now the honeymoon is over, he really cant get anything out of this current side and with a summer transfer window, without a really good one, sadly it may only be a matter of time before the fans anger turns from the players to him

Oh, well, if it was clear to you I'll shut up then!
This could well have been mentioned in here before, but, does anyone think that the biggest contributing factor to our form since Ole arrived is actually the work being done by Phelan?

Maybe it’s just me overlooking Ole but there’s more to our performances recently than the players just being happy, some of the games have been tactically spot on and I can’t see him being capable of that so early only in his managerial career personally.

Get Pochettino or someone with a clue and do that. Ole is not the answer.
Yes, Pochettino who has a CL final ahead of him, CL football next season and a much better squad and a chance to challenge for trophies next season. I'm sure he's sitting by the phone all day waiting for that call from Ed.

I still love United but it’s hard to truly support them at the moment. What are we supporting? The overpaid, underworked, unfit crooks we’ve got on the pitch don’t deserve it. The board are ruining our club, they don’t deserve it. I want to see Ole succeed but I just don’t think he’s good enough. He’s inexperienced, it was such a rash decision.

I’ll always show my support but it just feels empty at the moment.

    You're really stretching it.
To be fair we were, and a few bad decisions against us.....doesnt change the fact even so that we were still awful, lethargic int he main, unimaginative, unable to stop any break out high up the pitch, wasteful and poor.
The worst defensive record we have had ever isnt it pretty much and people say our defence isnt a priority? We have six squad centre backs, not one good enough to be a starter, we now have DAlot who isnt ready to start and we still have Ashley Young. Shaw is the only defender we have of any quality....and this is our player of the season.....for being over all decent and improved

I was watching the last few minutes. 4-1 up and yet they were still chasing every ball as if their lives depended on it.
    Proper players.
    Proper attitude.
    Proper football.
Some months ago I said that I respected what City have done an I was criticised for saying that.
They deserve this respect and have set the standard for everyone else to try to achieve.
worse still: Klopp has starting doing the same at Liverpool. agree with everything you say about City - and they barely crow about it. Just get on with trying to do it again next season

They will both strengthen during the summer and be even more professional next season. This rivalry will drive both clubs on.
I guess that all we can do my friend is hope.

I just realised we're all clamouring for a centre back and a winger and that's exactly what Mourinho wanted last summer. Still relieved when he was sacked.

Moyes did take over a championship winning team though, all be it not a great one. He also signed Fellaini and paid a club record for yet another number 10 to play out wide. Thought straight away then he was bound to fail.

This season Mourinho was near meltdown. Did a good first season, the poor transfers the following one. He knew he needed players, his targets seemed strange, we obviously needed an overhaul and signed a teenage right back and Fred, two players when we needed about seven. Again, it was obvious we would fail this season. Solkjear I feel was hired merely as a temporary manager, lets be honest the time of PSG it was nigh impossible not to want him as manager, even though we jumped the gun.

I think this may well be the worst season too since I was born in 74 (which I dont remember of course). Moyes harmed the club, but the damage was limited, just the next manager was poor too. We now find ourselves going into the summer with the poorest team in attitude and ability over all I can remember in my lifetime, with an inexperienced manager that probably as a permanent manager has the worst record of any manager I can ever remember. We have prepared ourselves to fail with our transfer dealing every summer to a degree, bar maybe 1/2 since we signed Van Persie.

Really think this summer will be telling in terms of how next season goes, sadly with contract renewals, free transfers and some names already seeming to be not coming to us before the season has even ended, I fear we could actually well go backwards from where we are now for 12 months, which is a scary thought
