I'll take the draw, just secure top 4 and move on. Can't deal with the nervousness on the last match if we don't get a result here.

I saw a graphic that Havertz picked up a fifth yellow card in today's game v City, suspended for Thursday then I'd imagine?

This game reeks of 0-0 which would suit us down to the ground.
It does, and it would, you’re right.

Both teams would be happy with that, more so than usual. We only need a point and Chelsea just don’t want to get beat yet again.

Do not want to be the unlucky club where Chelsea's free points give way ends. Aston Villa are the only top 10 team Chelsea have beaten this season.

Same XI but play Garnacho instead of Sancho and Rashford instead of Martial. Or play Rashford and Martial.

Would like to see Garnacho start - if Rashford could hit some form before the final, that would be a bonus too.

Draw/win this then play the kids v Fulham.

Agee with the above. Win this and rest the senior players to have a chance against the smug, arrogant gits across the City. Martial won't be playing I hope.

Hopefully we get a point in this match. Which we should considering that we are pretty good at home and Chelsea are a bit shit. Would love a 0-0 draw.

To be fair, I might prefer a draw here, instead of chasing the third place in the final match. Except a couple of million pounds, no difference between third and fourth, and if we secure the fourth place but the third is very unlikely (we draw, Newcastle wins), then we can rest the entire first team in the final league match. Then bring City on (who will also be rested).

We are historically bad against Chelsea. But a draw is all we need so we should be fine.

could not care less about 3rd vs 4th. Get the result we need here, rotate against fulham, and prep for the final against city.

Easy win here. Think we’ll score 3+ past these.

HUH? Since the start of 2018 our record vs them has been 5W-7D-2L and the 2 losses were in the FA Final when they got a penalty and the FA Semi-Final when Lampard whined to the refs beforehand and Mike Dean played right into it. They've been more shit against us than we have them for the last half decade.

i just hope we take care of business here. Would be stupid to throw this one away then go into fulham and risk some stupid shit happening. Go full strength hopefully rashford is back and good to go.

    Since 2018 is hardly historically.
Under Fergie it wouldn’t surprise me if we had a worse record against Chelsea than against any other club.

If we win this one it'll be only the second time in PL era that we beat all of Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs/City/Chelsea at home in one season. It happened in 2010/11 and not sure about pre-PL era but possibly it didn't happen ever before.

And iirc that season we also had a bad away record. Our home form won us the league.

Since 2018 is a shite ton more relevant than matches of when SAF was in charge.

1-0 will do. Ideally Id want to hammer them but we've shown we dont do that and we need 5 chances to score 1

Fergie retired 10 years ago, there's no point bringing up his record against Chelsea. Results since 2018 are much more relevant.

Good for you if results since 2018 are more relevant for you. Wondering why 2018 though, different teams and managers. If we are talking about relevant results then we should maybe only take the last 2-3 results between the teams into account.
I am never confident when playing Chelsea due to our overall average record against them hence my original comment.

Alright then let's take the last 2 or 3 results into account, all draws.

    That'll do me on Thursday.

And if you're worried about losing to this Chelsea on Thursday then I don't know what to tell you, I'd say it's highly unlikely.

    It'll be a boring 0-0 or 1-0 Utd I'm guessing.

Chelsea are pretty shit at the moment, of course, and we’re decent at home so the favourite must be a Utd win, surely?

Draw. Probably 0-0. Probably a bore fest.

We need a rout this season. Would be good if we can beat them by a big margin.
I’d love to see that too, but Chelsea were actually not bad against City. This disturbs me, and I’m nervous. You wouldn’t like me when I’m nervous.

I’m nervous cause the idea of two losses and Liverpool getting into 4th drives me crazy. That being said, crazy Newcastle possibly finishing above us and they are gonna spend how much in the summer?

I get why people are predicting a tight 0-0 or 1-1, but can you imagine watching that, with only a few minutes to go and Chelsea win a free kick or corner? It would be agonizing. I mean, Newcastle dominated Leicester by every metric today, but their nerves in the last few minutes were palpable, and only an excellent save by Pope gave them their precious point and prevented Leicester from taking all three. I can see us doing that against Chelsea if it's close toward the end of the game. I hope we focus on a win not a draw and score early.

I think we get more money from the PL for getting third.

I also doubt Newcastle will be going to Stamford Bridge all guns blazing.
