Always hard to play against and we'll be rusty. I'll manage my own expectations on this one that we'll draw or win a scrappy 1-0

1-2. Repeat of last season where we dominate but can't finish for shit. Cue mass fan hysteria.

Pogba and Greenwood to start on bench? How is Scott Mctominay after coming off at half time last weekend vs villa? He was playing well so I thought he might of had a slight knock

Bash your head off a wall performance.
    Slow and stodgy.

    Palace are 10-1 to win.

    Get on it.

Wow no confidence at all. They have a lot of injuries. We will win 3-0. Martial masterclass incoming.

Hard to get excited for this which is a shit attitude i know because it's United back playing football but the parasites who run this club have just sucked all excitement away from finishing 3rd last season, getting UCL football back and now were starting the season with no real improvement to the squad at all which it clearly needed as we crawled across the finishing line 6 weeks ago,

The whole club, players and fans would have been buzzing and so confident if we had Sancho starting on that right wing, but here we are, hoping for miracles as per while those greedy c*nts receive there dividends payments and not giving a rip about this game, team or future,

Anyway, will be a tricky fixture, 1-0 if we are lucky, Martial to the rescue.

Think people forget we have Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, Pogba and Bruno Fernandes to play a part. Not to mention Van de Beek. Class.

2-1. Diamond. We'll be lethargic and let in a goal on the counter but score with Bruno (pen) and Martial.

    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw

2-1. Shocking start, they score, we wake up in the 2nd half after Pogba comes on. Martial & Greenwood with the goals.

This is about where I am too and that feels crap.

1 signing and going into a congested season without a pre season, with the CL and we’ve added 1 player. Let’s hope he’s fecking good.

    8-0 United. VDB hatrick........just kidding scrappy 1-0.

I'm going for 1-1. They will be far more match fit than us and it will be help them a lot.

How do they have a lot of injuries? Are they still from last season or did the players got injured in training / preseason?

We started last seadon with a squad that was actually weaker than the previous season, which I thought was criminal. Yet we recovered and finished 3rd. At least this time we're no weaker than last season. You could even say we're stronger. But the transfer window has so far been largely depressing. Need a big win vs Palace to lift my/our spirits. Hope the lads deliver that. 5-0 United!!!

Gutted we only have one signing and no outgoings apart from Sanchez. Nevertheless, this team should beat Palace but i thinn we will make a meal of it especially given Rashford has looked off since coming bacm from injury, international fixtures ruin recovery, one pre season game and not enough rest after a very hard and long last season. I will predict a 1 0 victory, probably a penalty to be scored by Bruno. I would actually put Henderson in goal but i think De Gea will start.

    De Gea
    AWB Lindeloff Maguire Shaw
    Matic VDB
    Bruno
    Greenwood Martial Rashy

I dont think Pogba will start but he should be on the bench. I am buzzing for the first game and we have another on 22nd against Luton where we will most likely see the likes of Lingard, Andreas, Rojo, Jones, Mctominay, Williams and Ighalo. Our depth is really pathetic.

Think it will be a draw - we'll hit the post/crossbar/their keeper about 75 times, Bruno will score a penalty, and we'll concede on the back of a defensive mind lapse against the run of play.

I was impressed with Palace against Southampton, looks like they didn't play many, if any starters midweek when they lost to Bournemouth on PKs. I am going 1-1. They will be sharper but we have more quality. Eze looks a good prospect to watch, was impressed when he came on last weekend.

    McTominay - VDB
    Greenwood - Bruno - Rashford

I think we'll drop points, Palace are much more prepared than us and Pogba is a big miss. We should have had Sancho and a new CB and LB for this game ideally.

Not my favourite opponents, far from it ....

    Henderson
    AWB Timbo Maguire Williams
    Bruno van de Beek Pogba
    Greenwood Martial Rashford

    De Gea
    Mengi/Shaw
    Lindelof/Bailly
    McTominay
    Fred/Matic
    James
    Ighalo

    3-1
Why TFM and Williams? I’d go with the tried and tested Lindelof and Shaw for the first game personally.

We’ll need to get off to a good start here. The lack of match fitness in comparison to Palace isn’t a good excuse, as we’ve by far the better team. Can’t wait for this game, and hope the boys don’t let us down. Time to win the league!

Prediction: Man United 2-0 Crystal Palace, Bruno (P), Martial

Doubt pogba will start as he won’t be properly fit, so great chance for Donny to get his debut. Otherwise same team that played during lockdown.

hope Greenwood can play well and score to settle him back into football.

Crystal Palace's front three have the pace and power to worry any defence in the League and if our midfield don't get control of the game early, and help cut off the supply to their front three they will cause us problems and Timbo's extra pace and strength over Lindelof who is a notorious slower starter to the season as well, plus he knows most of the Palace players makes it a no-brainer for me.

Though Ole may well plump for Bailly to partner Maguire if he is fit, or Smalling!

And Shaw I just don't rate the lad, Williams for me is a better baller, has a better football brain and offers more offensively between the two boxes.

Reckon we go like this. Pogba bench because of corona to give him time to get up to speed, Greenwood bench because of his England thing for developmental reasons. Maybe McTominay or Matic instead of Fred, could go either way that. Wan Bissaka I hear also has had an interrupted pre season, but we don't have many fullbacks... maybe Williams right back for first game?
No chance James starts ahead of Mason

Yep, I get your point about TFM. Lindelof was dreadful in the equivalent game last season. But why don’t you rate Shaw? When fit, he’s up and down that flank and shows more quality than Brandon.

I like that OP has put a picture of Old Trafford with storm clouds above, almost like a metaphor for what is happening to our club. Like an ominous portrait of the year ahead. I'm a fan!
    Yes I'm overthinking this.

We could easily lose this game... They'll be much fitter/sharper then us having already played a proper game or two.

Not starting our season last weekend was so fecking dumb.
