Hallelujah, I fecking hate international breaks.
Same. The time they were the pinnacle of the game has long long evaporated.
They're clinging on because the summer tournaments are still a feast, but without those, I think it'd have all been scrapped years back.

Managers must go spare, seeing this momentum killing 2 week break, with players being injured, right in the run in! Insane

I dislike International breaks with a passion.
I don't even bother watching international matches..especially the friendlies. They suck.

Especially at Easter, wtf was that about, usually a prime time for domestic football. Used to get 3 games in 4 days, then 2, then just the one and this year...zilch.

I'm actually vaguely confident about this one because Everton are such crap.... hmm come to think of it those are the ones we lost to

An early goal is absolutely crucial in this game for us. Everton's defence is all over the place at the moment so we have to go at them from the first whistle to ensure their nerves dont get any restbite. If we get one in the first 15 minutes I think it'll be a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Momentum hasn't exactly been our strong point this season so I can't even suggest that a win will help us build confidence going into the game against Spurs. I've detached myself somewhat emotionally from this season and adopted the que sera sera approach.

All the old 'hung ho' is gone _ the days of when we would score more goals whoever the opposition _ almost total lack of supporter confidence from game to game...
BTW with respect I totally disagree with Ferguson re Van Gall as reported today....Van Gall and Giggs have failed in both performances and results terms...

:( Great (attacking) lineup, so much promise.

God i loved that team with all its defensive and tactical problems. A combination of Van Persie, Rooney, Falcao, Mata, Di Maria upfront with Rafael and Shaw running down the line all day and our new midfield maestros Blind and Herrera doing their stuff in the middle.

Then fecking Vardy and Leicester had to screw everything up not really their fault tbf

They literally played 1 game before that leicesyer game, home to QPR. Its not like we were free flowing and suddenly van gaal stopped it. He just had everyone adapt more to keeping possession instead of going a bit more direct, especially di maria. Pretty much the only change. Di maria was the only one playing really well anyways, the rest were meh. Him and de gea carried us for the beginning part of the season.

The moon gave me flowers for funerals to come.
I'm not holding my breath with this one, Everton have a really good side, just the sort we will have trouble against at home, added to that it seems every time top 4 is there for the taking we do everything can to mess it up.

And this is a chance and a half we've been given, City have a brutal run in compared to ours, and if they miss out it could be extremely damaging to them, where as we've come accept our fate already, it would be poetry if it happened as I hope, but somehow I'm not that confident it will.
Maybe like that Aguero goal last day of the season that cost us the title only instead for a RASHFOOOOOOOORD inspired goal and pinch the last CL spot :)

We have plenty more draws and losses in us yet.

We can become the first team in Premier League history to score 1000 home goals, currently on 999. Who'd you reckon will get it?

    My vote's for Martial.

Really hope Arsenal or City somehow drop points this weekend to really get us up for this.

With the Bobby Charlton stand unveiling, the 1000th goal situation, and that, it'd really be an occasion.

    Or we'll lose 0-1!

If I was a betting man, this is one fixture I'd avoid like the plague.
It's the one where itsessexrob would bet on smalling to score a free kick because he hasn't scored one in a while

This will be a tough game. Although Everton have been awful at home, they have a very good away record.

I hope we can get the victory but I think this game will be separated by 1 goal.

:( Great (attacking) lineup, so much promise.

    We've basically regressed.

Last season, in our final 6 games, we scored 3 goals.
I think that that ultra defensive style of football was his master plan which he wanted to continue into this season.

If we aimed for 1-0 and 0-0 score lines, it would mean we would not have score many goals, would not need to rely on top quality attackers and could compete for top 3. With this in mind, he got rid of Di Maria and bought 2 midfielders to help out with defensive duties (to ensure those 1-0 and 0-0 scorelines).

When the season started, we continued (from the end of last season) with the 1-0 and 0-0 scorelines, during which time his master plan was working (we were in 1st place at the end of November).

Same squad as against City, except Young and Herrera in for Januzaj and Schweinsteiger as per the MEN.

Great to see Young come back in. At 30 he doesnt need u21's, that only applies to other players coming back from injury I guess.

At least West Ham dropped points, as otherwise, the 3 teams above us all winning would make tomorrow very dodgy ground.

Therefore, here's to a win, 1000th home Premier league goal (and more hopefully!), and the unveiling of the stand, and keep the top 4 battle going another game!
