Everton was really good against Chelsea. Their players won a lot of 2nd ball in that game and they played like the old school football, there was passion, hard work, stuck in, long ball and no fear. I think this game will be an entertaining one to watch.

I'm usually pretty pessimistic but I also have a weird inkling/feeling about this game, where we suddenly just destroy a team out of nowhere, 4-0 or 5-1 or something. 3-1 I'm sticking with, to play it cool.
Big Dunc isn't a tactician so I'm confident with the slightest bit of nouse and a lot of fight this game should be over fairly quickly.

I am really happy with the confidence some are showing on here. I am slightly less optimistic, i think we will win but will be a lot tighter. Confidence is growing in our tean at the right time but 2 1 to us i think will be the result.

I completely forgot that we lost the last fixture to them 4-0 ... kudos to my brain for erasing that one from my memory.

Yep, think there will be a lot of long balls up to Calvert-Lewin, with Richarlson feeding off him. Lindelof and Maguire will need their A game as far as winning aerial duels are concerned. Maguire should be picking up Calvert-Lewin, with Lindelof on Richarlson. AWB will need to watch the runners off the ball.

It's never fun with injured players, not even in the opposing team, but good news for us. Think I have to change my prediction to a 3-0 win.

Everton went with a 4-4-2 in the last game against Chelsea and I reckon they will go for the same. I was wondering if Lingard is unavailable and after Greenwood’s superb performance last night, we end up matching them with a 4-4-2 as well?

Been seeing people saying Mata deserves to start. Thought it was a joke at first but seen it too often. He’s trash and has the physical presence of a school girl. He’ll take a chance if it falls just right, but otherwise will inevitably bebullied out of the game by Everton’s grown men.

Mata registered 1G+2A last match. In this regard, he deserves to start simply on merit (as well as Greenwood with 2G+Earned penalty).

Mata will not start. If Lingard is not fit It will be AP or Mason. The rest will be the same team as against City.

I’m hoping AP will replicate the better form he showed against AZ. They are a better team than Everton in my opinion.

Mason won’t start. Martial, Rashy and James is my front 3 prediction

Thank heavens football isn’t a mathematical examination then. Watching the game anyone would know his game wasn’t not particularly creative, and anyone watching him in general would know he isn’t particularly creative. He’s finished as a PL player, and would simply be beaten up by Everton’s players.

Everton will setup in a 442 like last time and look to counter us with pace.

Walcott / Calvert Lewin / Richarlison / Iwobi is a front 4 full of pace that could hurt anybody on the counter, we will need to be careful.

We will need to start hard and fast and really batter their confidence like we did against Spurs in the first half. Hopefully the lads pull that sort of commitment, and not a Villa style match.

I'm glad Mctominay will be in there setting the tone.

Rashford to absolutely spin Sidibe and score a brace.

    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    McTominay - Fred
    James - Martial - Rashford
    Greenwood

    Subs: Lingard - Young - Pogba(if healthy)/Pereira(if not Pogba)

That should score 4 or 5 goals...

He’s already said that Pogba will be back in January.
We won’t play with 2 midfielders and 4 forwards

I hope to see Mata or Greenwood start after last night. Although Lingard should keep his place after his performance against City probably if he is healthy.
Otherwise we should just play the same team as last week.

Doubt if Mata starts. We have that League Cup game against Colchester coming up.

We’ll need to be at full strength for that one

Would be a perfect match to slot Pogba in at an attacking MF roll. What is his status?

I watched Everton in their recent away game v Leicester. Deserved a draw but lost to a 94 minute goal. With the new manager bounce this will be no easy 3 points for United.

I'd expect providing everyone is fit (Lingard doubtful) that United will be unchanged from the Manchester Derby.

To be fair to Ole the one recent positive in our games recently is the fact we now looking like high scorers.
We're creating chances and are now putting away these opportunities.

Cue a consistent run of drab 0-0's.

If Lingard isn't fit I don't agree with the majority above that the answer is to start Greenwood. Pereira was great against Alkmaar and he'll be more useful trying to break down a packed defence than just throwing another striker in there. The build-up to Young's goal yesterday is an example of how good he can be at finding his way through ranks of defenders. He's also not afraid of a scrap, which is something we'll definitely get from big Dunc. He adds a lot of defensive value too, and he's particularly canny at disrupting counter-attacks when we lose the ball, which could be crucial.

    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Fred
    Lingard/Pereira
    James Martial Rashford
    Was Pereira better than Greenwood?

Well, I didn't see each playing the other's position, so that's kind of hard to answer.
I get that message. Pereira is a more or less tried and proven option as N10, he did very well against AZ. Should be him.

My message is: Greenwood is better technically, doesn’t shy away from additional workload, can move between the lines, is comfortable in terms tight spaces. He has attributes, may be Ole would trust him as he did in Spurs game?

Definitely - Martial is going to be amazing playing as a number 10 in my opinion.

I really hope Ole tries this out one time.

He can make the short passes, can make the interlinking play, can make the runs once he makes the passes, is able to dribble from deep.

He's the player that makes our play the most fluid for our whole team apart from Pogba & it's Martial who should be playing deeper and centrally in CAM with the freedom to get forward in my opinion.

It's very similar to how depay plays as a CAM for Lyon or Netherlands occasionally.

Based on the news re who's totally fit:
    DeGea
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Young
    McTominay - Fred
    Pereira
    James - Martial - Rashford
This time give Greenwood 30 minutes and take off Martial.
