Only my opinion and I would like to see him succeed but so far he's done little to convince me - it's our playing style and in the City team / set up he would be better. My point is that in last night's match he had the opportunity to suit his style with our high possession - I suspect it will only be an injury to Bruno or Pogba that would give him a longer spell in the team and it's clear Ole doesn't rate him that highly otherwise he'd have played in more matches.
Fair, I just think he's come to United when they've played the best football in years. Bruno, Pogba, Fred, McTomminay, Matic all playing well, consistently which has propelled us to the top of the league. He can't expect to come in and take someones place until he's earned it over time.

I suspect he'll be playing 50 games a year for us this time in 2 years, he seems committed to that and so does Ole.

I remember Fred barely playing in his first 12 months, Fabinho at Liverpool, I can think of loads. It takes time with some players and fans need not get agitated or knee-jerk when instant success doesn't happen.

We certainly moved the ball quicker last night, without Pogba playing, and I think that is how we move on.
Yeah, let's make these conclusions based on one game when we played 11 vs 10.
It's "we don't need Pogba, we have Fred and McT" comments again ffs

I'd love us to try Pogba on the right TBH. I'm not sure why we have never tried it as I think he could be really effective.

    What I think:

    --------------------------------De Gea------------------------------
    AWB------------Lindelof------------Maguire--------------Shaw
    ----------------------Mctom------------Fred------------------
    -------------------------------Fernandes--------------------------
    Greenwood----------------Cavani--------------------Rashford

But i'd like to see the above with Greenwood swapped for Pogba and Lindelof swapped for Bailly.

Looking at the selections options to the right of my screen, I'm struck by a question that I really feel needs answering...

Why does Lee Grant play for Man Utd?

Worried Ole will force Martial back in to the starting 11 by shifting Rashford right. I'd go with the exact same team as last night as a reward for the performance. Gives us options off the bench as well depending which way the game goes.

Surely we start the same team again, they’ll have an extra days rest than Everton and if we need game changers then Pogba and Martial on the bench are ideal.

Only doubt I guess is Cavani in which case Martial straight back up top. Absolutely have to keep Rashford on the left with Shaw.

Could do with Bailly in order to help Harry with Calvert-Lewin

    I'd go for

    De Gea
    Bissaka - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    Fred - Mctominay
    Bruno
    Rashford - Cavani - Martial

Same starting 11 as last night. Pointless trying to fit square pegs in to round holes. Start Rashford on the left, which is his best position.

The only change I would make is Bailly for Lindelof to deal with DLC however; I wouldn't mind the same team.

No one did anything wrong, Pogba back on the bench.

Does Martial deserve the left wing over Rashford, and why?
I'm hoping his 2 goals recently could see a return to form.
Rashford is better than Martial on the right and both are currently better players than Greenwood.

Not a fan of trying to fit Martial and Cavani into a front 3. Think it blunts us. Basically means only 1 of our front 3 can operate in their best position.

Greenwood - Cavani - Rashford is the most natural fit/gets our best players in each position on the pitch.

Think it’ll be more or less the same starting XI , but as many said Bailly in for Lindelof. Might switch Rash to the right and have Pogba on the left .

Rashford also had a very good first half. I think it would be unfair to him to play him on the right for Martial. Martial has lost his place to Cavani, he shouldnt then come and take Rashfords place. Two goals last game isnt enough to justify it.

Atleast I hope. Martial should be a joker on the bench till he proves himself more

Everton continued their good away form against Leeds tonight. Will be a tough nut to crack this Saturday.

Going to be tough this. In the League Cup you beat us very convincingly. The other league game could have gone either way but you had the killer instinct and punished us. Potential to be a good game though.

Will take any win obviously, don't care how, it's all about starting another unbeaten run with majority victories. It's so tempting to put Pogba in the team, he hasn't necessarily done anything to be dropped but that starting line-up last night just seemed 'right'.

I'd probably pick the same XI, depending on Cavani's knock (I doubt it'll stop him playing). Pogba & Martial as great options from the bench.
Yeah I'm thinking that Pogba and Matic, although very good on the ball, do slow the game down more than Fred and Mctominay. When we want to play fast frenetic overload football than McFred are our boys. Pogba and Matic are more measured and incisive but they don't close down as well and they (Pogba especially) like to play at a slower pace. They're still gonna be useful but I can't see a game going forward were I don't wanna play the way we did against the Saints. Letting the full backs go, letting a middy go now and then and really giving the attackers some help. We have been relying on the 4 attackers to do all the attacking. I don't know why I didn't see it sooner. We've been playing for so long with the handbrake on. Take it off Ole.

There have been a lot of games this season where we have been bombarded by the opposition but we have weathered the storm so to speak and defended superbly to get through it. That was the case this evening.

I'm so looking forward to this now. I expect the dippers to bite back and beat Citeh this weekend, making it so crucial we beat Everton. This season is so so far from over. It's up to us. Confidence couldn't be higher. This is the big month in the title race.

Massive game given what's happening on Sunday. City's "nice" run is over and they'll get some harder fixtures now. Them dropping points over the last couple of weeks would have been a bonus, rather than genuine hope.

Confidence in our players should be high. An early goal again to settle the nerves please.

If City could draw a few games or lose a game soon then it will keep the entire league alive.

United will be full of confidence against Everton so we are in for another exciting weekend.

    You love to see it!

City now have Liverpool, Spurs, and then Arsenal. Neither of the teams look very convincing, but are certainly capable of beating or drawing City. Just win this and believe. Nothing's over yet

I hope heads are screwed on and not in the clouds after that win. Look what can happen if you get too cocky...

Dropping Fred would be a big mistake. The huge hole in our midfield and on the edge of our box against Sheffield was a Fred-shaped one. Just because he's not our best player doesn't mean he's not an extremely important one.

If Pogba comes in, he comes in for McSauce. They're positionally similar. Anywhere else, you're shoe-horning him in, which is never a good idea. If we absolutely must swap him in for Greenwood again then fine, but only because that false RW position isn't currently hugely important to the way we play.

Personally I'd leave everything the same except Bailly in for Lindelof. Keep the momentum from S'oton by keeping the team as similar as possible.

Another tough away match, hopefully we can keep the streak going.

Maguire’s suspension is a huge miss, would have needed his aerial presence against DCL.

    It’s in our hands.
We are home. We already beat them in Goodison.

Martial will come back into the XI after that cameo I reckon, Ole said Cavani has a swollen ankle.

Pogba in for Fred I'd imagine will be the other change.

Ole's first real test is to make the players come back to earth.
But it's nice up on Cloud NINE!

    DDG
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    Pogba - Fred
    Greenwood - Bruno - Rashford
    Martial

    Subs - VdB, James, Telles

I don't see Scott or Edi seeing action after their near-misses Tuesday. Ole will rest them.

Yeah its a bit of a shoehorn. Personally, I wouldn't change the midfield after last night. Maybe Pogba as a bench option.
    Short term memories

We played against a 2nd string Southampton with an extra man for 85 mins followed by a 2nd red then. Let’s not make out McTom and Fred destroyed them.Pogba has to start this .
