We should rest everyone who had played every game so far.

    Romero
    Young - Tuanzebe - Jones - Rojo
    Garner - Fred - Gomes
    James - Greenwood - Chong

Considering the FB injuries Williams should make the squad as well.

Basically all change but try and have some experience in there to help the kids.

    --------------------Romero--------------------
    Wan-B-----Tuanzabe-----Jones-----Rojo
    ---------------------Matic----------------------
    ---------------Fred----------Gomes
    Lingard----------Greenwood----------Chong

That's what I'd really like to see and I think it's a sensible team. Really tough game on Sunday against West Ham so having a rested team will be crucial.

Garner & Williams to come on if we are coasting to a win or Rashford & James + Mctom if we are struggling and need a goal.

No matter what the bookies say, I cannot find any excitment watching this United team in the EL.
I am absolutely buzzing for this game. We're most likely going to play a lot of our youngsters, which will be fun. Plus we'll also play some of the 'not very good but absolutely batshit mental' players like Fred. Where on second he'll take on two players and smash one in top corner and the next he'll play a simple three yard pass wrong and set their striker free. (Dalot/Lingard and Pereira being others guilty of this).

I bet this will be the most fun match in years.

Yes, this team I would like to see start, but with another player. You only listed 10.
You've probably got to add in Matic and Mata. They will be invaluable to help out young players in games like this. But a team with Young/Jones/Mata/Matic and Romero paired with six youngsters would be great.

As I am a Kazakh, I feel obliged to give a cultural perspective on Astana. If you are interested only in football assessment, just skip the post.

I don't follow Kazakh football closely: it's a waste of time. With average salary of $250 a month, Kazakhs have more worries than football. Professional football in Kazakhstan exists only because the Governors finance the regional clubs and the Republic pays for NT. Kazakh Premier League is a regions vanity fair. Since the oil prices plummeted, the financing of the clubs was drastically reduced and the level of the League dropped.

Astana is by far the biggest club in Kazakhstan. Its yearly budget is around $45 million US dollar. FC Astana is a part of Astana Sports Holding financed by Samruk-Kazyna, a National Wealth Fund. The most successful member of Astana Sports group is Astana Cycling which a major team in the world Cycling.

Astana was established in 2008 as Lokomotiv under patronage of then the President's youngest daughter's husband Daniyar Hasenov who was the club president and player (!!!). This little detail gives an insight of why Sasha Baron Cohen chose to name his fantasy country "Kazakhstan". Kazakhstan, being a large and open country, is relatively known in the world (unlike, say, Turkmenistan), and has a quite extravagant elite.

Kazakhstan society, especially in big cities like Almaty and the capital Astana (renamed to Nur-Sultan after an ageing and mentally sick dictator but Kazakhs don't accept "Nur-Sultan" in daily life) are a modern society. Foreigners love Almaty located in the South at the Alatau mountains foothills. A beautiful city with all local pleasures and international infrastructure with Starbuckses, Ritzes, and Saks Fifth Avenues of the developed world.

However, our elite grouped around Nazarbayev family, looks like they came right from the Middle Ages. The political situation is changing, and the regime is counting months to its inevitable fall.

Since Lokomotiv became Astana in 2011, the club has won 5 League titles, went to Europe cup 1/16 play offs, and participated in CL Group stages. It's a pretty strong side with a lot of experienced foreign players and the best national talents. Kazakh players are of a respectable quality. Kazakh NT has become quite an opponent for European teams lately. We destroyed Scotland 3:0 in ongoing Euro qualifiers. The last match was against Russia in Kaliningrad, where Russia escaped a draw with a late goal. Kazakhstan is third in the Group behind Belgium and Russia and ahead of Scotland and Cyprus.

Astana is a good test for our youngsters. I personally would play a second team against them. However, the win will not be guaranteed. Astana is an experienced, disciplined, well organized and tactically sound mid-level European team.

I've got a feeling there won't be wholesale changes in this one. Maybe Fred will get his first start of the season, hopefully Greenwood from the start too. Obviously, I'd love to be wrong and we see starts for Tuanzebe and Gomes as well.

Looking forward for this game just to see how young players will step up.

I don't think there will be many changes, it's not like we have numbers either with so many injuries. Hopefully Gomes, Greenwood gets the start at least, with garner getting at least 30 mins coming on as a sub.

    Would like to see:
Romero; Young Tuanzebe Jones Williams; Fred Garner; Greenwood Gomes Chong; Rashford.

Might be overkill with too many players from reserves.

I think Tuanzebe and Greenwood will start for sure.

The bookies have us favourites to win this competition atm. I'd gladly take another Europa League title, and it's a direct path into the Champions League too next season?
Issue with bookies odds is they will change depending on who drops into the Europa league from the CL. Outside us and Chelsea most recent el winners are teams who got dropped into so the best odds now aren’t very relevant for whose most likely to win.

People expecting a youth team will be disappointed. Can’t see Ole playing youngsters from the start, expecting our strongest available lineup.

Yeah, probably Young over AWB to save his injury I reckon but otherwise I'd love to see that team. Rashford up front again I reckon, try to build up his finishing confidence and keep Martial out until he's properly fit.

Nah - he will rest players. I expect Romero, Jones, Tuanzebe, Gomes, Chong and Greenwood to start

Possibly even Lingard if he is fit to play.
