Waste of my time but oh well, onto the quarters.

We better bloody win this competition.

Unfortunately our defense got Jonesed up around midway through the 2nd, but a professional performance albeit a little sloppy on the ball.

Only watched the last 20 minutes but my god the atmosphere at the match tonight was the worst I have heard in years....literally played like we had no fans at all in the stadium

Glad we are through to the quarters though

Small time tactics. Awful game. Uninspiring subs leading to the worst atmosphere that I've heard on TV.
Being so afraid to attack, to entertain against one of the worst teams that have visited United in recent memory does not sit right with me.
I'm not usually negative after a win but feck me that was an insult to match going fans from José.

Made hard work of it. Fellaini done better than Pogba when he came on.

We looked very tired towards the end though.

I think our team are fecked fitness wise. I think the reports of Mou and Fitness manager bust might be true as our team look so tired after 60 mins.
    Hope Pogba is ok soon.

Jose can't coach a decent attack can he. We rely purely on individuals in the final third and not team play, shits bananas.

So far away I get up 4am to just watch Utd on TV
Glad that's over! Phew ... again our lack of finishing puts undue pressure on our defense!

Clearly the ruskies plan to park the bus and see if they can get to 60 minutes without conceding worked!
In thought we were patient and created enough chances to score an important first goal before half time but once again none was forthcoming :(

Fellaini is not an ideal replacement for a playmaker like Pogba but at the end of the day he had another decent game and showed some class & composure in the last 15 minutes that was much appreciated.

Jonesey is as big a liability as we have at LB! That good run he had alongside Rojo is well behind him now and he's looking like a man very short of the confidence when he plays anywhere but CB ... scary today!

Romero was my MoM, although Valencia was massive once again. Mata worked his socks off and deserved his goal while Herrera performed his usual disruptive role but never really became constructive.

Bailly & Smalling were safe enough despite not getting the goals we needed to remove the stress.

Managerless Boro next and potentially a weak looking United team to go up against what will be an unpredictable team perhaps trying to prove a point?

    Must get 3 points!!!!

18 shots, 4 on target, not impressed. Haven't seen the game, my sister had a vernissage.

All in all, a boring game to watch. We had some moments of magic with the Mkhitaryan chip miss. The goal was a good and important goal; just goes to show you how important Mata can be. Certain things I took notice of was that with Pogba subbed couple min into the second half, we didn't really struggle. We had control of the game. Could very well be because of the team we were playing. Anyway, hopefully it wasn't a knock that would make him miss games. Fellaini did pretty well of keeping possession of the ball. He did fine bringing the ball down and distributing. But I did notice there were times when the midfield was empty. The defenders couldn't pass the ball forward because the forwards were up or some of the midfielders were up to. They needs to be more of a balance and someone to connect the defense to the offense. We should be playing a lot better at home and when I mean better, I mean putting the game to bed in the first half by scoring 2 goals. OT needs to be a fortress again where teams should be afraid of us. Zlatan had some good moments as well but he's also struggled in patches.

Must be tough, though, knowing the formation before and still only managing 10 of the starters and substitutes. Feel you, bro.
Lets not try and switch it round, pal.

Not once did I say I knew what team Mourinho was going to play; however, I did say he was going to three at the back and he did.

You must feel pretty silly as you were pretty cocky about it beforehand. It's gone now, though. I was right. Chin up.

I said several times you were right, even congratulated you on it. By our performance tonight, Mourinho wasn't, though. And he probably won't be either on Sunday. So, to make it short, you were right because you were wrong as Mourinho was. ;)

You think fitness coach over worked players in training against Mourinho orders and thats the reason they had a bust up?

Makes Sense as team are so knackered?

    Interesting

Even though we won it's so frustrating. I can't help but think we're just a team of overpaid average players.
