Fulham Football Club (also known as The Cottagers or The Whites), is a professional association football club based in Fulham, West London, England. Fulham were formed in 1879 as Fulham St Andrew's Church Sunday School F.C., founded by worshipers (mostly adept at cricket) at the Church of England on Star Road, West Kensington (St Andrew's, Fulham Fields). Fulham's mother church still stands today with a plaque commemorating the team's foundation. They won the West London Amateur Cup in 1887 and, having shortened the name from Fulham Excelsior to its present form in 1888, they then won the West London League in 1893 at the first attempt.

Fulham started playing at their current ground at Craven Cottage in 1896, their first game against now defunct rivals Minerva. Fulham are one of the oldest established clubs in southern England currently playing professional football, though there are many non-league sides like Kent side Cray Wanderers who are several decades older. The club gained professional status on 12 December 1898, the same year that they were admitted into the Southern League's Second Division. They were the second club from London to turn professional, following Arsenal, then named Royal Arsenal 1891.

After suffering relegation to The Championship in 2013, Fulham have been on a road to recovery and were promoted to the Premier League on 26 May 2018, by winning 1–0 in the 2018 EFL Championship play-off Final against Aston Villa. Fulham fans consider their main rivals to be Chelsea, followed by Queens Park Rangers. They also have rivalries with other London clubs, including Brentford and Crystal Palace.

Gutted we have to wait a week to watch us under Carrick.

    Lammens
    Mazraoui - Maguire - Martinez - Shaw
    Mainoo - Casemiro
    Amad - Bruno - Cunha

    This is the test

Can we turn up against against "poorer" teams

They're flying at the min so hopefully won't sit back

I'm here to be the negative bastard who says it's all for nothing if we can't put these away next week.

Cliche and all that, but the real test. Pressure on us for the first time, can't sit back, need to break them down

    This!!

I'll be at OT for this, can't wait to see how we play.

Carrick's first real test, though I am being at least half serious here. Need to keep up the same kind of performance we did today after Arsenal's first goal.

This has now become the most vital match of the season. We cannot let our level drop to the level of our opponent, as we've so often done this season.

Might be harsh after today, but I'd start with:

    .........................Mbeumo............................
    ....................................................................
    Cunha................Bruno......................Amad
    .....................................................................
    ................Case...........Mainoo.....................
    .....................................................................
    Shaw..........Licha......Maguire..............Maz
    .....................................................................
    .........................Lammens...........................

Maz and Cunha in. Stop Harry Wilson scoring some wondergoals. Take the three points and we all go home smiling

Anything but a win will be a huge disappointment and a two step back. But that’s for another day. Just enjoy this moment. It may not come again.

Very excited but intrigued to see how we perform against a team that we are expected to dominate possession against & see how we can break down their low block.

Can we get 10 points or more from these next 5 games against Fulham, Spurs, West Ham, Everton and Palace. We got 6 points from our first meeting against those teams and this is where we have a real problem.

Let’s see what happens as it’s an unknown quantity with Carrick in charge.

There’s a lot of reason to be positive about our chances against a “lesser” team. We’ve had a lot of good fast intricate link up in the last couple of matches and the long range shooting has definitely been on point. Both will be really helpful against more defensive teams.

Going for 2-0 in this one. Cunha and Mainoo.

Looking forward to this one! Dunno how you're supposed to do that these days.

Very curious about this game. I think it'll tell us a lot more about where we stand than the last couple, as fantastic as they were.

    Lammens
    Dalot Maguire Martinez Shaw
    Amad Casemiro Mainoo Cunha
    Bruno Mbeumo

Different type of test. We need to rack up as many points as possible from this next block of games.

Fulham one of the few teams we looked ok under Amorim, not quite the test some are making. Amorim got an away win last season, we beat them at home under ETH and this season got a draw. Fulham, Ipswich, Everton of last season were our doable games while the rest roasted us.

Desperate to see us continue the good performances. Think I'm traumatised from all the false dawns over the years

A bit of a stretch, though I get the point you're making. Beating two of the best three teams in the league counts for less if drop points against midtable teams.

I think we will win this comfortably. Carrick & Steve Holland will come up with a tactical master plan to beat their low block.

I have no worries about Carrick and the tactics. The big worry is the players and how they will react, we have all seen them turn up full of energy and hunger against the big teams before but as soon as we play an "easier" team they show up with their 80% effort attitude.

This is absolutely the real test. What bodes well is the way we are trying to play, good technical football against pressure, tight control in close spaces. That's the type of intricate football we'll need against a defensive team

Have to win this one. Just perform as we have for the majority of the last two games and the results should follow.

    We’ll win this.

Big weekend next week. Liverpool vs Newcastle, Arsenal away at Leeds and Spurs vs Man City who always seem to get something from them!

Arsenal drop points at Leeds and Villa could be right in the mix at home to Brentford on Sunday!

Everyone seeing Dorgu giving way for Cunha?

Given we're likely to be playing against a much more defensive team, does it make more sense for Shaw to drop, play Dorgu there, and he can play the role very high and give us more attacking options?

I agree. Big games we have done 'OK' in but not this well admittedly. Us being the team to counter has not been the issue, the issue has been us trying to break teams down easily

If the players perform and apply themselves like they have in the past two wins, we should win again. What I am wary of is, that they have shown they have it in them to follow two exceptional wins with a nothing performance. However, hopefully that is more Amorim than the players. Actually looking forward to the game, after another week of feeling smug.

If Dorgu is fit it’d be worth a try but I think he’ll be injured.
