Hope for a big rotation from Ole.

    De Gea

    Williams
    Lindelof
    Tuanzebe
    Telles

    Matic
    Mc Tominay

    Mata
    Van de Beek
    James

    Greenwood
This is the team against Roachdale, not the team that previously beat out Napoli from the same competition we're in.

That being said, Im ok with most of that team besides the midfield.

Almost everyone has gone for Axel starting. He should not be starting for us under any circumstances, he’s a disaster more often than not. If he is to start, I’d put him at RB as Wan-Bissaka never seems to get a break. Too big a risk in the middle though for me.

I’d like to think Hannibal will be involved in the squad for this one.
theres not many other options with Maguire suspended, Bailly likely to be out and Jones no where to be seen

edit, thought I was on the latest page so apologies as people have already said this

How can go with the strongest 11 with so many injuries and suspensions?
Well yeah, allowing for any injuries. I forgot we had suspensions to be honest :(

I just think Ole will field close to the strongest team we possibly can, he rarely fields a weakened side. I know Granada were tame in the first leg but they are capable on their day, last thing we need is an upset in this one.

Yeah we lost Maguire, McTominay and Shaw to accumulated yellows. Bailly has COVID. Our strongest 11 on Thursday will be far from our strongest line up.

like to see a few youngsters given time even if only from the bench. need to see what they are like in game with some meaning. if we score early (hmmm), granada wont get three then get at least three of the kids on. and give donny 90 mins come what may

    Wholesale changes for me.

Granada are poor and shouldn't have anything to scare us outside of Kennedy.

    DDG,

    Telles, Tuanzebe,Lindelof,AWB

Matic, VDB, Mata, Amad, Greenwood, Elanga.

We've got the bench and 5 subs to change things IF the worst did happen.

    AWB--Tuanzebe--Lindelof--Telles
    Matic--Fred
    Amad--VdB--Pogba
    Greenwood

Take Pogba off after 45. Keep all the other big guns on the bench if needed. I would personally start James instead of Pogba but I don't think Ole will go that far

Been reported that Eric Bailly will be back for this game, if so himself and Lindelof should be the two centre backs for this game. Tuanzebe unlikely to start unless he's played at right back instead of Wan-Bissaka?

Would love to see Diallo given a start. But I think it's more likely we bring him on once we're in front.
I think the team will be pretty close to this. Got to finish the job first then get a kid or two on, get Pogba off as early as possible.

Not sure if James will be fit. Possibly Mata could come in.

Wouldn’t mind a look at Williams at RB and give AWB a rest.

    Field a decent team please.

All it takes is 2 improbable brain farts from anyone in defence and they are on level terms.

Give some players a rest. The risk is low and reward high for giving a rest.
Bruno, Shaw, Rashford, and Pogba should be rested. Won't be an exciting game but just need to get through. Maguire, McTominay and Shaw are apparently out. So:

    DeGea
    AWB, Lindelof, Bailly, Telles
    Fred, Matic
    VDB
    Greenwood, Cavani, James

Well, I've only seen it here and since the writer doesn't even know that McTominay is suspended and therefore not an option at the back, I'm not 100% sure it's reliable. Article also says Axel is injured so who knows what the back line is going to look like.

That said, other articles note the source is from a reliable Twitterati.

Journalist Jonathan Shrager said Bailly is back for this game, he's usually reliable?

Would like to see Donny as part of the midfield 2 rather than as a no 10, hope Amad gets a decent run out too.

Will the match be played in Old Trafford, since neither Chelsea nor L’pool have played their last home CHL games in England?

Yeah I don't think he will, I think Ole will go full strength from the start. I'd like to see the squad trusted though!

I fancy giving Tuanzebe a game and save Bailly for the weekend. Lindelöf needs to rest against Burnley.

If Maguire gets a yellow against Burnley he's out for both Leeds and Liverpool. Solskjær might be tempted to rest Maguire although he did play him in almost the exact same scenario last season, a yellow at Burnley would mean he was out for Liverpool, just the one game.

I'd maybe go Matic/Pogba in midfield... mainly 'cos I hate the Fred/Matic partnership and you can use Matic's height to help out Axel/Lindelof.

    DDG

    AWB ---- Lindelof ---- Axel ---- Telles

    Matic ---- Pogba

    VDB

    Mata --- Greenwood --- James

Though I think he'll probably start Bruno (rest be damned!) and have VdB on the wing instead of Mata who might not be match fit. Rashford shouldn't see a single minute of this game unless shits hitting the fan.

De Gea rather than Henderson because Deano is no.1 now. Rest AWB, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, and Bruno for Sunday while Maguire can start on the bench against Burnley to avoid the potential suspension.

Would like to see Rashford given an extended break until the Leeds game as well.

Interesting snippet from Ole in the presser when asked about our home vs away form. He said some of the players had flagged that they have been finding it more difficult to pick out red shirts in their peripheral vision due to the red banners that now cover the empty seats. Says it will be changed

Bit of a gamble but I didn't see a great deal in that Granada side that could hurt us last Thursday.

If Diallo doesn't get a start here, safe to say he's a player for next season or OGS isn't seeing enough in training, I'd try and start a less often played team and hold out to go through but have the big boys on the bench incase it's needed, I'd start with a decent team still, something like:

    DDG
    Williams Bailly Tuanzabe Telles
    Matic VDB
    Diallo Mata (c) James
    Greenwood

Ole is very risk adverse so I'd expect a similar team to second leg Sociedad and then some minutes for Diallo etc later on. These are the poorest footballing team I think we've played all season and my biggest worry is them injuring some of our players

Thing is most of you all are putting out fairly weak teams, if he does do that and we go out tomorrow, you'd all be complaining that he can't even beat Granada, so on the aspect he wants and the club wants trophies, I expect a much stronger side than we all expect.

Maybe Will Fish will get some minutes? Don't see why he'd been brought in considering most of our defence is either suspended or injured for this game

Will Fish is the latest Academy product to be promoted to Manchester United's Europa League squad.

The local lad has been training with the first-team group this week as defenders Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are unavailable for the quarter-final second leg against Granada due to suspension.

Fish is a tall centre-back who has risen through the ranks at the club. Although still eligible for the Under-18s, he has been a regular in the Premier League 2 side this term under lead coach Neil Wood.

The 18-year-old has also appeared in this year's FA Youth Cup and will relish the experience of being around Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's senior squad.

I expect the side to be closer to this and that's about as much as Ole would risk it given the suspensions:

    AWB Lindelöf Tuanzebe Telles
    Matic Pogba
    Diallo VdB James

Probably be James over Amad but I’d play...

    AWB Lindelof Tuanzebe Telles

    Matic McSauce
    Mata

    Greenwood VDB James

Back 5 selects itself really given what is available. Hope we give Mata an appearance - also think this is an apt time to try VDB as a false nine. Alternatively it could be VDB in Mata's position, with the latter on the wing with Greenwood up front. I'd like Amad to start, but given the lack of cameos recently I can't see him starting out of nowhere.

I think Ole will go stronger than this - one of Pogba or Bruno will likely start. As long as Rashford gets a break, I'm happy.

UEFA has handed United a €7,000 fine for picking up five yellow cards in the first leg win. Some joke when you consider most fouls weren't yellow card offences and the ref turned a blind eye to Granadas dirty play.

It worked out well for us, imagine missing Maquire and Shaw for the semi-final game.
