Huddersfield Town Association Football Club (nicknamed The Terriers) is a professional football club based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Huddersfield Town were founded in In 1908 at the Albert pub as Huddersfield and the Huddersfield Association Football Ground Co. was formed and, with capital of £500, set about purchasing the Leeds Road recreation fields. The stadium just started as a pitch but was still ready for their first game, which was a local semi-final. On 15 August 1908, Huddersfield Town Association Football Club was registered as a limited company with Fred Walker being appointed as the club's first manager.

In 1910, just three years after being founded, Huddersfield entered the Football League for the first time. In November 1919 a fund-raising campaign was needed to avoid a move to Leeds. Citizens of Huddersfield were asked to buy shares in the club for £1 each, and the club staved off the proposed merger. The team went on to reach the 1920 FA Cup Final and win promotion to Division One.

In 1926, Huddersfield became the first English team to win three successive league titles – a feat that only three other clubs (Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United) have been able to match. Huddersfield Town also won the FA Cup in 1922 and have been runners-up on four other occasions. During the club's heyday, on 27 February 1932 the club achieved a record attendance of 67,037 during their FA Cup 6th round tie against Arsenal at Leeds United. This attendance has been bettered by only 13 other clubs in the history of the Football League. After the Second World War, the club began a gradual decline, losing its First Division status in 1952. After two seasons in the top division in the early 1970s the club spent 45 years in the second, third and fourth tiers of English football before being promoted to the Premier League in 2017

Huddersfield Town's main rivals are Leeds United (although there is never a shortage of beef with neighbours, Bradford City). There are also smaller rivalries with Barnsley, Oldham Athletic and formerly with near neighbours Halifax Town. They play their home games at Kirklees Stadium - having moved there in 1994.

    Bring it on!

Our next 3 games are Huddersfield, Bournemouth and Newcastle, first 2 at home and Newcastle away, should be clear 9 points before going to Spurs at Wembley. Before Spurs game we can be 4 or 5 points away from 4th.

This, Bournemouth, and Newcastle. We can definitely close the gap between 4th.

I'm already getting goosebumps at the thought of the reception Solskjaer will get at Old Trafford.

We play Wednesday, Sunday and Wednesday again. Not sure how much rotation or when we'll see it, because it'll be hard for Ole to change anything after that. Can see the front 3 staying the same, maybe Mata in for Lingard? Maybe fred starting in midfield for Herrera or Matic, and maybe Dalot/Bailly starting but reckon he'll want to keep the back 4. Gonna guess same lineup and then rotation for Bournemouth on Sunday.

Cant wait though. Today was the perfect start and hope we see the same attitude. Always hard to build on a big win but a comfortable 2/3-0 will do me just fine.

Get rid of Young and Jones for Dalot and Bailly and we'll be truly rocking. 6-0.

Hope Greenwood or Chong make the bench. We had no forward on the bench today.

The Cardiff performance was perfect for Sanchez. Finally the team running as much as him and more than the opposition for the first time this season. Can't wait to see him in this rejuvenated side.

    Going for a 5-0....at least.

19% of people think we will win 5-0!
We have only scored 5 goals in 1 league game in about 5 years. Now, people think we will score 5 goals, twice in the space of 1 week?

    Let’s score 9
Anything less than 5-0 and I’ll be disappointed.
Get rid of Young and Jones for Dalot and Bailly and we'll be truly rocking. 6-0.
    This is madness!

Don't know whether Ole will try and keep momentum by playing the same team or put in a few changes, knowing games will be coming thick and fast.

Think I would go with the same. If we can get a decent lead, then take off players who may need a rest.

Look forward to seeing United administer an old school spanking at Old Trafford once again

Will be a nice change from going 1-0 up after 20 mins, shutting up shop for the rest of the game and conceding in the 89th Min

Finally a game to look forward to. Number of goals scored is not so important (though would not mind for another 5 to go in). Priority should be to win, play positive and keep a clean sheet.

Fred was good when he came on, should get more minutes in this game. Would prefer Ole made changes in this game and then get the best team to play against Bournemouth which will be a far bigger test.

    Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.
Ole said he expects the players to be further apart than being so bunched together.

They will be learning to trust each other more. Reading the plays better.

Lots more tuning. Remember he did this within 3 days..of course with Carrick and McKenna's help.

People were reluctant to vote a 5-0 win before.

The Cardiff thread was full of jokes when we voted 5-0.

Now it seems realistic isn't it?

I vote for 5-0, OT erupts

I think we should play the same team with 1/2 changes to ensure freshness during the busy period. Ie Herrera for Fred, Dalot for one of the fullbacks etc. Nothing tactical in relation to player changes, just christmas rotations.

Kind of want him to stick with the same XI, but I think they'll be two or three changes. I'd go for Dalot and Fred in, Young and Matic out. Sub on Pereira, Mata, and probably Fellaini.
