i think McNair should be playing, he's earned it. feck all this is one of those lineups LVG seems to pull out of his backside every now and again.
di Maria not on the wing? that will help.
    It's a good line up.

I don't think Falcao was likely to start and risk injury again by playing him for 70+ minutes, not happy about the 3-5-2 though.

If the order of the names as listed by the official MUFC twitter account is anything to go by then it looks like:

    ------------------DDG
    -----Smalling----Carrick------Rojo
    Valencia--Mata--Fellani---Di Maria---Young
    ------------Rooney---RVP

    Another possibility:

    De Gea
    Smalling Carrick Rojo Young
    Fellaini
    Valencia Rooney Mata Di Maria
    RVP

    or

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Carrick Rojo
    Fellaini
    Mata Di Maria Rooney Young
    RVP

3-5-2... normally I'd hate it, but I think it could work for this game... only negative for me is RVP starting over Wilson/Falcao.
Wilson has a knock so it's wise to rest him as opposed to making his injury worse.

Falcao has just returned from injury and we all know the problems he has had therefore bring him on for the last half hour.

    feck knows.

It's a diamond/3-5-2 hybrid I reckon. Carrick being the pivotal player between CB and midfield.
Switch rooney and mata of course, but I reckon as we're home, hull city will park the bus so Van gaal is fine with putting 2 wingers like valencia and young at fullback. It's like a 3-5-2, but as you say, a diamond hybrid. A diamond where the fullbacks will be like wing backs.

That's some bench. I'm just happy that Falcao is back and will most likely feature today.

Haha, didn't expect that lineup. And after seeing LvG's comments to Guardian I had a feeling the previously undroppable RvP would be dropped. But it makes sense if Wilson is injured because Falcao is probably not fit enough to last 60 mins. Shame Fellaini gets picked over Herrera, would have preferred Fellaini against Stoke and Herrera against Hull. That back four doesn't exactly fill me with confidence either but we should beat them.

So Van Persie is playing?, after Van Gaal was in the Sun saying how shite he had been so far this season.

So I guess RvP IS undropable
want to see wilson starting but he is not part of the matchday squad so he could be injured more than anything :nervous:

anyway hope rvp can get himself a goal or two and put in some good performance. he badly need this.

poor herrera, cannot get a game these days. falcao to come on and score too please...

So he thinks Carrick is better than both McNair and Blackett as CB suddenly? Wow...Shame that Wilson is injured again..I was really looking forward to see him from start today! Good that Mata is back in the team though.

Hope everyone else near to top has got players wrong for the lineup game, I can only get 10 points max now.
I got 9 out of the 11, including one from the subs. Have the subs been announced?

This? The 3-5-2 doesn't make sense to me because Fellaini, Mata and Di Maria does not look like a good midfield at all.

Apart from our fullbacks, that's a pretty good lineup. Fellaini is undropable at the moment due to his form so I can understand Herrera still sitting it out after coming back from injury. Only question mark is RVP who continues to get picked regardless of his shit form.

    I'm pretty sure it's a 4-4-2 diamond/3-5-2 formation with Carrick stepping forward.

Will be interesting what formation we go with. I'd love to see the diamond with Di Maria back in his best position.

McNair's unlucky to miss out. Hopefully Mata makes an impact

Well that's fecked-up my line-up game entry  8 from the start and only potentially one from the subs

Wilson must be injured I guess.

Wilson injured right? I have a feeling he would have started given LVGs words? Who knows.

Need the three points, hopefully we start off pinning hem back and an early goal.

It's Hull at home. We should win whatever formation.

Hopefully get to see some of those subs later on (Falcao & Herrera) after RVP scores.

    Bring back that mentality.

Carrick starting ahead of those two means we can go to 4-3-3 and be more comfortable.

Really interested to see how this team line up.If it's 352 then one of Mata,Di Maria or Rooney will have to be a CM.I hope it's this:
    De Gea
    Smalling Carrick Rojo
    Valencia Fellaini Di Maria Young
    Mata
    Rooney Van Persie

Wilson's injured apparently (according to Eurosport) and Falcao's only just come back from a couple months off, RVP was bound to start whatever
