Liverpool FC (nicknamed The Reds) are an English professional football club based in Liverpool, England. Liverpool were originally founded in 1892 as "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), before finalizing on the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd after a dispute between the Everton FC board and John Houlding, the owner of Everton's former premise at Anfield Road. Liverpool's forays into competitive football started when they joined the Lancashire League. After winning the league title in their first season, Liverpool were accepted into the Football League for the 1893-94 season, following the resignations of Accrington and Bootle.

One of the most successful and storied clubs in the history of European football, Liverpool have won 18 English league titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, and 8 League Cups, peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, first under the enigmatic Bill Shankly, and then his 'Boot Room' successors. Although Liverpool's fortunes as a domestic and European force have dwindled in the past 25 seasons, they still have a massive global support-base. Liverpool have two fierce historic rivals - crosstown club Everton FC (matches between them are termed The Merseyside Derby), and Manchester United (who ironically ascended to consistent title-winning prominence as Liverpool declined in the Premier League era).

Game of the season. Our most important remaining game if we want to finish second.

Not very optimistic though. They'll press us like crazy and we're not good at all dealing with high pressure. Pogba, Matic and Scott will need to move the ball fast and accurate to avoid that. We don't have Fellaini for the hoof ball.

I expect similar lineup like today with Martial instead of Lingard and maybe Bailly instead of Lindelof. Hope for a win, can see a draw though.

Need Martial and Mata for this one I think. They will press high and will be aggressive so we better be prepared and not panic in possession.

At this point, I'd happily accept a draw. They are flying, we are iffy. Obviously I'd prefer to win 16 nil but we are shaky defensively, and their attack is formidable.

Cannot lose this. Liverpool with their attack could potentially score 2 or 3 against us so we have to be ready.

This is where Jose earns his money

    Bailly or Lindelof
    Shaw or Young
    McTominay or Mata
    Lingard or Martial
    4-2-31 or 4-3-3

    I haven't got a fecking clue

Obviously I'd like us to smash them. But I'd take a draw if it was offered right now.
Defense must have a top notch performance.

We’ve been decent at home and they are very one dimensional. We should look at stopping them before anything else to be honest as they are levels above us in attack. Nullify them and then try and expose their weak defence. A win here would be huge.

I would drop Sanchez and McTominay for this one:

    DDG

    Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Young

    Pogba, Matic

    Lingard, Mata, Martial

    Lukaku

It's a shame because Sanchez and Mata have a very good understanding. Obviously if Martial is carrying a knock then Sanchez starts.

Our full back situation worries me. If Bailly is fit I’d start him at right back and god knows who at left back.

We can’t play Young and Valencia against Mane and Salah.

I reckon we will though, and I’d guess the side will be

    De Gea
    Valencia - Smalling - Lindelof - Young
    McTominay - Matic - Pogba
    Rashford - Lukaku - Alexis

we better be up for this and pass like a fecking team

    --------------------------De Gea------------------------
    TV-----------Lindelof-------------Smalling-----Young
    --------------------------Matic-------------------------
    -----------------Lingard-------------Pogba------------
    Mata-------------------Lukaku-----------------Martial

fullbacks pick themselves due to lack of options - Shaw isn't fit

is Bailly ready? not sure myself - sharpness is key

Mata needs to play and Martial at the expense of Sanchez who hasn't played well in a few games

Really looking forward to this. It’s always a tough place for us to go but we’re in great form and have looked a bit more solid recently.

Mourinho knows how to play against us but I’m confident that we can get a win.

Hoping we’ll line up: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson; Can, Milner, Chamberlain; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Van Dijk vs Lukaku will be a good battle and your defence vs our front three should be good to watch.

I would take a draw. Have to watch Salah so much. Their MF three are not terrible but are not magnificent either. Have to watch their front three like Hawks though.

We’ll need at least 3 goals to win this probably, unless we totally shut it down which I’m not even sure is possible.

It is possible but the way Swansea did it isn’t something Mourinho will do at Old Trafford.

Has to be a 4-3-3. We would be too open otherwise.
Yeah, McTominay will definitly play, unless Herrera is back. i would also consider Carrick there for his experience next to Matic and let Pogba up.

    For me it would be:

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Lindelof Shaw/Young
    Matic McT/Carrick/Herrera
    Pogba/Sanchez
    Mata Martial/Rashford
    Lukaku

I would consider leaving Pogba or Sanchez out.

Well I don’t think the stadium would allow it nor would Mourinho. Could end up in a very exciting game!

Need to be up for this from the first minute. But we're at home, we need to win. Should be on a high after beating Chelsea and now coming back from 2-0 down. Would've loved Herrera to be back, but unlikely. Also in 2 minds about whether we should go 3-5-2 or not. On one hand, McTominay really shouldn't play this game, Carrick is too old so we don't have enough mids. On the other... we collapse without a midfield 3 in big games. But 3-5-2 could possibly make it work. Also we need Bailly and Shaw in from the start. Whether that's in a 3 for Bailly to play with Smalling and lindelof, but young shouldn't play IMO. Would probably go for this though:

    De Gea
    Bailly Smalling Lindelof
    Valencia Matic Pogba Shaw
    Sanchez
    Lukaku Martial

Rashford, lingard and young/mectominay probably as subs to change things when needed.

We mustn't let this victory cloud how shit we were the first half vs Palace, lessons must be learnt.

We absolutely can't have fecking Ashley fecking Young on Salah, start from there.

I fear they will bend us over and do terrible things to us. If we don't match their intensity, they will run riot, and since we rarely go toe to toe with intensity, I am concerned.

Hope we scrape a win, but a draw to stay in 2nd wouldn't be terrible

I said before the Chelsea game it was time one of Lukaku, Sanchez or Pogba really delivered in a big game for us and Lukaku did just that then it's now time for Sanchez or Pogba

Let's surprise them and go for their necks from the first minute. We are at home after all.

Given that Liverpool are notoriously fast starters and we amble out of the blocks but finish strong, the signs aren't good but should be a cracking game.
