The 9 who were on the bench versus Fulham must all be in with a shout of starting v Liverpool, plus Harry (because he never rests) , Williams, and Diallo!!

    Deano
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    Matic - Fred
    Pogba - VDB - Rashford
    Martial

Cavani, Bruno, Greenwood can come on and kill them, they are playing tonight and have less than 72 hours rest.

We have almost 4 days we don’t really need a rest but id like to play VDB in this one and a bit more composure in the ball hence Matic.

Now let’s see if the “missed opportunity” comes to fruition. This could be a game our mentality changes for the better.

Considering we receive Sheffield at home on Wed, we can afford to put our best XI, or almost the best one on Sunday as we can't afford to be ashamed at home against them.

Wish Ole plays 5 at the back to kill them on counter, but suppose he will play 4231 as usual.

I think we should rest our key players, and focus on the league.
I think that will be the thinking with Ole.
Interested to see if Klopp thinks the same.

I think the less first team players on the pitch may make it a more enjoyable game.

Yeah, I think ole will ring in the changes for this one.

    Something like this maybe:

    Henderson

    Williams Lindelof Maguire Telles

    Mctom Matic

    AVB

    James Rashford Diallo
It's probably too soon in his development for Diallo, but I'm a football fan and don't think about stuff like that. Just wanna see him play.

It's probably wishful thinking, but this could be the perfect opportunity for VDB to make his name. It would take a mahooosive performance from Donny, but it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for Bruno to have a bit of competition, whilst also being able to rotate him as and when necessary without fear of a massive drop off in productivity. The more players we can get firing the harder we are as a team to stop.

We must give a rest to a few of the regulars. I would love to win the FA Cup, but if we are serious about the league as well as Europe, we must save a bit of energy.
    I would go with
    Henderson
    Williams - Lindelöf - Tuanzebe - Telles
    McTominay - Matic
    van de Beek
    Greenwood - Martial - James

I would play Martial, as sooner or later we need him to get some goals. He is not good at the moment, hopefully it will change soon. Cavani to get a rest before three crucial PL matches.

And the scousers will rest a few as well. No worries.

Bruno and Pogba should be rested for this one. Liverpool are playing tonight with less than 72 overs for the cup game afterwards and may themselves rotate significantly. I would say rest Maguire as well.

I'd rotate some but it's Liverpool - we are going to play a strong side.

    Henderson
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Telles
    McTominay - Pogba
    Mata - Donny - Rashford
    Cavani

Ole should start with a front 3 of Ighalo, Mctominay and Maguire and bombard them with long balls...

Shaw, Bruno and Pogba need to stay on the bench for this one. They are our 3 best players atm.

    Feck resting.

We had the extra day rest, we have the worst team in the league at home next week while they have Spurs. They'll be resting players, we need to go for it. We haven't beat these cnuts for 3 or 4 years.

VDB could score a first half hattrick and wouldn't displace Bruno as a No10, so I'd rather he could position himself as a substitute for Pogba in the Pogba/Fred or Pogba/Matic pivot.

    Hendo
    Tuanzebe Lindelof Maguire Telles
    McTominay VDB
    Greenwood Mata Rashford

Going into this one buzzing and actually not worried too much.

I don't think they can field a strong team with them lagging in the league.

2 - 0 routine win, please start VdB

Is there a chance of Pool fielding a weakened side considering they have Spurs 4 days later?

Got a feeling Ole is going to go full strength for this one simply because it’s against Liverpool.

Think there’s more chance of him resting players for the Sheffield Utd game in midweek before the Arsenal match.

Agreed. I honestly wouldn't mind if we played a full second string and got hammered - you can see from our most recent games the first XI is really on the cusp of fatigue, we've scraped wins over the packed festive period against average teams by 1 goal in pretty much every game. Need to avoid EL and FA cup games to have any chance of being in the fight come May.

We will see a similar team to the fulham game, no way ole doesnt prioritise this game. Its silverware and we would remove one big contender. Im guessing fred and mct with pogba bruno rash and cavani up top. Lindelöf and maguire with shaw and awb. Henderson in goal.

If we would put a reserve team and lose 5-0 people would go mental here. We need a win against Liverpool.

I would like to believe that ole will be less romantic and more pragmatic in relation to this game. In this crazy year, we have a shot at a league title and nothing should mess this up for us.

Both the FA cup and europa should involve heavy rotation. They hold very little importance compared to what we could potentially achieve

Liverpool will rest key players for this game. I wish we could rest Pogba and Fernandes too and play Van De Beek and Matic/Mata.

The fact that Salah and Firmino have been dropped and Henderson is not playing tonight could mean that they all might start on Sunday. I expect both teams to rotate but it won't be the reserves against reserves.

Firmino and Salah benched for tonight's game and Henderson missing all together, seems like Klopps getting them rested for the weekend so seems they will be taking it very seriously

    I'd go:

    Henderson
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Telles
    Fred Matic
    *** Pogba Rashford
    Martial

I'd have played Telles instead of Shaw against Fulham, so Shaw gets to play this one. Maybe play Shaw anyway, and then play Telles against Sheffield United.

Think Pogba should start in that attacking midfield role with the freedom Fernandes usually gets. Could give us a better chance at victory. Not sure why Matic hasn't been starting lately, but I'd start him ahead of McTominay who hasn't been very good.

All on those bench last night would be starters in this cup tie had United drew the long straw.

I'd expect no more than 4 or 5 changes to the starting 11 on Sunday and Klopp will field team a strong also.
