In relation to Maguire’s 4 yellows , was there not a rule that you had to reach 5 before January to receive a one match ban?
Im not clued up on the rules but maybe it is after so many games as we haven't played as many games as we would of at this point of the year in a normal season.

    It’s actually incorrect, but nevermind.
Can you point me to one bookie site in the world that has us as favourites?

We might be favourites in your view, but statistically we are not.

Anyway moving on. I fancy the draw and us to do them on pens.

Will Jesus and Walker be back for this one ? Garcia, Torres and Ederson will miss it - and maybe also Mendy who had his own party...so he might get an internal punishment (however its City so maybe they wont)

Aguero, Fernandinho, Mahrez and Mendy are all starting on the bench - so they will probably play

5 yellow before the 19th game - will earn a ban - so if Maguire gets a yellow against Burnley he wont play against Liverpool

Ederson, Ferran Torres, Tommy Doyle, Kyle Walker, Gabriel Jesus and Eric Garcia all miss out for today's game after being tested positive for coronavirus i presume they are out of this semi final also?

That's still quite a powerful line up City have put out against Chelsea. Still think United are favorites but it will be tough.

They’re putting in a prime 2018 City performance today. Annoying that we have them right after this when their confidence can’t be higher. Neither can ours though, so let’s see. It will not be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm not too worried. I'd be more worried if City were in a bad streak and lost a couple of games because then you just know they're due a win.

Just like it was the worst moment for Chelsea to face Arsenal because there's just no way Arsenal were gonna lose another game.

No we are not. They are a bloody good team. Never underestimate Pep.
I had us down as very slight favorites because we're playing without major injuries, have a slight advantage of rest (although that's very debatable given everything that's happened) and City's absentees in defence, and also psychologically this United team are starting to be a thorn in City's side and they're very wary of our counter attack.

However, as I said, look at that City midfield and attack today and how they destroyed Chelsea in the first half and you'd be absolutely mad to underestimate that (they also have Augero and Mahrez on the bench). This will be a tough game.

I won't base my prediction on the cup game just because of City's performance vs Chelsea.

Tbf, Arsenal were losing so much I genuinely thought their players couldn’t put it together anymore and they were just a relegation team now. Obviously, they won, but I still rather face a team that looks like they can’t get a win for love nor money than one bursting with confidence.

    Against Chelsea now:

City had some moments of individual brilliance. I didn't really see any patterns of play from them, it was much more about Chelsea being that bad in the first half. Chelsea were asleep in defense, kept losing the ball in mid and had nobody that could carry a threat up top before doing their 2 changes in the second half.

I didn't see anything that really scared me before our match on Wednesday. As long as we start the game with our attention turned on we should win it without too much trouble.

Chelsea play tactically naive football and frankly ole is much better than lampard in that department.

This will be a game of equals and no point assigning a favorite tag to any team

I hope citys win today gives them confidence to attack us on Wednesday unlike the previous Derby.
We'll slaughter them on the counter.

Despite City destroying Chelsea, they still had quite a bit of space to operate in that first half and I'd be confident in Bruno, Pogba, Rashford etc doing more with it than Chelsea managed today.

    They looked freaking faultless today.

Maybe Chelsea played in their hands, but still.
We can't make the same mistake they did today. We also have to play long balls if they decide to press us high up the pitch.

Cavani would be perfect, i don't trust Martial to control the ball with his back on the defender.

Maybe playing Pogba close to the front two could be a solution to their high pressing.

It will be a cracking game.

Positive is that it's a single tie game and we're coming in on a run of 4 home league wins.
No reason to rest anyone and a great chance to bank a final a good few months away.

City's movement today was a masterclass in deorganising an opponent. Chelsea were naive by committing too many players in their attacks but once they were a goal down, then two, they didn't really have a choice. City spared them in the second half, conserving energy for the semi-final.

Must win game. Full strength team. We can rest players for the Watford Cup game. Ole needs to get this team to a final. It'll be a huge tonic as we navigate the rest of the season.

I was confident but after seeing City destroy Chelsea I'm not so sure now.

I was talking shit on purpose. But smartly nobody took the bait.

City played the game well, but Chelsea was naive. I have full faith that we will make it a bigger contest on Wednesday. Fully expect it to be tight. Both teams want to win with the least amount of resources/energy spent.

2 days extra rest. One leg which is at home. City without at least 5 players including their first choice keeper.

Won't be easy whatsoever but we won't get a better chance than this. I think we can do it.

If they turn up and we turn up, they win. Let’s hope that they don’t turn up.
