    They looked freaking faultless today.

Maybe Chelsea played in their hands, but still.
We can't make the same mistake they did today. We also have to play long balls if they decide to press us high up the pitch.

Cavani would be perfect, i don't trust Martial to control the ball with his back on the defender.

Maybe playing Pogba close to the front two could be a solution to their high pressing.

It will be a cracking game.
Did they? Must have missed the error strewn opening minutes

Eww. City fans would never suck United off like this. Faultless... gross.

Don't care how we setup as long as Fred is there to combat those tiny tiki taka wannabes. Dont even mind James getting minutes.

Fine fine....maybe a bit over the top.

Thing is, i haven't watched them this season at all.
Just took a look at the table now and then and saw they weren't all that.

Watched the game today. I expected them to be bad, considering the covid and all that.

Apart from the shaky start, they were really good, and for a sustained periods of time.
Even 3 up KDB was pressing like it's the first minute. Man is pure football. Complete player.

Wan bissaka is going to be so good on Wednesday because he doesn't have to worry about any crosses.

This game is also more important than we realize. City have won the last 2. Need to end that.

On one hand it's an opportunity for Ole to finally make a final and have a shotof a trophy. Winning something, even league cup would be big for him and the team, confidence and season wise.
We're on a good run and winning this would be great to continue it.

Ole proved he knows how to handle them so hopefully he'll know what to do now too. Hit them on the counter I say. :)

As others said no big changes, we can make changes vs Watford, go all infor this game.

    Better assessment.

The position KDB played today is unlikely to be the set up on Wed night. It was too clever for Chelsea who packed a lot of forwards and played right into their hands.

Without Cavani, our formation will likely be the same as the one against Villa, with Bruno dropping off the front 2. I expect KDB to be back in the middle with more pronounced forwards

2 days extra rest. One leg which is at home. City without at least 5 players including their first choice keeper.

Won't be easy whatsoever but we won't get a better chance than this. I think we can do it.
Always get bad vibes going into a game like this as the favourite.

Can see us only winning 3-0 rather than 4-0 which would very disappointing.

So City didn't put in 2 crosses from the left that led to goals...or were they passes? Seems to be a confusion over the semantics

Definitely semantics. AWB only suffers from cross field passes. He would have challenged and blocked Debruyne's pass to Foden.

Wish this was a league fixture instead. City aren't at full strength despite what the did to Chelsea.

Difficult to predict this one. Actually two days ago I was confident in beating them and finally reaching a final, but with their display yesterday, I think it will be very hard to beat them.

Since we had 4 days rest and an FA Cup game this weekend, we can go with the best XI possible.

Hope Ole goes for a 532 as this is the best solution to counter them.

Also, with his display, I can't see how Pogba will not play this game against City.

I don't think we'll go 352 this time. And we probably shouldn't either - City is playing with considerably more emphasis on guarding against counterattacks than before.

I'd be tempted to play the same team as against Villa. Playing Pogba higher up the pitch suits him and us better and he provides a clear out ball.

So if City don't want to play this due to Covid, does that mean they forfeit the game? Didn't Spurs get a walk through for one of the games?

Fred is going to keep De Bruyine in his pocket. Best performance of his career, coming up.

Win and we go 3 points clear at the top for the first time in, what, 7 years? I honestly cannot recall.

But yeah, that's the state of play.

Well maybe we shouldn't be as stupid. They were faultless. No one's saying it to please City fans or because we care what they think, it's said because it's true.
Chelsea made them look faultless but there are plenty of faults there to be exploited. Despite recent form, Stones is simply not a top class defender and they have no decent centre forward.

Chelsea were bad beyond believe and City might well be a little bit softened up coming into this match. We need to be ultra physical and rough them up a bit and I think we’ll beat them just about.

On first watch the Chelsea game gave me a bad feeling about this match. But I rewatched parts of it today and I actually feel confident we will get a result. Chelsea couldn't have played more into their hands. A load of pretty, possession-reliant attacking midfielders, zero presence or grit up front and no-one in the box half the time, and in Kovacic a player who simply could not hack having to fight for the ball and started sulking about 25 minutes in. Kante might as well have been on his own.

In the second half City looked markedly more anaemic, the actual penetrative attacking stuff all came between 15 and 45. Note that they only actually had 6 shots on target; for comparison, we had 9 in our much more even game against Villa. And all it took for Chelsea to come back into it for the last 25 minutes was a bit of fight and energy in the form of Hudson-Odoi and Gilmour.

Fred and McTominay live for this stuff. We have all the tools to take this.

    They're looking good again.
They've been playing decent in the last couple of weeks BUT we have Ole and his luck.
I'm confident, not in our team's ability to score goals, or Ole's ability to set us up to win or to defend against MCFC's attackers, but I am very confident that if necessary, we'll get a penalty that isn't a penalty if that is what is required to get a draw or win.
We should've drawn the Villa match, but Ole and his luck ensured we got the win.

If his luck can somehow get us a title win, then I'm all for it.

I honestly can't see how MCFC can win this match for reasons stated above.

The covid postponement has given them a 7 day break in the middle of the busiest section of the season. Probably why they looked fresher.
