I'm torn between the obvious logic of starting Ronaldo and Ole's tendency to bring players in gradually. I'd start Ronaldo but we shouldn't be too surprised if we see Ronaldo subbed in at the 65th minute, to the roar of the home supporters, by which time I hope we're up a nervy 2-0 needing only a goal by Ronaldo to see the opposition finished off.

I'd like to see Donny get the start over Matic. With all due to respect to Newcastle, they're just not going to overrun us with possession so let's give Donny the chance to prove his point that he can play at 6. But Ole won't do that, so Matic it will be with Pogba sitting a little deeper. Greenwood and Sancho on the wings, Bruno in his customary role and Ronaldo up top.

Other than that, I really do hope that we'll see Donny get a start. I'd go for Donny and Matic in the midfield and Pogba on the left as Sancho isn't 100% fit.

Simply the best team we can field right now. Only change I can possibly see is Lingard starting over Sancho due to the fact that Sancho is coming off the back of a knock and Ole might feel a little obliged to play Jesse. Only real weakness is the slow midfield but should have enough quality to win well.
Always a chance of Newcastle party crashing but we must be bullish coming into the game so we should really be winning this game. 3-0 United with Ronaldo scoring.I think Cavani is banned because he is South American isn't it? Same as Fred.

Since Fred has been cleared to play, he will definitely start. The pairings I really don't like are Donny+Matic and Matic+Fred. Have we ever had Fred+Donny?

De GeaWhether VDB performs or not is one thing but in theory I don't see a midfield of him and Fred being less balanced than the already flawed Pogba/Fred midfield. And it means Pogba plays in the position where we'll get the most out of him offensively. Obviously in the long run Sancho is gonna be a starter but he's still finding his feet atm.
