I'd start quite strong, Forest are easily capable of an early goal and that would change everything.

    Heaton

    AWB - Maguire - Martinez - Malacia

    Cas - Fred

    Antony - Mainoo - Garnacho

    Weghorst
Make changes at half time if you can. I would like to see Sancho come on.
Swap Casemiro for McTominay and that's the team I'd like to see. Would love to see Sancho come on too, and Pellistri at the earliest opportunity, if not from the start.

They signed Shelvey, the players need to be careful if he takes any part in the game.

The bigger concern right now should be Saturday. Imperative we field our strongest team and get 3 points to get back on track in the league.

If we can't see out a 3-0 lead at home against Forrest with reserves we have no business in a cup final.

    De Gea

    Malacia
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    AWB

    Fred
    McTominay
    Mainoo

    Garnacho
    Weghorst
    Elanga

Aim to give minutes to Sancho, Pellistri, Iqbal, Mainoo

ETH does not rotate much, but I hope he will do it this time. We are 3-0 up and should be able to win. However with Eriksen and McT out there are not many alternatives on the central midfield.

    ................Heaton............

Probably mate, what did he say? He's training again? Progressing or something?
Basically that he’s in contention to play and they’ll decide based on training etc.

I suspect he’ll feature on Wednesday.

The club posted some videos of him training and looking quite happy the other day.

I feel like Casemiro should start to ensure we don't blow our lead. RW will be Sancho if he's ready if not then may be Elanga but if Elanga is preparing to leave for loan move then Pellistri.

    DDG
    AWB - Maguire - Martinez - Malacia
    Casemiro - Fred
    RW - Mainoo - Garnacho
    Weghorst

No need to go full strength here. We have a prem game Saturday. Rest rashford, rest Casemiro. Fred and mctominay should have enough to see this game off. Hopefully sancho is back with fire in his belly. Want him to start playing on the right to give competition to Antony. He’s had no competition yet so it’s been easy for him to start every game. Garnacho should occupy the left.

    Yeah Antony definitely needs competition

    Rest all of them.

Period is scary with Palace at home, twice Leeds, Barcelona etc. So this is the chance to rest the main players.

Just bring on Fernandes, Wan Bissaka, Casemiro and Rashford if we are 2-0 down.

I feel like some people are underestimating this. Forest is still PL team, it's an away game, and they have spent more than 100m this summer on their squad.

We are playing at home and we are not losing 3-0 against them even if we play a second-string team, let's be honest.
Worst case we lose our home ground momentum.

Zidane, Mainoo are the only "kids" / reserve team players
Garnarcho is now a first team member.. Pellistri hasnt played much for us, but he has plenty of experience to be considered a kid.. played in the WC as well.
Whatever side we put out should be strong enough to hold out..

I'm sure the club monitors fitness levels of players.. I remember Arsene talking about players in the red zone and that was 15 years ago..
Anyone who needs rest should be rested..

With 5 subs you really can start strong and change half the team for the second half.

One game a way from our first domestic final in 5 years. Dont mess it up.
3-0 looks commanding but if Forest score early its back to game on. if they grabbed a 2nd bottles would be going. All hypothetical but Forest are not some minnows they are premier league team Who were on a good run of results.
Foolish to assume we are hime and dry and play a weak team.

I don’t think we are going to see massive rotation for this game considering we are 1 result away from the final. I assume we will go with something like:

    DDG
    AWB Maguire Lindelof Malacia
    Fred Casemiro
    Antony Bruno Elanga
    Weghorst

I would want a much weaker team but doesn’t feel like it’s something Ten Hag would do.

Yeah if they score quick three goals (say within first 20 minutes) it’s going to get squeaky and if they manage to grab five in the fist half we will be in massive trouble. Nothing is impossible. Play our strongest team and take players off around 70 minute mark if we are leading by 2-3 at that point.

    Hope we see:

    ---------------------------------------------------Butland-----------------------------------------
    Lindelof------------------------Maguire--------------------Martinez-------------------Malacia
    ------------------------------------------Mainoo---------------Fred-------------------------------
    Sancho---------------------------------------------Pellestri---------------------------Garnacho
    ----------------------------------------------------------Elanga------------------------------------

That's strong enough for a win but no reason to take chances with the likes of Casemiro etc.

    De Gea
    AWB--Lindelof--Maguire--Malacia
    Casemiro--Fred--Mainoo
    Antony--Weghorst--Garrnacho

Subs: De Gea; Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Fernandes, Sancho, Pellistri, Rashford, Martial

I don't want to start Casemiro but who can play ahead of him? It'd be an insane risk to play Iqbal and I don't see ETH doing that. We've just got to hope this team is good enough to be leading after 60 mins then I'd look to bring him off

Sancho and martial to return! All of a sudden we’re looking very strong again! A front 3 of rashford, martial and sancho looked very good pre season. I know it won’t happen tomorrow, be too soon for them both to start.
