Mainoo was poor tonight. I’m not holding my breath for any sort of performance from him at least until he’s back up to speed. But he’s looked poor all season anyway. Mount looks a little more ready but even he looks rusty in his play. This game today has done a lot of damage to us in the end.
Mainoo was poor yet played 9 minutes. Sound.

Was obvious tonights game didn't matter at all for Amorim, understandably. Losing Zirkzee was disappointing, basically means Højlund will definately be starting every EL game from here out, and more chances for Obi in the PL. Casemiro not coming on today tells me he's starting against Lyon, probably with Bruno in the pivot, and Mount/Garnacho ahead of them. Dorgu and Dalot on the WB's( Amass not ready, too soon for Shaw, not to mention Amad). CB's i'd expect to be Maguire, Yoro and Mazraoui. However both Mazraoui and Yoro finishing todays game makes me less certain. Not too many options though, Lindelöf would be a surprise, Heaven and Shaw seems too early to start.
Need Mount, Højlund and Bruno to step up for this game. And whoever the GK is to actually earn his salary. Subs: Lindelöof,Shaw, Mainoo.++

    Expected starting XI:
    ----------------Højlund------------------
    -----Mount------------Garnacho---
    Dorgu--Bruno--Casemiro--Dalot
    ----Yoro--Maguire--Mazraoui----
    ---------------Anyone-------------------

If it goes to penalties, we have to get Bayindir on for them.

Onana will dive the wrong way for every one

I think United will win though, as they should do

    Onana
    Mazraoui - Maguire - Yoro
    Dalot - Bruno - Casemiro - Dorgu
    Garnacho - Hojlund - Mount

Onana needs to pipe up and let Lyon know just how shit they are.

Casemiro was probably our worst player in the away leg, worrying that he's likely to start. He'll need to improve massively if we're to go through.

This is our last chance game and we shouldn't even have gotten this far. We can afford to take a few chances. Throw Shaw in on the left for the first half. Start Obi with our best creators, behind him and put some balls on a plate for him. Keep anyone that won't be here next year away from the first team. Bring Heaven back in for how long he can handle with Yoro on the other side. I'd even give Kone a try for his energy and tenacity. Playing the same shit team, we may as well not bother showing up.

    Mount Obi Bruno

    Shaw Kone Casemiro Dalot

    Heaven Maguire Yoro

    Onana

I know our players have not been doing well but going into the most important game of the season with a left side consisting of Shaw who's been injured for ages and played 3 games this whole season, a 19 year midfielder Kone on their debut, an 18 year Heaven who's played 2 games in defence, and Mount who's barely played more than 15 min in any game all season doesn't seem like a good idea.

    Too much sense, here

We're a better team, and we've definitely played better in Europe than in the PL this season, but I can already see them scoring first and making things difficult for us.
Just find a way to win, I don't care how

When was the last time we played well and won in a game with huge pressure?
We're not the underdogs, we play at home, we have to win.
Was a recipe for disaster lately that.

I would defo still be starting Bayindir over Onana.

Mainoo/Mount in for Ugarte with Bruno dropping deeper. The rest would be the same. Shame it looks like Zirkzee's season (and United Career?) is over.

He as actually saved a few penalty’s for us. Pens aren’t his weak spot. His handling and palming the ball to the opppsition is.

    Onana
    Maz Maguire Yoro
    Dalot Casemiro Bruno Dorgu
    Mount Garnacho
    Hojlund

Don't think Shaw can start but wouldn't mind it if he believes he can last the game, assuming Zirkzee & De Ligt are out, think this is all he is left with unless you replace Mount for Ugarte and switch for Bruno.

I think this will be exactly the line up

Will need a good ref - Lyon were incredibly cynical and in the mould of their manager last week. Go to ground at every chance, surround and pressure the ref, arms waving non stop. Guy last week made 1 or 2 mistakes but was overall quite good considering a hostile home crowd. Get a weak ref and we'll get a red/penalty conceded. Our players never impose themselves in a way that impacts a ref

I said before the first leg, this is a tie we should win on aggregate... should.

I'm pretty sure we'll go a goal behind before starting to play

    Onana
    Maz Maguire Yoro
    Dalot Casemiro Bruno Dorgu
    Mount Garnacho
    Hojlund

I would do the mount ugarte switch, he's played well with case.

    Dalot Casemiro Bruno Dorgu
    Mount Garnacho

I’m not expecting Shaw or Mount to start but if we lose here then we have nothing to play for in the rest of the season. If we get through they surely have to get match fit for the semi finals.

    We're a better team
Fairly even I think, especially with our goalkeeper and striker being so incredibly bad. We need some big performances from our big players (Bruno, Casemiro, Garnacho).

I would defo still be starting Bayindir over Onana.

 The amount of people still willing to pick Onana despite his constant errors & gifting Lyon 2 goals in the first leg is laughable, I'd rather have Heaton in goal over Onana.

At least Onana adds something to the build up play. But both goalies are poor.

Lyon away in Europe this season three wins and two draws.

    1-4 v Rangers
    2-2 v TSG Hoffenheim
    1-4 v Qarabag fk
    0-0 v Fenerbahçe
    1-3 v Steaua Bucharest

In the French league they have lost 5 away games this season.

    4-2 v Stasbourg on 28th of March
    3-2 v Marseille on 2nd Feb
    2-1 v Brest in Jan
    3-1 v PSG in Decemeber
    3-0 v Rennes in August

    Making some assumptions about injuries:

    ...............Bruno.............Eriksen.....................

    Dorgu....................................................Dalot
    ..................Casemiro.....Ugarte.....................

    ..........Shaw.......Maguire........Yoro...............

Same, I don't think his mistake was quite as bad as Onana's have been.

Plus its an easy one to fix, just tell him not to try any remotely difficult pass. Where as you can't fix Onana's shit keeping as it's built-in by this point.

These players better be up for it. The season practically ends if we lose. Would be nice to still have a few games to look forward to.
