“He said it himself. It won’t be too long until he’s out of his cast. He’ll work hard during the international break and hopefully he’ll be back.

“Nothing to report, hopefully after the international group we can get a few more back.”

On failing to win at Bournemouth and the remainder of United's Europa League group campaign
We were on half a run but it won’t happen in one instancen that we tuirn everything around. It was a quick turnaround, we didn’t get the goal we deserved early on. Started well, mentality was great. We’re disappointed but we go again.

If we qualify now we can try out a few things in the last two group games.

    Young on Pogba
“We’ve got great competition for places throughout the squad. It’s down to the manager to pick the team. It’s not a difficult job for us we’ve got to go ouyt there and perform. Obviously when you’ve got a player like Paul, it’s disappointing. But the boys that have played in his position have done fantastically well. It’ll be great when he’s back but it’s good competition for places.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I know what I see every day, day in day out. The boys are out there working as hard as possible to try and get results. We’re not going to let the loss to Bournemouth dampen our spirits. We’ve got games coming up that we believe now are winnable games. We need to try to keep putting points on the board.

    Solskjaer on United's transition
There’s never a shortcut in football. It’s hard work, stick together, team spirit. The work everyone does every day is pleasing for me as a manager. They want to do well, and for one reason or another, sometimes we haven’t got the results. We feel we deserve a few more results than we have got but we’re working and we’re on the right track. Of course Saturday was disappointing but we’ve got two games that we can win before the break.

It’s one route. It’s one of two. It’s November, you’re not going to talk about the league table in November. I don’t think anybody can predict that.

Solskjaer on plus points from Europa League campaign
We’ve seen some young players getting a chance and doing well. Mason’s given us a winner, Brandon was fantastic in Belgrade, Jimmy came through that game really well. We have given other players a chance to play which is important in the long run.

For me it’s been good to give young kids a chance. Good to see young players play games and we’ve kept three clean sheets and that’s impressive.

Last time we were in it, we won it. Any trophies you can get your hands on, you can take. We’ve started really well and we want to get all the way to Gdansk.

On how United can turn Old Trafford into a fortress
We have to start tomorrow. Hope Partizan don’t remember this with joy. I’ve played in quite a few games at home where if you get a start you can fill your boots. Play front-foot football. We’ve been in so many games where we’ve been one goal up and taken a step back.

    Young on United's difficult start
It’s been tough. It’s been fine margins in some games where we’re winning 1-0, coming in after the game, drawing the game and it feels like a defeat. Things are improving and I think we’ve shown that in the last couple of weeks. We look like a much better team when we’re on the front foot.

    On United's fans
The crowd’s massive. It’s down to us as players to put on a performance for them to enjoy. Playing on the front foot, scoring goals, that’s what the fans want to see and hopefully that will be the case tomorrow.

    Solskjaer on January transfers
The priority now is to get the players fit and get to the next round. We always look at the long term with transfers, it might be none, might be one, might be two in January. It’s always the summer... you can’t really do too many big deals in January.

On the state of the squad
I think this team is improving and the longer time we get together, the more we will improve. It’s not just about this competition. We’ve come through this period since the last break with some good performances and more belief. I can see the improvement in these kids more and more. We need the experienced lads. Paul, we’ve got Anthony back and hopefully we’ll have Luke back soon, Eric will be back soon.

On the effect Pogba's return will have on McTominay
Let’s see when he gets back. Scott has been one of our most important players, he’s taken strides, it’s his first season that he’s been playing regularly.

    Young on United's young players
You see the likes of Mason, Jimmy, Chong, Angel, Brandon. They’ve done well when they’ve come in. When you see youngsters that are doing we’ll, they’ve just got to work when they get in, keep listening and keep learning.

Solskjaer on Martial and Rashford's connection
“Anthony is a vital player for us. He’s got different attributes to Marcus, Dan and Jesse. He can hold the ball up for us, you’ve got players making runs in behind. Anthony’s been missed in training as well. When he’s in a good mood, it affects other people.

“He’s been in a good mood when he’s been with us. He was working too hard early on, which made him re-hurt [sic] his injury...

“Marcus, I think he’s developed. He’s 22 but he’s experienced in his career. I made my debut for Molde then and you think ‘wow, he can reach the top.’

“Anthony’s playing as a No.9 and Marcus has been playing wide. It was a decision that we made when Anthony was away that Marcus would play through the middle.”

I knew that would cause a problem when I posted it. He is probably just hedging his bets, but that last line is bound to upset some.
Ye ye I appreciate you posting the commentary. I'm not mocking you. It's just a copy paste every week right.

Lads are working hard/spirits are high. I see progress. I believe in these kids. Results are good. Might not bring anyone in during Jan

I could probably save most of those copy and pastes and post them every week. People really wouldn't be any the wiser.

How many teams in the last 10 years have pulled in more than two big signings in January? Yeah, he's hedging his bets, but if we made two big signings in January, that would be huge. But only if those two were a forward and a midfielder.

Ole has to learn how to phrase things better. He could of said United as a big team are always looking to improve and if anyone fits that mould in January we will try our hardest to sign them.

I certainly hope we don't play with a back 5 vs Partizan at home. We need to score more goals, not concede less with a defensive line up...

I'm hoping for a 433 for the same reason, just not full if faith in Oles team selections at the minute. European game after a loss? Can see him going for not losing rather than the win.

Seriously, I don't McT, Rashford, James, AWB, or Maguire anywhere closer to the pitch than when they come out of the tunnel.

Glad to see that Oles tactics seem to stem on making sure Martial is in a good mood. Who says Ole is not an innovated manager? Bet none of the other top managers have tried that. I'm changing my vote to keep.

Yet a win would make the rest of the Europa group games that bit easier.

I'd be surprised if we stuck with the same formation as the away game, seeing as it didn't go so well over there (1 shot on target... a penalty)

    Romero
Wan Bissaka - Jones - Rojo - Young
    Garner - Fred
    James - Lingard - Rashford
    Martial

Ideally, we'd be 2-0 up on 60 mins and able to get Rashford, James and AWB off ready for Brighton.

But we all know it won't be that easy.

Not sure that is how it was meant, but it does read like he is telling everyone Martial is a right moody so-and-so and can't be arsed sometimes.
