Can someone else not start these threads? @Niall 's record has been pretty shit. I know he owns the place, but maybe for jinx's sake, let someone else try?

Only terms and medical left for Blind to join us. Is it too early to have him in the list?

I truly want us to go for this next game.

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Blind
    Di Maria Mata Januzaj
    van Persie

Didn't include Rooney because I'm just fed up of his donkey touch in the last 3 games.

if we can't beat these convincingly then there's no hope left at all

We might aswell accept as a club we are done.

Am i the only person on here who would support UTD if we were in League Two?

Think Mata might be out but I agree with this lineup (Rooney in for Mata). Huge potential for that side, though it would be debuts for Rojo, Shaw, Blind and just the second game for Herrera and Di Maria. Completely different to the side we've been seeing so far this season though, hopefully nobody else picks up an injury.

    -------------De Gea--------------
    Rafael - Jones - Blackett - Shaw
    --------------Blind--------------------
    ------Herrera-----Di Maria-------------
    -------------Januzaj----------------------
    ----Welbeck--------Rooney-------------

Or if 3-5-2, Get Rojo and Evans in Januzaj and Blackett out.
Why would you have Blackett in the team over Rojo in a back four but not a back five?

Would like to see this but I doubt it will happen.

That's almost perfect. I'd swap Januzaj and Di maria though, as I think Adnan looks way more threatening when he can cut back onto his left.

I have this idea that Jones and Rojo together would be too much fighting and not concentration. In a back 5 however i think Rojo is faster than Blackett and a better one on one player because he is a bit more aggressive, don't know for sure though :)

Even if we win this, which, as embarrassing as it sounds, we may not, it means absolutely nothing. We'd have 5 points after 4 matches, when there'd be teams with 12. Teams we can't hope to actually beat, either.

3 matches in and I'm already dreading this season. Let's hope for a top 10 finish, we'll sort it out next season.

Yeah good point. It's definitely not an ideal situation, but it's hard to judge until I've seen him play. Jones just needs to calm down, he thinks he's Vidic but hasn't got the strength or timing to be like that (yet).

Well the whole relegation fodder experience was nice but it's really is time we get back to winning.2-0 United.

With most of our injuries coming back i see us going back to a back 4 and most likely using the 4231 formation.

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Blind
    Januzaj/Mata Rooney Di Maria
    van Persie
If Mata doesn't start he will come on in the second half to replace one of Januzaj, RVP or Rooney.

Hopefully with all our players back we can really see what the new United is capable of.

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind Herrera
    Di Maria Rooney Januzaj

hopefully a more assured defense and confident mid to carry the ball forward. No more lumping the ball out wide to wing-backs from CBs as well. I'd take any result as long as performance improves and confidence returns (which'd be unlikely unless a miracle happens).

I'd go for this too, I doubt it'll happen but only one of Rooney/RVP needs to play and I'd really like to see our number 7 and 11 playing together again.

The abomination which is the midfield of the team is mainly responsible for the defensive and offensive failings of the team.

Against Burnley, they did not track back enough to help out the center backs. Understandable, since Fletcher was the only true CM.
Offensively, Di Maria was way up the pitch but again that is expected. Fletcher had a bad game and did not take control. As a result, Evans and Jones passed it sideways to Blackett, who just hoofed it up.

Blind, Herrera etc. cannot walk into the 1st XI sooner.

Think i'd prefer Rooney up top and Mata where you had Rooney, or RVP up top if he's more fit by then. Welbeck isn't better than RVP or Rooney and will never be

We should probably wait an hour after the games before opening the next GDT so people could cool their heads down before submitting their predictions...
We won't lose 0-5 to QPR in a league game at home for the next 50 years. Beside that, it's not even as funny as those posters may think.

True but he's in better form than both easily. Deserves the start.

I think LVG will go with this line up providing all players involved are fit and available, I have a feeling that Mata will be the one to suffer when everyone is fit if we are to continue with this 3-5-2. I can't see him dropping his captain nor can I see him dropping our best striker and his golden boy RVP.

Happy with the international brake as it will help get all the injured players back.

Hopefully for this game we can field our strong 11. I will like to see something like this.

    DDG
    Rafael___Jones___Rojo___Shaw

    Blind

    Herrera____________Di Maria

    Mata
    RVP*
    __________Rooney*

    * You can change RVP or Rooney for Januzaj and move Di Maria to the wing for a 4231 setup if RVP or Rooney can't play well together.

That is what I would like to see but I fear we will see 352 again. I think with that 11 we can beat any top 10 team except City and Chelsea. The only doubt I have on that 11 is Rojo as I have never seen him play CB so not sure how good he can be, but it can't be worse than what we have seen from Evans lately.

I don't see an end to the 3 at the back until LVG tries it with the players he has bought.

So until Rojo & Shaw (plus Blind protecting them) have been tried and tested the formation is not going to change.

But this match is sooooo far away, the wait is going to be painful!

Valencia - Herrera - Di Maria - Shaw
    Welbeck - Rooney

Assuming RVP is going to have a knee operation, I'd put Welbeck next to Rooney. If Welbeck's not here by then, I'd put in Januzaj.

I still think we're gonna win this. Not much reason to think so, but by now the law of odds say something is gonna fall our way, surely.
Also, who - out of our large unavailable collection - will be back for this? Rojo, Shaw, Herrera, Fellaini...?
