I stand by the analysis. But it would be foolish to deny we're improving hugely. Whether it translates into the PL and sticks for a season is the actual question and that jury is still out.
What analysis? We rotated & we have used 3 different formations in short period of time.

Because of the squad depth right?
Well not exactly. Previously bad players are playing well. Fred and McT now look decent for example. But what we are seeing are two separate teams that aren't exactly overlapping that much tactically or with the players either - especially the midfield where the problem was. So it's not a problem solved - especially on the PL side.

But of course things are getting better. But we've been on hot runs before. Consistency is the issue.

To quote JM Keynes, the great Notts County manager (I think) "When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir? "

Has the signing improve our squad depth? Yes.

    Did we rotate today? Yes.

Are we over-playing Bruno? No, he’s rested today. By who? Donny.

Did our quality dropped when we made subs today. No and one of the sub was Cavani.

Did we switched 3 different formations in short period of time? Yes.

I think it’s clear as day, you were wrong about the squad depth and the manager’s tactic from our conversation last time.

But all those things referred to what went on at the end of last season and our weak start to this one. This was literally VDB's first start and Cavani's second appearance. It's not intelligent to crow in a a nonsensical way just because we are winning games in Europe. We are still 15th in the league FFS.

But I agree that things are moving in a pleasing direction for now. Seen it happen before though.

I have mentioned Fred, James & Scott in our conversation before. The three of them played part in our winning against City, Chelsea, Spurs and drew to Liverpool. It shows you that last season Ole wasn‘t tactical limited and still willing to play those different type of players and could get results. You ignored that valid point I made last week.

Now we signed Donny, Bruno can have his rest and we did it in cup games and today‘s game this season. Donny pretty much offers this squad depth as Ole didn’t trust on Lingard/Pereira which is why we keep playing Bruno even in 120 minutes against Norwich last season.

Ole now has more faith to bring a striker on before 80th minute Cavani for example, something he reluctant with Ighalo last season especially against Sevilla. Ole played Telles last week, would have play today if it wasn’t because Covid.

Not sure why being 15th in 5 league games (which others had played 6) is relevant. We were 15th in 08/09 in our first 4 league games. The match fitness issue at the beginning isn‘t a joke.

Hence my point about consistency. It's never been about good versus awful. It's about winners versus also rans.

You can’t expect consistency when there are lot of injuries pre-lockdown and 4 months pandemic break which cause a lack of match fitness to players who didn’t play few games during re-start.

    Marcus, take a bow lad.

Harder teams to follow, but what's not to like in the lads winning tonight?

Well we're wading back into the swamp of opinions now. Let's not. It's a night to be happy

We had lot of injuries and 4 months break. That’s fact, I’m not making it up. Not sure how you can’t see the logic when it’s valid reasons which counter your opinion.

I will give credit when credit is due to the manager.
5-0 win against the German league leaders and champions league semi finalists of last season. Not giving Ole the credit he's due tonight just proves how much of a poor wum and Poch fan boy that you are.

Must have watched a different game. Most of Our goals came in result of a counter, mistake and var. Rb was superior until they collapsed after the second goal.

when majority of cafe taught the first goal was offside, and then the second had var intervention with a surprised looked by ole, that is the textbook definition of sketchy. I will give credit when credit is due to the manager.
    Enjoy the win.

Are you seriously picking holes in this performance?

You must be utterly horrendous to be around.

are you sat at home, thinking of ways to diss the team and manager after this performance? I think you are beyond help.

I suppose you have applied? To sit in the jury I mean. No, your right it's about consistency but we're not going to win every game 5-0. Especially not in the PL. It's different time though than with Mourinho and LVG. Ole is doing something different, and it doesn't seem fragile. We have seen patches before yes, but since the arrival of Bruno we've been the second best team in the PL, or close to it. It's a bit more than a patch at this point, and we should keep that in mind when sitting in the jury.

    Just got to watch it.
That was one of the easiest CL matches I've seen for a long time.

Leipzig's only tactics , fall over clutching your face as much as possible. Their defence looks hopeless and DDG had hardly anything to do.

Totally outclassed them and out-tacticked them.
United continue to improve and looking better now we've recovered from our disjointed summer break where we lost advantage over other teams.

Still not going back to the 'United" forum because no doubt many are still fawning over a certain Argentinian manager who has never won anything and a certain German manager who has never won anything.

    Really happy with that performance

Oh deff want my seat. I've been an Ole outter up till now mostly because the high press seems to be the only way to win anything and it's beyond his coaching skills. But I feel that high press is beginning to look like yesterday's news now, so bringing in Poch is looking increasingly dumb.

Controlled, patient and a fantastic work/team ethic again. When they are playing for each other instead of themselves, they look capable of beating almost anyone. That game was worth watching the following 2 more times. I usually cannot stand Fred and never want to see his name on the sheet but it was his tenacity that got us started and kept us pushing. He dtill desperately needs to do better with his shocking passing but I actually gave him my m-o-m vite.
