Couldn't really give a shit about this one if I'm honest. I hope I'm surprised by an energetic, dynamic performance where the players show real desire to make up for the weekend and show the fans they're up for the huge task of righting a few wrongs this season. I won't be betting on it though.

Close to mine. Except my back line is Dalot - Tuanzebe - Jones - Rojo, in a concession to play experience over youth. I'd still be happy with your selection. Because picking experienced players doesn't work when they can't be arsed. If any of Pogba, Martial, or Shaw are fit, they play (at least 45 minutes) instead of Garner, Lingard, Rojo. The team basically picks itself - it's whomever didn't play 90 minutes yesterday.

U-23s beat Rotherham away 0-2. In League 1, Rotherham are 2 points above Rochdale with a game in hand. Surely a team of pros plus U-23s should be able to beat Rochdale at home? I expect us to win this one if we play to win.

08/01/19 Rochdale 2 - 4 Manchester City Under 21s
11/09/19 Rochdale 0 - 2 Manchester City Under 21s

So City's U21s have beaten Rochdale away twice this year in competitive football. If our senior team were to lose this, or even draw for pens, it would be beyond embarrassing.

At this point, you pack James in bubble wrap and store him in the equipment closet until next league match.

Unfortunately, this team picks itself... from the healthy. Anyone hoping to "see the kids" - we have to rely on them. I'll go so far as to say Williams even gets a runout as a sub.

Ole has to go balls to the wall. Parking the bus does not work. Pull a high line with the defense and pound the ball at the goal every chance you get. Screw the counter attack, you get the ball and go.

Saw those results the other day and it highlights how poor Rochdale are however they will likely treat this match v United as their cup final. They did likewise last February in the Fa Cup v Spurs when they drew 2-2.
