A game everyone thought would be a great chance of a win, suddenly has us in rancid form and them in 3rd.
    Can't make it up.

Its must win and has been since Arsenal, basically. We can't end the season with nothing to play for (bar an FA cup miracle) by October 4. And that's where we will be if we lose, under serious relegation threat again.

Yeah if we lose this one we are prob more likely then not gonna be in relegation zone after the Liverpool loss

Well, that's something to play for!

But more seriously, everyone knows he's gone. It's just a case of when.

The club have probably themselves been leaking these stories about November 1st and bandying managers names about.

Amorim has to switch keeper now. Why did he buy Lammens, if Amorim thinks he is even worse than Bayindir?
I think it ends 2-1. I can not see, when we are ever going to have a clean sheet again.

I fecking hate this lineup but it's exactly what we are gonna see (with the exception of Amad for Dalot I guess)

    Same, it's crap.

If he insists on dying on this hill remove Shaw altogether, he's no use to anybody anymore. Drop Bruno and play the closest thing to functioning midfielders we have in there. Id go Mainoo - Cas, but Ugarte in Cas' place isn't a disaster.

Its still shite, but hey ho.

You realise he's sabotaging on purpose for the big payout? He's basically goading INEOS to sack him early.

I don't buy this - surely the players wouldn't allow that to happen?

Surely the players also have to start taking responsibility.

Time for a shake up, out with all the old underachievers that have been here for years and keeps on letting the team down year after year.

Except for Dorgu I don’t mind the look of this team at all.

    Maguire De Ligt Shaw

    Maz Casemiro Bruno Dorgu

It's possible, only he really knows. Whatever the reasons this madness has to be put to a stop immediately.

I forgot this was at home, so I think we’ll nab a win. Had it been away then I’d fancy a draw at best.

Players need to pretend that the manager has been sacked and just do their own thing in this game for the sanity of the fans. Cause whatever he's telling them over a week of preparation isn't going to do them any good.

Imagine if the players would set up in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 in the game, would love to see the manager's face.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect us to fall off a cliff so dramatically that a win at home vs Sunderland feels tricky.

Not sure it's a sudden fall, more a 12 year tumble hitting a lot of nasty branches on the way down the ravine...

Hopefully a win. Been a handful of painful watches already this season so I really hope they pull it out of the bag as the fixtures aren't going to get kinder than a game against a freshly promoted team at home, as well as Sunderland have started.

Sign me up. I am up for this. Maybe swap Casemiro in for Mount to have somewhat of a senior player but I would not mind it if this would be it.

We needed a good performance and result against Brentford, because let's be honest, weren't good vs Chelsea, but we still won, so the Brentford game was a must win to gather steam, and not only we lost, the performance was gash, and after all that, I genuinely don't see us winning, not even by luck which seems we ran out of (we get pen vs Fulham to make it 2-0 and Bruno misses it, we get pen vs Brentford to draw 2-2 and Bruno misses it and the ref doesn't even send the defender off).

Tldr, we ain't winning this, no chance so it seems he'll be fired by then as his position will be untenable by then.

As bad as Amorim is, wouldn't say there's no chance of winning. He's narrowly gotten by these kind of games at Old Trafford during his tenure.

Well probably win, but the performance will be bad so it won’t even feel good.

I know, mostly by luck too, needed a pen to win against Burnley, an early red card to and bizarre subs to win the first half against Chelsea, as of now luck is running out too so, unless he tries something new, he ain't winning against Sunderland, no chance

We’ll win this one (which would make me very happy), and give Amorim another lifeline, just for us to revert back to losing the next few games then win again and another lifeline, until the season is not salvageable then eventually he gets sacked.. We’ve seen this pattern for years since SAF left.. We have no ambitions.. Amorim should be sacked regardless, the break is a good opportunity for that! Even if we played Liverpool and won, he should still get sacked, when are we going to be proactive (it’s reactive anyways at this point).

The team I want to see

    ------------------------------------------------------Lammens--------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------Yoro-----------------De Ligt------------------Shaw--------------------------------
    Amad----------------------------------Mainoo--------------Ugarte-------------------------------------Dorgu
    -------------------------------------------Mbeumo------------Cunha-----------------------------------------------

    The team we will see

    --------------------------------------------------------Bayindir--------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------De Ligt--------------Maguire------------------Shaw-----------------------------
    Dalot----------------------------------Bruno--------------Casemiro------------------------------------Dorgu
    -------------------------------------------Mbeumo------------Mount-----------------------------------------------

We'll win as we're home against a shit team. Then we'll get battered to Liverpool, and from there I think we spiral. We aren't in spiral territory yet
Considering we were 4th in the Championship and a fiull 20 odd points behind automatic promotion last season ( and having spent 4 seasons in league 1 recently ) we are genuinely gobsmacked how well we are doing -I would snap your hand off for 17th -“ shit team “ ..possibly this has been the thought process of some who have played us so far …don’t expect this to continue and would love a point v Man utd
My big worry is that -it’s Man United !-at old tradford -at some point you have to come good -just delighted to be playing the likes of yourselves to be honest

The only narrative that makes sense is that we win this one with some kind of goal that bounces off the back of Harry’s head. Enter the break with management having an excuse to keep on keeping on.

    What I'd play:

    ..........................Sesko............................
    .................................................................
    Cunha...............Bruno..............Mbeumo
    .................................................................
    .............Casemiro.....Mainoo..................
    .................................................................
    Shaw................................................Dalot
    ...................de Ligt.....Yoro.......................
    ..................................................................
    .......................Lammens..........................

What I think he'll play, in what will hopefully be his swan song:

    ..........................Sesko............................
    .................................................................
    ..........Cunha..................Mbeumo...........
    .................................................................
    Dorgu.............................................Amad
    ..............Casemiro......Bruno...................
    ..................................................................
    ...........Shaw.......de Ligt.....Yoro...............
    ..................................................................
    ...........................Altay...............................

Sunderland are playing above their level so far, but I wouldn't bet on us to beat a Championship side right now.

My only hope is that if we fail to win, the board will recognize that the one and only chance to salvage the season will be to send Amorim packing.

Well, we couldn't be a League 2 side, so I'd agree with you there.

Win or draw and Amorim gets at least until the Nov. int'l break. Lose this...to Sunderland...at home...and they have very little choice. It has to be done.

Tbf when I say shit team I don't mean it disrespectfully, more like a newly promoted team who is fighting for survival and not an established prem team. United even the past year or 2 has still been consistent with those. Sunderland is my vote to stay up for sure and you guys have been great, but also after a run of good form, away to a "traditionally big club" tends to be a free hit without killing momentum. If United were away to Sunderland, entirely different story.

You want to sack him even if we beat both Sunderland and Liverpool? So that would 3 wins and 1 loss in the last 4 games, and certainly in the top 4 yet you think they should sack him? You think perhaps you might be a tad over emotional?

No chance we'll get 6pts or even 4 anyway. We'll probably get 6 or 7 from our next 4 at best, which would be alright in the grand scheme of things.
