I thought the ref hadn’t given a pen.I have a theory that at this point VAR is just being used to increase controversy and create talking points.

Good to see Lammens having a relatively quiet game thus far. He has done what he needs to during the few times he needed to.Decent first half, needs to be saidbeing generous, the sunderland player was flinching when seskos leg came up before the ball hit, so it may just have hurt hitting his face and he didnt know it wasnt seskos contact.
Would the lino give that at Anfield? Would he feckPlayers have gone into passive mode once again. If they don't wake up this will get uggly in the second half, we have all seen it countless times before.

Correct decision. I can understand why the linesman might have thought it was a foul on initial viewing. VAR gets things right this time.
