I think if you’ve watched all those games, you are well aware of how bad a position we are in. Our points have been very fortunate.Can confirm the sun is currently out! It’s actually quite pleasant.
If we look only at the results and take nothing else into account, it might be tolerable. That would be a silly thing to do, though. The two wins we have now came from a questionable injury-time penalty to scrape a one-goal win at home from the mighty Burnley, and the win against Chelsea was clearly a product of them going a man down after five minutes.
If we had been playing well but had the misfortune to lose two games in five, it would be a different matter. The fact is that we've been absolutely terrible and very lucky to have won any games at all. A win today doesn't change that, even though INEOS and Ratcliffe probably will see it as justification for giving Amorim more time.
And that's if we win today. Sunderland are eight places above us in the league and have only lost once so far, conceding just four goals in six games. As things stand, we're not favored at all and it would be a legitimate surprise if we win.Last edited:
