Thanks. Bad news as he is extremely important with his speed. Nevertheless we will have enough for them i think

I can‘t see Mbeumo being benched. I bet it will be Šeško off the bench again.
We need more than just counter punch football. We should be able to control some matches surely. Pep isn't the only manager to coach his teams to play controlling football. Theres nothing wrong with the way we played v city, we need more versatility however..Agree. We dominated City. Yet had less possession.
We aren’t a team that can suffocate the opposition with possession, and frankly what a boring style of football that is. What we can do is be very effective with the ball.
Controlling != possessionWe need more than just counter punch football. We should be able to control some matches surely. Pep isn't the only manager to coach his teams to play controlling football. Theres nothing wrong with the way we played v city, we need more versatility however..
It wasn't black & white for the Fulham game either, they're not a team that sit in a low block and hope for a counter.Yeah, the case for starting Sesko isn't as black and white as it was for the Fulham game.
I can see the logic behind starting Mbeumo.
I’d bench Amad though and move Mbeumo to the right. Players all need to fight for their places and Mbeumo is a lot more clinical than Amad and Sesko could have scored another goal after coming on against Fulham.I can‘t see Mbeumo being benched. I bet it will be Šeško off the bench again.
Why is it a case of Sesko or Mbeumo though? Sesko upfront and Mbeumo on the right. Let Amad come off the bench.Yeah, the case for starting Sesko isn't as black and white as it was for the Fulham game.

It’s a nice problem. Amad was great against Fulham forward and backwards. He’s great at carrying the ball and looking after it. I think we’re a worse side without Amad.I’d bench Amad though and move Mbeumo to the right. True. But then will it be smart going for Mbeumo up top against there rapid CB? He’ll love racing duels against Mbeumo… Sesko gives a different dimension and can flick it on in the air. Amads a quality player but I feel he needs to start racking up numbers to become an elite RW.It’s a nice problem. Amad was great against Fulham forward and backwards. But then who do you drop?
I think I’d keep it the same for now you know as I think today is a game to hit them on the break and let them have the ball as they’re not threatening with lots of possession, and they won’t expect it.
Instead of who? Mbeumo and Cunha are scoring goals as well, and Diallo is one of few United players, who can dribble past a defender on his own and thereby create chances. It is a positive problem right now, but I would not change a team that has won 3 games in a row against 3 very good teams.Start Sesko
That’s true, but I also like bringing Sesko on later on to change the dynamic and give the defender a different problem when they’re tired.True. City wasn’t “counter punch” football. That has been how we have won those types of games previously, but not the game. City created nothing. We need more than just counter punch football. Same thing, it's just frowned upon by this fan base its like a dirty word. Transition = counter attack.Controlling != possession
And that was the crux of my point. We should be able to see more of the ball than some of our opponents. When talking about the subject people keep going to the extreme of possession for possession sake or peak pep ball, boring! When the crux is we need more than one way to play. And long term id like Carrick to work outCity wasn’t “counter punch” football. That has been how we have won those tropes of games previously, but not the game. City created nothing.
The crux is, possession for possessions sake is pointless. Look at how we were playing, passing the ball from left to right and back again between 3 centre backs. Obviously if we only have 20% of the ball then there is a serious issue.
I agree we need to be more adaptable. And blimey haven’t we learnt that over the past 15 months.
Absolutely. Which is what we did against city. We dominated them and had less of the ball. Their style of play is actually quite boring, same with Arsenal. I much prefer our way of playing which is trying to be direct and attack as quickly as possibleI don’t like that people refer to control in football as a synonym for lots of the ball. I don’t think that’s true, while that is one method of controlling a game you can control a game of football without the ball.
Wrong thread. Was about the first half against city. That seems to be random post with no context.
Could you elaborate?
Just want to say I am excited to watch football matches again. Feels nostalgic.

The rot has been fixed! No lineup leaks yet?
Yeah a proper 20 nil victory would be proper. That's a goal every 4.5 minutes. These feckers have turned up and been smug cnuts in recent years, need to feck them off back down the M6.
We probably all feel your pain, mate. Hard not to get excited about the recent turnaround but the memory of Everton, Burnley, WHU, Wolves etc lingers. Hope the players’ have got over it better than we have. We’d be neck and neck with the title contenders if even half of that period had resulted in expectations. If the crowd and the team can overcome that cnut of a ref and what is a bit of a banana skin opponent … ?Maybe im the only one, I dont trust these players. 9 from 9 was more than I could have guessed, 4 wins in a row does seem daunting, not been done by us for a few years. Im gpimg for a draw, maybe a loss, happy to be corrected. My mind is just burnt by this team, the inconsistency drives me nuts.
We’ll defo need the squad depth next season if we’re competing in Europe too.I think we have to think about Tuesday's game when picking today's team. Hopefully that's a problem we'll have again next year.
Cunha is on fire at the moment though and could be crucial in unlocking this spurs team with his directness and long range shooting.I'd bench Cunha if sesko is to start. I'd rather have amad and mbeumo on the pitch I feel.
Amorim fixed this though didn’t he? We all know it was garnacho and his brother. No lineup leaks yet?

Amad was our best player in the first half in our last game.I’d bench Amad though and move Mbeumo to the right. Players all need to fight for their places and Mbeumo is a lot more clinical than Amad and Sesko could have scored another goal after coming on against Fulham.
