Hmmm I think Mbeumo upfront will struggle against VDV and Romero

I could see that, but I feel like he'll give VDV a tough game and he has a mistake in him and Mbeumo can be quite good at pouncing on them. So hopefully it works out. But I do think if Sesko comes on he'll probably be better at getting on the end of balls into the box

Mbuemo is our top scorer. Makes sense to start him today and start Sesko midweek against West Ham who'll sit deep.

Stronger looking Spurs side than their recent games. We'll need to be better than last week to win this.

Definitely. Not going to be easy regardless of where they are on the table. Of course, hoping we smash the cnuts

Kinda nervous about this one. I have this superstition about us and early kick-offs, plus Spurs have been in rotten form in the league for a while - they’re going to fluke a win somewhere any day now

Also, we haven’t had a settled team all season so now we have almost everyone available it makes sense to let the same team get a run of it and build some chemistry. With mostly only one game a week and options on the bench it’s a sensible approach as we push for a CL spot.

My other random anxiety is thinking we always play bad on the Munich Memorial game - even if the only one I actually remember for sure being the home loss vs city in 2008 with the retro kit

Not sure if Carrick really rates Sesko?

He will start the next game.

It will be the first time we will have had another game after only a few days rest under his tenure and West Ham concede an awful lot from corners/crosses (think they're the worst in the league?) so it makes sense to keep the winning team and then put him in for that one.

Depends whether the Spurs who played 1st half Vs City or 2nd half Vs City turn up

Didn’t realise how deep Spurs squad is. They’re missing 10 first-team players today, yet their starting XI is still quite strong. And they still have Bissouma, Tel, and Muani on the bench.

There's certainly both pace and skill in that Spurs side that can do some damage, regardless of how their manager organizes them. We might be looking at an uncomfortable afternoon here.

They have a really good away record this season, it’s going to be a very difficult game and there won’t be much in it either way I’d expect. Will need an improved performance from the game against Fulham if we are going to win this.

So much for Solanke and Romero missing. Spurs are no mugs contrary to what this thread seems to believe. This could turn out to be very difficult.

I agree. I said before we need to bee sble to control the game but some overconfident fans thought that is not needed against Spurs

    Yes me too.
3 wins out of 3 builds the pressure of expectation. Obviously we are going to lose at some point. Just hope it isn't today.

I think we will have to start quickly and hopefully get an early goal which will settle both team and crowd.
Tottenham break really quickly and we absolutely need to ensure they don't get an early goal.
But I would be a lot more nervous if Onana was in goal that is for sure.

This game is very different purely from the expectation and pressure all being on us. They aren't in good form, we are, we're at home, everyone expects us to win. The players have to back it up with the right energy. If they do, we'll win

Fulham are miles better than Tottenham. I don’t know why people are acting like Spurs are flying, they’re 14th for a reason.

they're game raising cnuts. on paper, going from the last few years, it's a slippy fixture. get this one done convincingly, and i think we keep winning for a while.

Makes sense to go with this team today as its more likely to be a game that we can stretch compared to the last game. But we've won 3 in a row so you don't want to make too many unnecessary changes. I do want to see Sesko get a start soon but his time will come.

If Spurs come at us we've got a great chance, if we can sit in our block and hit them on the counter that's our bread and butter, VDV's pace will protect them somewhat but even he can't be everywhere.

If Spurs sit back and we have to push forward though there's a worry, Spurs have a very athletic side and will cut through the big gaps we aren't able to cover, then it'll come down to who is most clinical.

It's a ridiculous thing to say, but given their ridiculous injury crisis I actually find it a bit rude that Van de Ven and Romero are both available.

That feels unfair. They're supposed to have next to no senior players.
