Thats a really tough watch. We should have let him go this summer. No excuse for promising he will play his part and not following through on that. He’s in the prime of his career.
It´s September. The seasons lasts until May.

Sad to see the top reds and staunch Ole supporters being hostile towards the members of our fanbase who want to see a change of manager but still keep on winning games

Sad to see the top reds and staunch Ole supporters being hostile towards the members of our fanbase who want to see us still win games, however look like they are properly coached in doing that.
Yep, it’s the Ole ins that’s being unreasonable.
Just enjoy the win. There’s plenty of time for crying when we don’t win an important CL fixture without 3 of our back 4.
This is what top 4 is about

I'll keep banging on about it. United has to play 4-4-2. If they play three in midfield with Bruno in their and giving him the freedom he needs to create, the midfield will look like a Spurs midfield. Enough of relying two guys to working in the engine room and getting overwhelmed.

Injuries are part of football. This is Villareal we are talking about not Bayern Munich. We have the squad to cruise past a team like that especially at home. We should not be relying on luck to beat them

    You would would ya?
Another clever hindsight comment… he disnt have a good game at all, first touch was poor and looked tired. It was very likely that we would have done better in the last 20 minutes with fresh legs and a more balanced team

Just take the L. You bitched about Fred coming on instead of VDB, despite Fred coming on at fullback because of Telles picking up a knock. Fred puts in a great cross for the goal and you try desperately to downplay his part, and now you're trying to shift conversation away from what you ACTUALLY said. It's pathetic. Accepted you've made a tit of yourself and move on lad.
My post stated that Donny was upset about not coming on over Fred, who is an inferior footballer, and that other players had to calm him down/console him; that’s what I said. You then started chiming in about how I was a looking like a CNUT and Ole’s subs “yet again” save the day and we went from there. That’s not shifting away from a subject, that’s called a conversation.
If you’re happy with a manager that has to (apparently) constantly save a match with subs because he can’t control a game even with a myriad of top quality players from the start, then great well done you.

All that has absolutely feck all to do with what you said, and what I replied with. Classic strawman. Admit you were wrong, enjoy the win, and see if you can't regain a little self respect, hey?

    Your original post:

Ole is losing the dressing room. See how the other players console Donny because they know he’s better than the player (Fred) being subbed on
Fred then crosses for the goal. You mak a weak ass attempt to downplay Fred's input to try and save face, and now you're rabbiting on about being happy with the performance, controlling the match and Ole having to save matches. Again, all of it has feck all to do with what you originally said.

Our good squad beat them, not luck.
Luck played a huge role in this. Villareal could have easily scored 3 goals in the first half. Sure we've got a great squad. Unfortunately Ole seems not being able to utilize it

Why is it that when a good keeper does a good job its luck but not when a good striker scores a good goal. DDG is part of that great squad. If they would have easily scored those 3 attempts in that first half then a goalkeeper upgrade would be a more pressing need than a midfielder.

Loved the last minute winner but can't say I am not concerned. The first half was total chaos, tactics resembling a Sunday League team at times. I have no idea what the formation was supposed to be but it looked like a 4-1-5 at times. Just like the Wolves game, every single time we lost the ball we got countered. Again, we nearly conceded a comincal goal from our own corner and were let-off by a poor pass.

We were much better second half, despite conceding the goal. Hopefully whatever we tried first half is consigned to the bin, but it's a concern we ever thought it would be a good idea and/or that we implemented it so poorly.

If we play like we did in the first half against Everton, we will get beat. Benitez will be licking his lips at the prospect of sitting back and counter-punching with Gray, Townsend and Richarlison.

They went away to Madrid and played the exact same way for 90 minutes only a few days ago and got a draw. They’re undefeated since the start of May and are a CL team from La Liga. They aren’t a side anybody should expected a comfortable win against.
Injuries happen yes but so do these performances because of it. I said at half time that Ole failed to protect the back 4 and we needed Matic on to give us a base to attack from (which I was laughed at) and we improved 100 percent when he did come on.
We won, we were the better team in the second half with Ole completely out manoeuvring Emery with his subs and in game management which he got slaughtered for not doing in the final.

Lets not kid ourselves on last night.. we were extremely lucky we werent playing a clinical side, as they would have been out of sight come half time..

Bruno was prob the only player stood out to me for united as a positive. The man was covering every blade of grass for us.

And as for Ronaldo, im buzzing for him he got that goal at the end, but that was prob the first time ive watched him and thought 'that looks like a 36 year old striker'. He was really poor, and lacked any energy.

A hell of a result considering the circumstances. It gives us breathing room now to sort our sh*t out now and pick up some form before the next CL game.

    * And although im not a fan of Fred recently.. if you are one of the people booing him because hes being subbed on, shame on you. The last thing the team/ Fred needs.

I have no idea either, yet.
It’s our central midfield. People are trying to complicate it by pointing at our work rate up top but sometimes, when you see cheese, it’s cheese. It’s blindingly obvious that our lack of organisation and quality in CM is why our defenders are constantly exposed, why we can’t control games, and why none of our best attacks ever originate through good team play rather than individual brilliance.

Villareal battered us at home. If it wasn't for DDG, they would have scored another 1-2 goals. A wonder goal and a 94 minute goal isn't exactly what I'd describe as a tactical piece of art. It's more of we were incredibly lucky

If we had a half decent manager then we wouldn't be relying on DDG to save our arse.

Delighted by the win last night. What drama!
However a big reality check is needed.
We had the better players but Villarreal were the better team, better coached & organized. .
A wonder goal & Ronaldo’s amazing gift saved us as well as DdG’s keeping.
But we are not well coached, there’s no escaping that. The manager has to get the best from his team , he’s plainly not doing that. No denying it.

I fully agree and believe plenty of players in our squad would perform better if we had more of a plan, particularly going forward. OGS was a very good appointment to establish a good foundation, a positive atmosphere, a winning mentality and a clear transfer strategy. Now we sadly need somebody who is a little more versatile tactically. It's a little harsh on OGS, but at the same time we need to really enter the club of teams who can legitimately challenge for the CL again some time.
