Watford Football Club (nicknamed The Hornets, The Golden Boys, Yellow Army, and The 'Orns), are a professional football club based in Watford, Hertfordshire. Watford Rovers was formed in 1881 by Henry Groverand, who went on to play for the club as a fullback. Rovers, originally composed entirely of amateur players, held home games at several locations in the town of Watford. The team first competed in the FA Cup in the 1886-87 season, and in 1889 Watford won the County Cup for the first time. Renamed as West Hertfordshire in 1893, Rovers joined the Southern Football League in 1896, and started to pay professional footballers in 1897. West Hertfordshire merged with local rivals Watford St. Mary's in 1898; the merged team was named Watford Football Club.

After spending almost half century in the lower divisions of The Football League, Watford enjoyed its greatest era of success following Graham Taylor's appointment in 1977, rising from the Fourth Division to the First Division. The team also finished second in the First Division in the 1982/83 season, competed in the UEFA Cup in 1983/ 1984, and reached the 1984 FA Cup Final where they faced Howard Kendall's Everton. Watford's most prominent rivalry is with fellow South-Eastern English club Luton Town, and they have been playing their home games at Vicarage Road since 1922.

    No Lindelof at RB
    No Shaw
    No Rashford
    No Fred/Pogba/Bruno midfield

Although Watford did lose 1-4 at home to Palace tonight so maybe we could beat them with all of the above

Think there will be quite a few changes

Reckon Telles, Dalot, Elanga and Matic could all start

Not exactly spoilt for choice. Would give AWB and Telles a run as I think they should start the return leg. Its Watford so midfield 3 should be fine. Front 3 we don't have alternatives but the wingers are easy choices IMO. Would be nice if we could rotate Ronaldo.

We don't play for a week after this so no reason to rest players IMO.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------De Gea-------------------------------------------------------------
    Dalot----------------------------------------------Varane---------------------Lindelof--------------------------------Shaw
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------Mctom---------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------------------------------Bruno----------------------Pogba---------------------------------------------
    Elanga----------------------------------------------------------Ronaldo--------------------------------------------Sancho

This is what I'd play (Or Matic for Mctom if he's not available). Also wouldn't mind seeing Telles for shaw.

I think Maguire will start though. Hopefully he does well. He has been improving a little recently.

For the love of God, do not start Rashford and Ronaldo. Subs instead.

    Manchester United 2 : 1 Watford.

At this point I would have no problem with us playing a 3 4 3just because I don't trust any of our CBs.

    Ddg
    Awb Varane Shaw
    Fred McTominay Bruno Pogba
    Elanga Ronaldo Sancho

I hope he picks the team he finished with last night. Shaw and Rashford should be nowhere near the team. 2-1 Utd. Think/hope Ronaldo will score as he needs a goal badly.

I can hardly think of a more easy-looking fixture to have after midweek in Europe (thumped at home by Palace last week) ... it should be a 6-0 win but I'm sure we'll make damn hard work of it

It's funny how we started the season with lots of attackers, and now we don't even have more than 3-4 attacking options. Rashford is totally off, Elanga can't be trusted, Cavani is always injured, Lingard is Lingard, Martial is gone and Greenwood will not play for us again. That hurts.

Watford had just lost to Palace 1-4 at home and played on the same night as us. We have been pretty good recently so i reckon we’ll win 3-0. Hope to see Mata get a start

Was really confident for this game in Ole's last real test. We all know how that ended. Time for revenge.

Not having a dig at Ronaldo, but can a 37 year old keep playing every 3 days?

I get there may not be many options, but playing Rashford up front, then bringing Ronaldo on in second half must be a better option.
