That's an extremely negative line up for West Ham at home.
It is. On paper. But Rash should be rested. No Young and No Shaw. Herrera?, god knows. Matic should not play even if he is suddenly fit and maybe used against Barca.

That line up is only negative if you play in a negative way. Dalot and Lingard can offer width and that midfield did well against Barca. Martial and Lukaku is the only option if Rash is rested.

A.Gomes, Periera, Greenwood?, Chong and Garner should be used as options to save legs for Barca in the latter stages of this game.

If that 11 cannot beat West Ham at home then we have bigger problems than a team looking negative on paper. Infact, is it even negative? Why because of 3 at the back? That doesn't have to be a negative formation.

Anyway, i just feel like we will not play all the exciting youth at once and therefore due to injuries, suspensions and resting for Barca - this is the best option.

It's the personnel that are negative, not the formation. Unless you're instructing the wing backs to play as wingers.

    .............. De Gea
    ..... Smalling Lindelöf Rojo
    ... Dalot Fred Pogba Pereira
    ............. Lingard
    ........ Lukaku Martial

Something like that. I think he will want to rest Rashford.

Looks like we don't bother with press conference threads anymore. Everyone is too lazy.

The personnel are not negative. In midfield we have no choice really. In attack we do but like i said rash should be rested. Shaw and Young out and Lingard and Dalot take their place. I mean, as wing backs go, Lingard and Dalot will be pretty attack minded.

Not sure where you are getting the idea that the lineup is negative.

Where's the creativity coming from exactly? It's pretty much the same attacking bunch that took the field against an out of sorts Barca there for the taking and we didn't muster a single shot on target.

You're basically relying on a piece of magic from Pogba or a headed goal from a cross. There's no cuteness or creativity in the middle at all, as we've seen time and again this with a similar personell selection centrally.

Whats the option? A.Periera? Mata? The Youth?

They are options but they can be used off the bench. As we are going to be resting players for Barca towards the 60-70 min mark.

i think Fred, Pogba, Scott, Lingard, Dalot, Martial and Lukaku can create enough to hurt West Ham.

Get rid of a CB for a more offensive option. Or if you wanna play that back 5 take out one of Fred or McTominay in favour of a more creative player like Mata, Andreas or Lingard (swapping someone else to RWB in that instance).

We don't need 3 CBs plus 2 DMs against West Ham at home. Unless, as I said earlier, you're instructing the wingbacks to actually operate as wingers. But then in that case you need a plan to stop them getting dragged into fullback positions by West Ham's wide men.

To me this is the first true "must win" game of the season under Ole thus far. Theres plausible excuses for the other losses, but this one is a must win, both for Oles legitimatecy and the CL race for next season.

I'm starting to get real pissed off at Pogba. Is he playing poorly on purpose to force a transer to Real Madrid?
Don’t worry he’s been playing so badly recently Madrid are losing interest in him very rapidly, which is a shame.

Can't believe after torturing us with Young, we are now going to be afflicted with Darmian and Rojo.

Its April, let's at least give Dalot, Laird and Williams a go.

Yeah if we lose this the papers will start talking us down.

West Ham are awful at the back, if we don't beat these bums at home then forget about it. The revenge of Scott Mc Tominay against Ham.

West ham played pretty well away against Chelsea, this won't be easy if they're up for it.

At least there's no Payet to score a wondergoal.

    Completely forgot that.
Ecuador was so impotent, I only remember he was on the field because he's been listed as injured all this time yet there he was. I did not see a player that United needs to put on the field. He was ineffective for a team that was ineffective.

Chelsea away to Liverpool and Arsenal away to Watford. Good chance those two could drop points. put a fork in our chances and just play the kids if we lose this one.

Rest Rashford, keep the same midfield as the Barca game. No reason we shouldn't come out of this with 3 points.

Feeling confident we will win. Shaw missing is a big blow as potentially means Rojo or Darmian as one of the fullbacks.

    Starting XI:

    De Gea

    Dalot
    Lindelof
    Smalling
    Rojo

    McTominay
    Fred
    Pogba

    Rashford
    Lukaku
    Martial

    subs:

    Romero
    Darmian
    Bailly
    A.Pereira
    Mata
    Lingard
    Greenwood

    Score prediction:

    Manchester United 3-0 West Ham

    Goalscorers:

    Rashford X2 & Martial

this really is a must win for us with tricky games ahead

hope we play with the fast attacking football and really go for the throat from minute 1. West Ham are consistently inconsistent but they are game raisers against us and I worry about Anderson and Arnautovic as they can be excellent

Have a similar feeling.... and probably all in vain if Tuesday is in their sights
I'm sure the boys know how important the West Ham game is. We have like a 10% chance to beat Barca so there's no point thinking about it now. One game at a time.
