He’s made plenty of mistakes. I never trusted him. I don’t rate him whatsoever. I would rather Heaton play than him.
What mistakes apart from Liverpool game?

13 cleansheets in 26 games, conceded just 22 goals.

Even in PL, he played against good teams and conceded just 12 goals in 13 games.

People saying feck the cup! No way! I hope we win the thing!

Our squad is enormous and some players will get no other chances to play than maybe this and the FA Cup, and besides that, we need the likes of Van de Beek, Dalot, Sancho and maybe even Jones to get as many games as possible

Midfield is a quandary as we don't have the personnel there to rotate into the team and we need to be wrapping the PL midfielders in cotton wool for the proper campaigns.

He*on / Dalot, Bailly, Lindelof, Telles / Matic, Van de Beek, Lingard / Sancho, Martial, Cavani

Start Sancho, go for the win.

People will say feck the cup but I would love to win it. First trophy under Ole will be great. I was buzzing after the last League Cup win vs Southampton. Trophy is trophy.

Yup we have some really good options now. Think we won't really rotate quite that much.

Bruno instead of Mata, Shaw for Telles, Maguire for Bailly, AwB for Dalot.

1 game is all it takes to say player should never play.

Maybe no player deserves to play for us except Ronaldo and Varane.
Ronaldo had plenty of shite games for us. Barely even had a kick at Anfield in 2006/07, the fecking chancer. Fraudaldo.

    Fred - Matic - Donny
    Shaw- Maguire- Lindelof- Dalot

Cavani, Jones, Elanga, McT, Telles to sub in at some point.

Wasn’t there a rule that said a team couldn’t play 12:30 if they play on the previous Wed night?
what’s out next 2 fixtures about then?

That was for CL games followed by a BT/televised game. This isn't CL and the Villa game isn't televised. It was supposed to be on at 3pm but was brought forward because of some local concert in the evening.

The Everton game next weekend will surely be moved to the 7.45pm slot.

Oh right but I dont think it’s supposed to be just televised games since non televised games are very rarely on at that time without being selected by BT?
Seems a bit of a grey area there.

What? Are you serious? He was shit. His performance in the 2-4 defeat to Liverpool was something Massimo Taibi would be ashamed of.
You don’t half come up with some shite.

He’s a very good keeper who has made some mistakes. Wherever he ends up he will be brilliant.

I think the local police authorities advised to move the Villa game. Don't think the new Wednesday evening/Saturday lunch time competition rule is of a significant priority to them.

Seems like we just played these guys...

I expect a better result this time. More convincing on the score line. Thought we controlled the game fairly well on Sunday, but we need more goals. Not expecting a huge amount of rotation, not more than three or four players. Fully expecting VdB to start this one, though, and maybe Lingard.

It’s better to play Lingard in a position of Mata, and Elanga LW. Would be stronger

Cup game threads are always pure guesswork at lineups aren't they. Why do we do this.

I reckon Ole goes quite strong. We've lots of strength off the bench though if he fancies heavy rotation from the start.

No bruno, no ronaldo, no pogba. Figure it out with the rest of what we have. Should have enough to put forth a pretty strong lineup regardless.

Yeah, that's what I'm expecting. Mata in the team will allow Donny to have some semblance of the way he played at Ajax. Fred's going to be busy though.

Hope Dave continues his form. I get that Henderson needs at least the cup games, but let's hope Dave is back to his old self.

    Maguire needs a performance.

I like the look of this, maybe play mcsauce isn’t of Matic though? Save Matic’s legs for Saturday, he proved with his assist the other day that he can be useful for us still in big games, even if from the bench.

The Ole out thread will be poppin' if we lose this game
Yeah I don’t wish that on anyone. Would be really ironic considering it would in effect be a blessing in disguise though. Such a pointless competition.

I don't want Mata in the starting line up. I''d Elanga on the left (we kept him for a reason), Sancho on the right, Lingard and Martial through the middle. Matic and VDB in the midfield.

We won't be playing youth players that's for sure.

    Heaton
    Dalot--Lindelof--Bailly--Shaw
    Matic--VdB
    Sancho--Lingard--Martial
    Greenwood

    or
    Matic--Fred
    Sancho--VdB--Lingard
    Martial

Like others have said, this is a great game for the likes of Sancho and Martial to get minutes.

Just let Ronaldo have the night off completely and Bruno too.
