We could loose 5-0 and it still wouldn't be Ole's last game. There's been zero indication anywhere his job is at risk
And even if it looks like we'll do it, Neville will throw a tantrum on tv and stall the sacking for another 2 months.

Ole will finally meet his game changer aka the longstaff. That's an emotional game for him

Agreed. Which is why I've said her twice that there is no way I'm calling for Ole's head. But I have also said that come the end of the season, he will quit given that he' a hugely decent guy. What angers me is he should never have been given the job in the first place. The board said they'd wait til the end of the season and yet they jumped the gun. Which means a club legend will get the blame and (to some extent) his legendary status at the club will be harmed. Picking former club legends as manager failed at Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle (to name but a few) and the arrogant board thought they new better
I think if we can avoid a complete disaster like finishing bellow 10 or something, he will stay to bring in new mids and attackers and see how the team will do then. If after next summer we'll be just as crap as we are now, i'll be the first to say "it's time to go". He deserves the time to replace the players that have already failed 2 established managers, that's all i'm saying.

With AZ thought a draw or loss but I do see a small chance of a win here. Thing is Ole is breaking new records

If the stats are correct Brucey hasn't beat United, won 0, drawn 5 and lost 17 but with Ole in charge and going where Moyes couldn't reach it might just be his first win. Newcastle fans will be pumped up and sense blood, players will be for it and to make amends for the 5-0 defeat recently.

Can't see us winning us, draw is the best we can hope for as their fans will smell blood and going to create a hostile atmosphere and we don't travel well at all right now.

    That bad, eh?
Honestly, as bad as United are the now, Scotland (football) are even worse. We have a lot of talented midfielders and left-backs  that really is about it! So I think I will definitely be sticking with the Rugby World Cup. It's quality to watch anyway, my second favourite sport after football (along with golf).

The thing with Norway, at least, is that it's very little hope of ever winning anything major. With United you have a real chance it will work out in the end.

Yup, same with Scotland. That's why things are tough right now, because United really are in a dark place.

Just the 90 more minutes of suffering until the international break. Can't wait!
But hey, after the international break, we'll get to host Liverpool. Won't that be fun?

Newcastle are second bottom with one win and only 4 goals.
Watch them become the globetrotters at the weekend.

If we dont win this I will be seriously worried about the bottom of the league never mind the top 6

Anyone actually looking forward to this game? I would rather watch paint dry, at least I know i would have a result out of it.

After a bore 1-0 defeat Ole will come out and say we didn't take our chances after we had one shot on goal.

Same old story after EVERY game.. these excuses need to stop.

Eight league games in and we're already running on fumes in terms of the squad, it's poetic justice for Ole and Woodward. I've been going back and forth on this one, because part of me thinks even a team as inept as ours should be able to get a sneaky 0-1 win against perhaps the worst team in the league.

Then I remember Astana, Southampton, Palace, Rochdale, Alkmaar and think - no, we aren't capable.

It's alright for you guys, I need to watch Scotland after the game on Sunday! :( Good thing I'm a rugby fan and have the World Cup to watch...
Well those 2 minutes of Flower of Scotland are always joy to watch at least. I get goosebumps every time i hear that. And i am not even Scottish:)

I genuinely think we'll lose this one. We've taken better squads up there for the last 3 or 4 seasons and still lost/underperformed.

Won there easily enough last season...some guy called Lukaku scored.

Has the feeling of another 0-0, 1-1. Steve Bruce will be desperate not to lose after 5-0 last week.

We need to attack to get a penalty.

Could not be a better game for team or manager under pressure , we are poor but they are atrocious.

If we don't win this one we can give up on the season.

It won't be pretty but we should get the win.

Can genuinely see us not winning this game, that's how bad we are right now.

as a matter of interest are there any optimists left in the cafe. I used to be a (pretty much) loan voice crying in the wilderness. Now I certainly seem to be in a huge majority

    We all love United
Is Pogba genuinely out? Martial and Shaw yes but I don’t see any news on Pogba. Latest is that he only needs rest on his foot

Easy 2-0 win for United though

Watch our inept midfield make Shelvey and Longstaff look like Xavi and Iniesta.
I remember one of our games against them last season. We made Shelvey look like Xavi, Iniesta and Zidanes lovechild.

It doesn't matter. Our midfield will be uninspired and our attack will lack movement and cohesion.

Reckon we can scrape our way to a 1-0, but it won't be pretty.

We'd be better off playing with this really when we're at full strength

    De Gea

    Tuanzabe Lindelof Maguire

    AWB Mctominay Fred Shaw

    Pogba

    Rashford Martial
    Maybe for this game though

    De Gea

    Tuanzabe Lindelof Maguire

    Dalot Mctominay Fred Young

    Gomes

    Greenwood Rashford

    AWB - Tuanzebe - Maguire - Williams
    -------------McTom - Garner
    Greenwood - Gomes - James
    ------------------ Rashford

With the state of our squad I'd rather put Tuanzebe, Williams, Garner, Gomes & Greenwood in there for a run of games and see where it takes us.

Let them develop, remain patient and accept that we're achieving nothing this season other than maybe ending up with 4 or 5 promising youngsters ready to play a big part next year.

I honestly think that team would do as well if not better than if replaced with Young, Fred, Mata & Pereira, and at least there's an upside to their development.

Lindelof / Tuanzebe is the only tricky one for me. Happy with either.

Blimey are these rough times or what.

Edit: Also, I'd replace Rashford with Martial when he finally comes back from this mystery injury, give Rashford a much needed stint on the bench to rest / light a fire under his ass.
