It's been so long since we've played our players should be so up for this game, I'm expecting a 3-0 win for Man Utd.

Cannot understand how we've hardly played Cavani at all after he was our best player last season.
Not sure but maybe him being injured and coming back late from every international break compared to the European players might play a part.

Oh yeah, there's a certain top scorer we have upfront who's pretty good too.

I really hope Rangnick decides to play Varane and Lindelof as our starting centre back partnership. Not only have they been our best defenders this season, but hopefully it gives our "captain" the kick in the backside he really needs.

Tbh I'm expecting them to be flat for the same reason. As a group they don't seem to be particularly good at motivating themselves without a spur. Although in fairness Ronaldo isn't the type to let his teammates relax too much at least and they still need to impress the new manager so let's hope you're right!

I worry for this match, it would be so like United to lose this one. Let’s hope Ralf can get them up focused.

We have to beat these lot because they’re crap. No excuses not to get 6 points before the end of the year, unless games are cancelled obviously.

United was crap against Norwich and was very lucky to win. If United concede the same chances to Newcastle they did to Norwich its game over.

i don't get this arrogance that we will just turn up and play Newcastle off the park. With Newcastle having Saint-Maximum they always have a chance against any team, if he fancies it and turns up he's a match-winner.

i think every game United play right now is a battle and United fans need to be realistic regarding expectations and respect every team. When was the last time we thrashed a team 3-4 goals to nill? Months ago.

    Ronaldo

Three changes for me. Varane is world class and simply one of the best defenders of this generation, so has to play. If Donny can’t get the game against the team at the foot of the table, then I don’t know when he will play. He’s not replacing Scholes or Carrick either, rather Scotland’s bang average centre back who plays there because McGinn, Gilmour and even McGregor and Christie from the SPL are better options than him in his natural position. Mason has looked very good in his cameos, and has definitely outperformed Marcus this season. The rest of the team picks itself.

    Newcastle 0-2 United. Ronaldo x1, Mason x1.
You've got it sussed. That's exactly why McTominay plays at CB for Scotland.

Saint-Maximum Vs Dalot will be the most important and good battle to watch out for during the game and probably the main battle United need to win in order to win the game. You know Wan-Basaka would have that on lockdown in his back pocket if he started the game (which he would under Ole) but it will be a test of how good Dalot is defensively in this game as I feel what Dalot offers going forward is important to how Rangnick plays with the narrow 4-2-2-2 the fullbacks need to provide the width. So I hope Dalot can have a good game.

the Cavani disrespect in this thread is shocking. Surely if he's fit he starts ahead of both Rashford and Greenwood? And all sources say Rangnick has a full strength team.

both Rashford and Greenwood are too selfish and not physical enough to compliment Ronaldo (one of the strikers need to be the less selfish and greedy one in order to make a strike partnership work). Ronaldo has earned the right to be the main-man and needs a Benzema-type striker to get the best out of him and Cavani is the best striker we have (right now) to compliment Ronaldo.

I can't believe we have only seen Ronaldo and Cavani start 1 game together this season which was Spurs away.. which considering Spurs just drew with Liverpool and should have beat them it makes United win even more impressive. And maybe suggests we should start them together upfront more.

Could be the usual away game, they score first and get the crowd up. We slowly get into the game score a wonder goal which deflates the crowd and snatch a couple more. Toon fans walking out with ten minutes to go and we score again. 4-1 Man Utd.

After today's results, this is an absolute must win if we're to get into the top 4! Can't afford to be dropping points to shite.

We’re getting way ahead of ourselves here. Even if we lost, all it would take is for Arsenal to get pumped by City and us to beat Burnley and we’re 5 points behind them with 2 games in hand. There’s so much more of the season to go. It only feels like a must win because we haven’t played in so long.

Saw the quotes from the presser of the game and I have to say it : These Journalists are asking shit questions and they aren't got a clue, bloody hell!

most of the comments are about covid, who the feck cares ? ask him about the training he did with the players ? is he satisfied from what he's seen in the last week from them ?
