The real test was the friends we made along the way.

Yeah but if we win today, we can afford to lose both those games technically. United over the past season and a half have always dropped points when our rivals have dropped points. This feels big.We still play both Liverpool and Chelsea, both those matches have more impact than tonight. Three points tonight don't mean anything more or less than three points against Palace on the weekend
I think they are under so much pressure to pick up points now, we should go there and somewhat just manage the game and play on the counter. They will push bodies forwards. We need to go for the win here to capitalise on Liverpool's defeat and open a 6 point gap on them
As if we really need that. The old.saying about a bucket of crabs springs to mind.Mods have said it is up as a reminder of the "dark days."
I'd play Sesko for a bit more height in the box - Newcastle have some pretty big players. Dunno the status of Shaw's injury but he's looked back to his slow self since West Ham, so I'd be tempted to make a change there too.
wild to move one of our best players from his favourite positionI'd like to see Mbuemo on the left and Amad on the right today. We need some width on that left side and I don't think sitting our only 1v1 dribbling threat is the correct move.
100% my only qualm with dropping Cunha to the bench is that he along with Bruno and Case are the ones who will play that transitional ball from deep, Cunha is also very good for taking the heat out of the game by keeping possession and/or winning a foul, unfortunately we cannot have both and whoever we drop from the front 4 will be a lossI'd like to see Mbuemo on the left and Amad on the right today. We need some width on that left side and I don't think sitting our only 1v1 dribbling threat is the correct move.
Yeah a win is doable but still taking a pointThe last few games felt bigger in terms of "will they bottle this" than this one. That is, having found a way to win when we needed to win, to capitalize, I'm less worried about tonight re pressure. However the game goes, I don't think they'll feel the pressure at all.
Won't be an easy game, though. Some say they'd take a point. Not for me. I think a win is more than doable here. Only question is fitness.
Totally in agreement, the Geordie Bast**** will be overweight stripped to the waste fanatics tonight, their team will run through brick walls to beat us tonight. But we need to soak up their 100 mile an hour charge at us early on and show our mettle, and, as all top sides do, manage the game and use our own strengths to prove we are well worth a Champions League place. We, as previous United sides (admittedly nostalgia involved here a la Cantona et al) can display that we can thrive in this atmosphere. We have players who should be "chomping at the bit" to play in games such as these. "Big club"....let us show them the true meaning of what a "BIG CLUB" is.expecting to watch in wonder and question why Newcastle are so low in the league after an aggressive/committed performance from them.
He won't be playing tonight.Did Carrick give an update on Martinez in yesterdays presser?
I feel like tonight could be a scrappy game and Martinez loves a scrap.

With Licha it’s a small issue, so he’s getting closer, he won’t be out for very long so we’ll just monitor him over the next day, two, three, four days and see when he can come back but he is not far away."
I think Sesko will start on the bench.
Yeah can be very hostile if they crowd behind thenWe certainly can't start as poorly as we did against Palace with the amount of needless turnovers. Get their crowd whipped up won't help at all.
Maz replaces DalotSame team as last game except Mazroui replaces Amad
