    I hope the over zealous “Carrick” must be given the permanent gig crowd takes a breather and pause, just for now.

    Performances haven’t been good for a while now and we’ve been getting the results though. Kudos to him. But I still see a main dependence on counter attacking and sitting deep. I don’t think (not at this moment in football anyway), that’s enough and that will get you to dominate games.

    But I’m not expert. Just an opinion.
     
    Need a goal and this lot passing it backwards and having pass around against 10 men.
     
    Toon are the champions again tonight, they won their most important match of the season.
     
    Honestly you’d think we’d try to get a decent ball in. Newcastle are a horrible team. feckers go down at every opportunity. What the feck was wrong with ramsdale when we had the momentum?

    Terrible display. That one comes down to Carrick for his poor tactics. Only one team came to play to win today.

    Mbeumo was hands down, without a doubt, no question, United's worst attacking player on the pitch today. It's not even remotely debatable. Due to his match form and yellow card, he should have been replaced by Amad at half-time. Lest we forget the gilt-edged chance he ballooned over the bar.
     
    Carrick looks like thunder , I hope he decks a few of them in the dressing room , attitude from players was shameful.
     
    Fecking useless. Shambolic performance. Inexcusable really.

    This team just showed it's true colors. Such a lack of quality and grit when it matters. And no composure at all. We had 45 minutes to move the ball around, create overload situations and either cross the ball for Sesko or look for the cutback. It barely happened.

    This one sucks, but it was coming. These performances could not continue leading to wins.

    The thin squad is a Piss poor excuse really, we will probably play half the games of the other teams challenging for cl and Newcastle.

    In terms of sesko. That wasn't the problem, the problem was carrick is always far to slow to change things as he was at Middlesborough. He has been a great interim but that should be it
     
    Wheres the tempo gone, just so slow and lethargic. The only time we saw any urgency was when we went behind. Sesko never had a sniff, mbeumo well off his form.

    Amad should have started as he’s one of the few players we have who has a high intensity which is needed at Newcastle and especially when Mbeumo has been in horrific form for a while.
     
    We have been poor all night, even when we had a period of possession and pressure late in the 2nd half.
    10 man Newcastle outplayed us for 75% of this match and a break away counter attack was written all over the last 10 or 15 minutes.

    We are back to the ..can’t score to save our lives …form.

    The reason is blindingly obvious.

    It’s absolutely ridiculous how we’ve had a poor midfield for so fecking long.
     
    On another night either Yoro scores that header, or Mainoo’s 25 yarder goes in or Zirkzee’s finished top bins - and we go on and win. If so it would mask the performance. Hopefully tonight is a big wake up for urgency and intensity from the first minute. No excuses for being off the pace with no distractions.

    Yeah, he had a shocker tonight. Seems to throw these games in sometimes. Was the same in that defeat at home to Everton.
     
    Carrick isn't the one missing the chances that Mbeumo/Yoro should score or mistakes that Case/Bruno are making etc. Nobody had complaints with the lineup, I think it's only the timings of the subs that we've issues with

    You can only deviate as much as your players allow, he has basically 0 options, with very inflexible limited players.
     
    This is not on Carrick. The nosedive this team took after a couple of substitutions was immense. Malacia looked like a twelve year old and Ugarte…

    But that’s what happens when you play the same eleven players for straight six weeks. And in this case the players mentioned haven’t played this whole season - why because they aren’t good enough. But pair that with no games and this is the result.

    Let’s hope no injuries and that next game is not this kind of circus.
     
    Not a great game.

    When Casemiro, Shaw, Mazraoui (who’s not great anyway) are off, we really don’t have suitable backups. We need to blitz them first half then shore up, not walk around first half then try to win in the last 25 minutes.

    Mainoo and Zirkzee both forced top saves. And Yoro!
    Mbeumo had two good chances wasted.

    Poor management from Carrick. Poor performances from too many.

    Sesko was being kept quiet by big Dan Burn. It’s a shame Sesko doesn’t use his height and physicality more, he seems to get bullied from the ball a lot, and needs to finish on the first touch.
     
    Worst game under Amorim and one of the worst performances of the season. This was Amorim level. Mazraoui and Mbuemo had a nightmare to be honest all players should end their salary to charity. Malacia was cooked the second he stepped on the pitch it was clear they will try to score trough him. The last several games were shite this one was without the extra luck. Massive defeat points wise. It can cost us the CL spot. We play once in a week no excuses. It feels like Ole all over again. Miracle start then shite...

    Well, yes. But it infuriates me every time we play them. Just bulldozes through us. It’s why our record against them is so poor; when they’re all playing, their midfield three just steamrollers ours.

    Because we allow him to by being slow, weak and timid in his area of the pitch. We’ve struggled with big bullies in midfield for ages like we did with Moussa Dembele to name one.

    It helps of course when you have a ref that doesn’t think sarcastic clapping constitutes dissent which allowed him to stay on the pitch for the duration of the game rather than being sent off after 30 minutes.

    The other notable bullying he did of us was the time he towered over Martinez to score against us, when he clearly batted the ball in with his arm and nobody bothered to check it in the VAR room.
