Newcastle United Football Club nicknamed The Magpies, Toon Army, or Geordies - are an English professional football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne; and were formed by a merger between Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End in 1892 when West End's results were at an all-time low, and in which they had lost to their bitter rivals, East End, five times, West End found themselves in serious trouble. They approached East End with a view to a take over, the directors having decided that the club could no longer continue. The club was elected to the Football League, which they entered in 1893; and are England's equal-eighth most successful club of all time - having won a total of 4 League Championships and 6 FA Cup titles; along with 1 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and 1 UEFA Intertoto Cup. Newcastle United's most noteworthy rivalries include Sunderland (dubbed the Tyne-Wear Derby); and they play their home games at St. James' Park - the oldest and largest football stadium in North East England, as well as the sixth-largest football stadium in the United Kingdom.

If there is ever a game that's got a bore draw 0-0 written all over it then it's definitely this one.

0-0. The media will spin it as a heroic draw in a tough away fixture.

I'd drop half of them. Assuming Rooney starts since has has to play...

    Dave
    Young - Smalling - Blind - Darmian
    Morgan - Periera
    Adnan - Rooney - Memphis
    Martial

Not looking forward to this one, a game that will be horrible to watch and we could easily lose.

Copied and pasted into every game thread.

    My prediction: 1-0 to Newcastle.
It's an away game, so that swings it for me.

If they take the game to us we won't be able to handle it...this team is soft as feck and mentally weak.

    2-0 newcastle.

Newcastle to sit back and hit us on the counter with the pace of players like Wjandulum.

we drew 0-0 against them at OT when they were really awful at the start of the season, no way we're winning it now.

I just want to see that, just once, for the love of god, we lose the possession stats. That is all.

I won money today for going 0-0 HT score.

We're away to Newcastle - so yeah I'll go with another 0-0, this time FT.

Will that get him the sack?
    Nope.
Apparently he needed to lose those 2 games (Chelsea and Stoke). He only lost 1 of them, drew the other, so that was deemed good enough.
I think for him to get the sack now, he will need to go on another 8 game run of not winning games.

He has been saved by having 3 home games on the trot. Our home performances are bland (the score lines aren't actually too bad). But our away performances are weak AND the scorelines are bad. And this is an away game, which is why I think we will lose. Only an OG or penalty can save us in this game.

I think if we lose Tuesday night and to Liverpool the fan pressure may force the board into a decision sooner. Well I hope anyways.

Almost hope we lose so we avoid going to Liverpool with this philosphy.

Best he goes asap so we can actually try and do better than last season. Right now last season's position of 4th seems like a fecking pipe dream.

I think Mata and Herrera will be dropped for this one and Carrick and Schneiderlin will come into midfield. Hopefully Young will be back.

The obviously don't realise what the fallout will be if we lose to Liverpool.

Losing to LFC is no big deal.
Remember under Moyes? We lost to LFC (he kept his job). Then to MCFC (he kept his job). Then again to MCFC (he kept his job). Then finally again to LFC - this time he did lose his job.
Was it Everton, MCFC and LFC who did the double on us that season?
In any case, 1 loss to LFC isn't sackable - its just 1 game.
That game against Wolfsburg was far bigger.

Anyone expecting him to be sacked is going to be disappointed IMO. The board look at numbers and if he's "winning" there's no need for them to sack him. Quality of football doesn't matter to them. If there was a point in time when he could've been sacked, then getting out of the CL was it - if he managed to survive that, then he's definitely surviving until the end of the season - unless he fails to win the top 4 trophy.

I demand to not be bored this time, or there will be serious consequences -- if I fall asleep during the game, I won't be able to sleep at night :(

We should have been favorites for this, but it could easily be a loss or draw. But I'm going to take a wild guess at a 0-1 win in a best case scenario.
