3 same starters from the Sheffield United game? A bit of a risk playing basically a 2nd string team against a first choice Norwich team but the changes was needed with more important PL games coming thick and fast.

Hopefully that United team is strong enough to win but not the end of the world if they don't
I would hardly call mctominay fred Bruno midfield second string. Also the defense is maguire Shaw and Bailey who everyone was begging to be started against a must win game vs Sheffield. It's not the first choice but it's a remarkably strong line up in my opinion.

Bruno and Lingard linking up reminds me of that movie 21 Jump Street

 There will always be a complaint no matter the lineup. Think it is more than enough to do the job, striking a balance between first 11 players and B team players. And if needed, lots of firepower on the bench.

Mata and Bruno did well together from what i remember. We'll need good support from Dalot though as Mata stays very narrow.
Problem is there's basically no fast player in that attack. And they'd just have to go strong and tightly marked Bruno then it's Mata, Lingard and Ighalo to break the defense. Gonna be tough. Hope I'm wrong though.

I support your right to say stupid things, I hope you equally support my right to call them out.
Who are you exactly to clarify my opinions as stupid or not ? What's even stupid in asking to rest Shaw and play Williams today ?

Not really confident looking at that side Norwich still play good football, they have enough to hurt us.

You have to say for Bruno though that his fitness has been impeccable. Guy runs like crazy all game, and plays every game. Just has great stamina. So if any of the attackers were to play again, not surprised it's him (even if I'd have rested him just in case with the quick pile up at the beginning of the restart). Anyway, hope he'll be fine, but generally he has a very good fitness record.

From the line-up, it looks like we're expecting a lot of the ball.

    Not much pace there.

Bruno, Mata, Lingard - looks like we're gonna be trying to unlock a deep defence (maybe that's why James isn't in the squad?)

Not expecting a pretty watch. Very strong bench though if things are going tits-up.

    Prediction: 1-0.

We have a very solid midfield and defence out there, a world class player in attack and Ighalo can score goals. I'm confident. Pretty much the same side that was dominant in the europa league game before the lockdown.

Norwich have a bad defense and smart players with technique can harm defense all day. Norwich will sit back and could be picked apart or allow United to get in behind if they're caught up field with Lingard runs, Ighalo target and one of Bruno or Mata running in late and McTominay roaming forward.

Perfect mix of starters, those players just behind the starters and a couple of players that need games for the run in.
to me this is a pretty strong line up and our bench is incredible!

9/11 Had James & Williams starting instead of Bruno & Shaw.

I’m satisfied with the starting XI that Ole has chosen. Got very good options to bring off the bench if we need too. I didn’t expect Bruno to start as thought he would have either been rested completely or benched. Just hope he gets through this match unscathed as we have huge games in the league coming up.

    Why isn't Brandon Williams playing?

Was also going to ask why is Harry Maguire starting but then remembered out rubbish our centre back choices are.

I think the lineup is pretty solid. Ole will take Bruno off if we are winning or put the big guns on for the last 30 if we are struggling. We’ve got some serious quality on the bench today. Looking at the lineups I’m still fairly confident we can win without risking too much. I just hope Bruno can stay injury free. There was a nervous moment he went down against Sheffield Utd and we are heading back towards square one if we lose him on this run in. It definitely highlights the need for more creativity in midfield in our squad. It’s also telling Andreas can’t get a start even in a rotated side.

Nothing wrong with what you said. You, along with a lot of other people, would have been surprised to see Fernandes and Shaw in the team. Someone is just having a bad day.

Moaning at lineups is a caf tradition.
People complain less than expected. Lingard and Mata start and people are happy with it.
I guess people only care about the league sadly.
I want to bloody win something rather than watch City and Liverpool getting it all!

Dalot and Shaw worry me the most and you never quite know with Bailly could be excellent or terrible.

Midfield is okay should win the battle there,
Upfront hasn’t really played for a while could be a problem too..

I‘m shitting with you. I’ve already explained the latter though, you’re making an assertion with half of the information required to do so. Williams might not have been training well, might not be fit, might have a tight calf, might have a cold. It’s just daft to question why players are playing when we don’t have any of that info.

Hope that's the case. However I'm not confident at all with an attack that play both Lingard and Mata.

I hope we'l have most of the possession so pace might not be the biggest issue, i suspect this is what Ole was thinking too. Mata is not bad at all at finding good passes and with Bruno, we hopefully have enough to break them. If not, bring the cavalry in the second half.

Norwich were crap against us. Their most dangerous player was Hernandez and he's on the bench. You should breeze through this.

I like the team. Stunned to see Fosu Mensah there on the bench. Good gesture given all the injuries he has had.

Interesting lineup there - but the games really are flooding in, so we have to make these changes.

Yeah, that was nerve-wracking. Hope Ole won't regret this. Kill the game quickly, sink 'em with 3 goals and sub out Bruno early.

No I didn't say pace, I said fast. Fast enough to get that required feet.

Not sure why Williams isn't being given a game.

Are we playing the same* team that played in the last round for the sake of it? Seems a bit amateurish if it's more than a coincidence.
