    United minus the Glazers
Apart from our last game against these guys, have we ever put out a consistently domineering performance from start to finish against any opponent?

The Fred replacement will probably make or break our chances here.

    Whoever won the game
RB Lepizig have good squad depth, a solid back line, cannot see them losing like they did at Old Trafford.

Angeliño is going to be a threat for Wan-Bissaka, can see Kampl marking Bruno.

Leipzig defence looking very susceptible but also deadly on counter.
There defence was equally as shocking against Istanbul, some really amateurish mistakes, we've got the players to punish them, it just depends if we decide we want to be clinical that night or not. if we do we will win easily but you know how United are, we have to make it as tough as possible for ourselves.

    Cavani

    Rashford--------Bruno-----Greenwood

    Matic-------McT

    Shaw Maguire Lindelöf AWB

    *Henderson
A high scoring draw like the one they produced vs Bayern will do.

    I think we'll draw 2-2.

    *De Gea if fit

    Losing to Comeback Winning!
Basically two scenario to get us through?
    1. Win
    2. Draw any scores?

Sounds so easy.. until me miss chances on a routine basis.

If Ole park the bus and hit counter attack, will Ole fans support that? hypocritical as that is the very thing Mou will set-up and gets criticized in return. "Not United".

    Not really?

Mourinho doesn’t own or have a patent on sitting deep and hitting teams on the break, nor is it a particular rare thing and Ole has done it many times.

Would go with above but with Axel instead of Shaw and Matic instead of McT, don't think we'll throw Shaw in straight away even if fit. Pace upfront is essential and with a back 3 allows us to play Bruno and Pogba.

Yeah I agree. Entire game basically depends on if our forwards bring their scoring boots with them. They didn’t vs PSG but did vs West Ham.

Could be a shootout, they will attack as it's the only way they play and Ole must know we aren't built to play for a draw, our best players are attack minded. The big plus is their style plays to our biggest strengths.

If Luke Shaw is fit enough to start I think Ole will consider mirroring them and go with a 5-3-2, if not I reckon the diamond makes the most sense as Cavani and Martial are both out.

Yeah I'm not sure about throwing Shaw back in either, that was my big reservation but I'm perfectly fine with Axel starting instead.

I prefer Matic to McTominay but I put McTominay in there for his legs because I think it will be required vs Leipzig

I’ll be astonished if we go three at the back here. If they score first, we then I think will have to change our setup and I’m just not comfortable with that against a high pressing team like RB.

We should go 4231 and play a tad deeper if we want to counter attack, with Greenwood in the half-space and pogba attacking from deep in a counter.

    —————Rashford———————————-
    ———————————————Greenwood
    ———————-Bruno———————————
    Pogba——————————————————
    ——————Matic——Mctominay————
    Telles———Maguire——-Lindelof—AWB
    ————————Henderson———————
3 at the back should be fine to start with. If they do score early we can easily change game plan as we are allowed 5 subs.

Another Russian Roulette of a game. Do we shoot ourselves in the head or get away with it?

    Who knows?

I do hope they are taking a serious look at the formation, we could be without Cavani and Martial(almost certain)

Hope Rashford stays fit. They normally play attacking football so there'll be spaces to run into. I don't think they'll be able to live with him if he's at it all game.

If we have the midfield to put him and Greenwood through, they'll find it hard to live with them

Questionable defending from both sides. RBs first goal is what Haller should have done to us, so we can't afford to be caught too square.

    Gaps in that defence though

I don't watch German football, but that Coman guy is something else.
Why the hell are Barca spending £130M+ on Dembele, when they could've got Coman?

I'm not sure what I want to see. 10 defenders? or all out attacking? Either way is fine but everything in between and a loss will leave me feeling really unsatisfied.

Hmm. Wonder if we’ll miss Fred even more?
We definitely will miss Fred more. Fred is the only player we have that can play against these pretty teams. His also our only midfielder that presses consistently. We will definitely concede a goal or 2.

Watched them against Bayern yesterday and they seem to have the same problem as they’ve had in all matches I’ve seen: attackers running in behind the defenders. The centre backs push forward without thinking that something might happen behind them. Hopefully a player like Cavani can take advantage of that.

I suspect so too. Will be interesting to see how we try to mitigate this loss.

I hate how much emphasis people are putting on this as if it's a make or break game for Ole.

Are we likely to go and win the CL if we get through? I think it's highly unlikely. So going out in the last 16 or last 8 is hardly going to feel any better.

I think we will get a result and progress but I'm under no illusions about our chances to win the damn thing.

I have a feeling this is going to be a great game.
If we show composure going forward, we will get a good result. Confident we'll get chances.

Thats only from OleOUTers, who are trying to set up a false and ridiculous premise that losing this game is a sackable offence. Which of course it isn't, and won't happen if we lose.

Losing this would be a huge blow to you and your comrades.

But luckily for you, even Ole won't feck this up.

Had we needed to win, possibly. A draw is very achievable. 2-2 draw.

    Things in our favour:

    1) It’s away
    2) Their best defender is out.
    3) We must get a result (player mentality).
    4) They play a high Defensive line and appear stubborn not to change.
    5) I predicted we’d lose to PSG and need a result in Germany (which we get).

2-2 barn stormer with us hanging on in the last 5-10 minutes. Goals from Rashford and Cavani off the bench.

Coman is very injury prone. That's why. It's prevented him from fulfilling his potential.

He's still very good player, mind. Scored in The CL final.

Martial FC wanted him dropped for France so that Martial could get more caps.
