Would imagine we'll draw 0-0 or lose 1/2-0.

After all the success the other English teams have had by scoring and attacking we're bound to sit back and invite pressure in front of a raucous home crowd.

    Someone is bound to bite...

    kinda half-serious...

How will they score half a goal?

    Arg, white text.

    • Sevilla have a goal difference of -4.
    • They have scored 31 goals in total in the league in 24 matches.
    • Player to watch out is Wassim ben Yeddar who has 6 goals for them in the league.
    • 11 of their 31 goals are from set peices
    • Scored 12(6 from set peices) in Champions league and Conceded 12

Can't wait. Nothing beats the excitement for knock out Champions League football.

    Judging from injuries, I'd hazard a guess at this being the side;

    De Gea
    Valencia - Smalling - Bailly - Young
    Herrera - Matic - Pogba
    Lingard - Lukaku - Alexis

Personally would have Martial or Mata ahead of Lingard, and Shaw over Young.

Lukaku should stay away from their corners then.

Carrick has played 4 times this season, I think only 3 of those were starts. He also played a full 90 minutes last night, do you really expect him to start in our biggest game of the season so far, especially with it being away from home to Spanish opposition?
He is slowly getting back up to full fitness so I don't see why he couldn't play 70mins in this game. He brings experience and calms the whole team when he plays. If Herrera is back then you put him in there but again he won't be match fit. McTominay has done okay when called upon but personally I'd go with Carrick.

Should be knocking this lot out. If Sevilla start pressing us properly, it could turn ugly. If they just go full gung-ho, we will finish the tie in Spain.

Quietly confident In all honesty. Probably misplaced confidence but every time I've seen sevilla this season (admittedly not loads), they've been all over the shop defensively and I expect us to score a couple out there, and see it out at home.

Smalling is obvious because of aerial abilities plus Mou always plays him. But is Bailly up for 90 minutes CL football? That is bit of risk taking. But he let Rojo start in his first comeback match, if I remember correctly.
Personally, I would like to see 3 at the back, with Lindelöf, Smalling and Bailly.

I hope we don't see another Jones and Smalling pairing, hopefully Bailly starts, and I think Martial will be on the bench, but I'm not sure who will get the 3rd midfield spot between Lingard, Herrera and McTominay.

Difficult game ahead for us. We will face a very stong team with a lot of energy and technically very good. They will press us very high and will probably cause us a lot of issues.

We will probably face a game like we had at Celta Vigo last year. Them having the ball and we'll try to be solid.

I don't expect much from us tomorrow but a few counters and a goal, but as we are POOR recently I really think that we will struggle.

I hope for a 4-3-3 with hopefully a better control of the games than what we saw recently (spurs, newcastle, huddersfield)

Doubt over the CBs. Seems like Jones is injured, I'd love to see Bailly there, but not sure about his fitness level. Rojo ? He has been a nightmare this season.

    De Gea

    Valencia
    Bailly
    Smalling
    Shaw

    Matic
    Pogba
    Mc Tominay

    Martial
    Lukaku
    Sanchez

    Prediction 1-1

Three in the middle, and any combo of CB which doesn't include Jones and Smalling.

That's crazy when you think about it.
It makes it even more frustrating, why it took 3 years to get Jose in.
Had he taken over from SAF, I am sure we'd have one at least 1 league title and would be regulars in the CL.

When you put it that way, it's just unbelievable for one of the biggest club in the world.

Hoping Herrera will be fit. He hasn't been involved in recent squads - injured? Stressed by the whole match fixing thing? I thought he was coming back to form before his latest absence.

Not sure if Bailly is ready.

    Didn't he have surgery?

Fantastic that Pogba, Herrera and Rashford are back. Zlatan back in training is great news as well although not sure he will make it to matchday squad immediately for tomorrow's game.

Would like to see the same 433 as we played against Newcastle, I'm just not sure Pogba is up for it.

Dude, he is a 36 year old, with a heart condition.
I would not play him in any competitive game, which involves him running a lot.

We really just need everyone to be up for the game and play with a high intensity. It worked for City, Liverpool, and Spurs to get great results so far. We should win this game, or at least escape with a score draw even if we're not at our best.

Certain players need to perform better if they're selected.

There would be no excuses if we lose this one. They're not a great team.
They're shite. We have no excuses with players we have not to hammer them 4-0 on the day.

Will we though? You never know what United will turn up. The one that wins with the common 4 goals scored or the one that shits itself and forgets how to play football with one another.

If these players want to be taken serious now is the time to step up, on the biggest club stage in the world.

Agreed. Watched them a couple of times in the last few weeks. They've made hard work of the games they've won. Look very suspect at the back. They definitely won't be able to cope with our front line's movement if we run at them. I'd even go as far to say we're nailed on to get a penalty over the two legs.

Unfortunately we're not very good at defending set pieces so that could be the outlet they look to exploit. Expect Mourinho to select a 'tall' side to play against these.

They're crap in the league, but they've been good in cup competitions this year. They didn't lose to Liverpool over 2 games, they beat Atletico 2-1 & 3-1 over two Copa Del Ray legs - and are in the final of that competition vs. Barca... so this won't be a cake walk.

From what I heard on the grapevine, Sevilla are a VERY good team in Spain.
They apparently have lost only one home game, in about 35 are currently 5th in La Liga.
    This team is strong.

I agree that players need to play at a high tempo.
My issue is that I'm not sure if some of our players have this ability.
P.Jones for example, starts the game half asleep. If you pressure him in the first few minutes, you can probably get a shot on goal.

    Sevilla's form mean nothing.
