Ah yeah, fair enough. I suppose you could make that case but it'd be impossible to implement without adding "penalty box FKs" and rewriting the rules completely.I'm not arguing that it isn't a pen as per the rules. It's a foul in the box so it's a pen.
However I completely understand the view that a pen is mainly to compensate for a lost goal scoring opportunity due to a foul. That didn't happen here.
Fecking can of worms to ask refs to make such a determination though which is why we have the hard rule in place.
