quietest pre-match thread ever?
We have a home game against Palace on Sunday so I'm torn between playing youth and giving the first team some match practice before the EL final in this game.Play the youths. If we're going to lose, let's lose with giving them minutes.
Wait for the Palace one then. Will be a desert.quietest pre-match thread ever?
I don't think it should. No way we should be going into a final with one win in 6.Talk about a dead rubber...
Didn't Mourinho confirm in advance that Romero will start one of the last 2 League games?DDG didn't travel. Good bye, David.
He did. He also said that Pereira will probably make his PL debut. And there's no reason why DDG wouldn't have travelled as a sub GK, as he's done that all around Europe this season.Didn't Mourinho confirm in advance that Romero will start one of the last 2 League games?
Unless we're playing the final with that formation, I find it unwise to choose one just for this game.OK based on the pre-match conference, my line up would be
Romero
Bailly Smalling Jones
Tuanzebe Herrera Fellaini Darmian
Mata Rashford Mkhi
Hope Valencia isn't injured.
Valencia's had some small problem for weeks now, so he'll only play the matches he really has to. Interesting to see after the season whether rest is enough or if there'll be an operation of some kind.“I’m trying to get people to be the best they can be. This is a period in one week where I have to give one day off, give [Antonio] Valencia a day off. And, against Crystal Palace, two or three more [players], and against Southampton, two or three more. And that’s to try to arrive in the final in the best possible condition.”
Nah, just giving him a good rest ahead of the final.Hope Valencia isn't injured.
That's what I think too, but I'm always afraid he finally got really injured.Valencia's had some small problem for weeks now, so he'll only play the matches he really has to. Interesting to see after the season whether rest is enough or if there'll be an operation of some kind.
Don't think so. Surely he's not going to start against Crystal Palace, so that's a 13 days rest, just too much.Nah, just giving him a good rest ahead of the final.
For most players I agree and I expect a line-up similar to what we'll play in the final. But Valencia is...well, Valencia. I could be wrong but I tend to think Mourinho just wants to give him a good rest and will trust him to come straight back in for the final.Don't think so. Surely he's not going to start against Crystal Palace, so that's a 13 days rest, just too much.
I agree but what's the definition of 'too much rest'?Too much rest can result in losing match rhythm. Most of the XI should be players who'll start vs Ajax.
Yes.Difficult to predict the line up. Is Fellaini back?
ThanksYes.
Play the youths. If we're going to lose, let's lose with giving them minutes.
"Thank you Michael Oliver, if we'd gone to the FA cup semi it would've been a disaster."Ze presser.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't expect any youngster to be starting today. Besides Pereira and Tuanzebe, probably more 3 or so in the Crystal Palace one, though.I'll probably pass this game unless youngsters are going to play. No point in seeing Rooney playing tbf.
I don't expect many, too, but if 2 or 3 get their debut I may watch.Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't expect any youngster to be starting today. Besides Pereira and Tuanzebe, probably more 3 or so in the Crystal Palace one, though.
If Mourinho wants to stick with 4-3-3 today, maybe McTominay or Tuanzebe again in midfield could start, but I didn't like the experience, so I'm hoping he doesn't repeat it.I don't expect many, too, but if 2 or 3 get their debut I may watch.
Think Crystal Palace is the game we may land to many youngsters.
