I don't know why the caf has nominated Phil Jones as the man-of-the-match. He was the culprit for the Sunderland's goal IMO. He failed to clear the header (he didn't even jump FFS!), despite being in the area. For me, being the main CB of the team, he has to be more commanding. Yes he played well in the second half and was much better than Smalling even in the first half but didn't do enough to be the man of the match.
For me it is Juan Mata, even other than scoring the goal, he was probably our best attacking threat and could have had another goal if his touch had not deserted him at the key point. If Rooney and RVP had turned up, we could have won the game despite playing badly.
