Maguire and Shaw have to be dropped for this. I don't care who the alternatives are but there has got to be some punishment for their horrendous performances.
One of our problems is too many players with zero threat to their position regardless of how they perform. It would be ridiculous for certain players from the Leicester and Liverpool game to once again get a free ride for an atrocious performance.

We need to change players for this game. Some of the starters vs Pool and Atalanta must be benched (also because we play in CL in midweek), but we all know that except Varane and Matic he will not change.

Team I would like to see

    -------------------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------------
    Wan Bissaka-----------Lindelof----------Varane (if fit)------------Telles
    --------------------------------------------Matic--------------------------------------------
    -----------------------Van de Beek------------Mc Tominay-----------------------
    Lingard-------------------------------Cavani-------------------------------Sancho

    Team we will see :

    -------------------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------------
    Wan Bissaka-----------Maguire----------Varane (if fit)-------------Shaw
    -------------------------Mc Tominay----------Matic----------------------------------
    Sancho--------------------------------Bruno-----------------------------Rashford
    -------------------------------------------Ronaldo-----------------------------------------

No excitement for this one at all.

Hopefully will change once we get closer to the match but the last few weeks have just left me feeling a bit meh about it all.

Think i'm just going to take it 1 match at time, no point getting excited with this team.

Don't think Rashford deserves to be dropped, 2 goals 2 apps and coming back from injury, just think when we play Ronaldo he needs a few creators near him, Rashford should play with Cavani and Greenwood. I also think we need to play a back 3 and get the clean sheet, that has to be the most important thing, assuming Varane is fit I'd go with the below (Would rather drop Maguire but think he will be protected in a 3)

    DDG
    Lindelof Varane Maguire
    Dalot Matic DonnyTelles
    Sancho Cavani Rashford

Have put last week behind me and realise it’s always a new match. Very exited to watch how the players respond against Tottenham. A very good performance tomorrow may be a new start for Ole and the players. They likely needed a shocker in order to implement a long waited drastic change.

Ole have to emphasise better balance between “express your self” and “discipline”. He also have to find a new midfield formula. He has no other choice than to try something new and experiment a bit. That also include some sort of gambling.

We need to change the formation. The current one is failing big time. It will be a game of the deaf with the blind. We should win it but my prediction is a draw.

Lads, it's Spurs. And Ole Gunner Solskjaer's Manchester United. And a late kick off.

Worth the loss if he gets fired.

Rather now, than in another 2-3 games where we could be even further behind. Sorry Ole

3 things guaranteed in Life, Death, Taxes and Harry Maguire starting for Manchester United (under ole)

He really needs to try something new here, he can't keep thinking it's just going to click with the same out of form players,

I'd bring Donny & Matic into the fold for this, heavily pack that midfield and allow Donny to be the one that drives the ball up the pitch.

You've then got Greenwood, Cavani & Bruno to bring on later to freshen things up.

What time is the press conference? This might give us some indication of what team might be selected. Not sure why so many are dropping Bruno and Maguire, as he almost always plays both.

We conceded 9 in last 2 games, this time it should only be 2. If Varane is back that could help us.

    Kane is going to score.

Ole has to think beyond his favorites for this one. One of the traits of all failed managers we had is their inability to look beyond their favourites.

For LvG it was rooney, for moyes fellaini and for Jose again it was lukaku, matic and fellaini.

This has to stop if ole has to have any chance of avoiding the sack. Maguire needs to be dropped for Lindelof, matic needs to play with Fred with Mctominay dropping to the bench.

Up top also, if ole believes that martial or cavani will be more impactful than Ronaldo, then he should have the guts to do that.

This is truly a 'first real test' for ole, given that fact that if he loses this, he's almost certainly sacked

I’m almost stuck predicting an unchanged XI. Feels very Ole.

Utd are bookies favourites to win
Don’t find that that surprising. In the short term we know Spurs are just as bad, but medium and longer term United have clearly been superior. Again though, I have no idea what to expect tomorrow.

Exactly, would Ole drop Maguire, Shaw, Ronaldo, Bruno??

for me, I would drop everyone who started last weekend, except DDG.

    DDG

    Dalot Bailly Varane Telles

    VdB Matic

    Sancho Lingard Martial

    Cavani
I know it's too much, but let's see.

No, you don’t drop all of your best players. That’s not sensible or constructive, and would be a clear sign that the manager needs to be removed for a caretaker even.

De Gea would be the first person I drop to try and develop a more confident and comfortable defensive unit. He’s too limited in all aspects of his game by shot stopping. At some point we’ll move on from him and that will be for the betterment of the overall team.

Ole relents and finally plays VdB in a meaningful game. VdB knowing that his downing of tools would be the proverbial knife in Caesar's back.

    Ole - "et tu, Donny?"

Wouldn't be surprised if he turns to speed merchant Mata in this one. No matter what happens Ole is done as far as I'm concerned but the team selection for this one will be fascinating. We essentially have a manager on the brink who is under pressure to change his lineup and recall players he has ignored for a year or more to try to save his job.

I don't expect Ole to drop Maguire. The time to notice he wasn't ready was before or during the Leicester game. Clearly was not ready to face Liverpool still. Ole will keep playing him despite costing us lots of goals, next game he'll be good Ole will be thinking.

    McTom needs to be dropped.

Moura scored recently, probably another one to watch, has done well against us before

I don't know how I feel about this game.

My overwhelming feeling at the moment is I want Ole and his coaches out of the club above all else. They will never achieve anything meaningful.

He is a stubborn manager so I expect the same starting lineup pretty much, maybe dropping Greenwood for Sancho or bring Martial in. I suspect Varane may be back too.

I'm going with 1-1 and he will hail it as progress.

Agree with your team choice BUT I doubt we will see it. I would put McTominey in at right back..yeah I´m not joking. AWB is a huge liability in attacking sense and I do not rate him at all.

I hope its something like this:

    Ronaldo Rashford Sancho
    Fred Matic VdB
    Telles Varane Bailly AWB
    deGea
Fred on the left of midfield covers up for Ronaldo. Use Greenwood off the bench until he learns the defensive responsibilities.

Just watched the presser. Absolute tosh. Utd are going to get pumped tomorrow. Nuno might not be great but he did well for Wolves. Ole "we have to do this, we have to do that". Utter nonsence. 3-1 Spurs.

He certainly didn’t sound like a manager on the brink of the sack.
If you go into the Ole performance thread you'll see countless people saying he looked like he was going to cry, that he knows he's done for already and so on.

People read whatever they want into these pressers. Which is usually futile since it's all heavily coordinated by the club's PR division with all questions having to be pre-approved etc. (It's the same way at any club in the PL.)

Ole's good approach is primarily also his bad approach. He gives players time to play themselves well, if they've shown that they have a higher max level than a given game.

If it was me I'd put Shaw on the bench and give Telles licencse to go up and feed crosses to Ronaldo. Bench Maguire for Varane and let him partner with Lindelöf.

I'd prefer if both Matic and Donny started as well. McFred have not been good. The huge problem against Liverpool was the lackof defensive work from our wingers, leaving Fred to cover several Liverpool players alone through the middle. The team needs to adress that.

    Stupid comment:nono:

United have to impress the next month if Ole wants to keep his job. With other word it’s likely Ole will be sacked sooner or later independent of the result against Tottenham.

If we lose against Tottenham it’s definitely over for Ole, but I prefer we win every time. If we take game by game and win (impress) our next 5-10 matches, Ole has done a heroic job and off course deserve to keep the job. Is it likely? Probably not….

I cant accept this, no matter what I never want the team to lose.
I want Ole gone just like most on here.
Had this discussion here before, no matter how pissed off with United and I am pissed off with them , never want them to lose, do I expect them to win , in all honesty no I dont, I think Spurs will beat us.
