Can anyone think of a game where the result meant both managers got the sack

I wonder what odds are on double sacking? Might be worth a tenner.
A boring 0-0 I think would kill Ole and maybe Spurs would just take the hit on Nuno as well.

The problem Utd have with playing 5 at the back is the full backs aren't good enough to be wing backs. Shaw probably would be just about passable, but given the left hand side has been targeted recently as a weak point by the opposition to overload it would be worrying, and Wan-Bissaka just isn't a wing back.

Just try something different, and drop the underperformers:

    DDG
    Bailly Varane Lindelof
    Sancho Donny Matic Telles
    Bruno
    Cavani Ronaldo

genuinely waiting for the turning point in our season. Let’s hope it’s tonight. No excuses really, 7 days to prepare, coming off the back of a shocking result against Liverpool, players and manager both have points to prove.

thank the Lord Varane is back and he should walk back into the back 4.

    Start Sancho on the right.

    3-1 United

Can guarantee Ole will have been told to be pitch side more this game because of the perception of him on his iPad. Going to see a lot of generic hands on coaching:

    ‘Push up’
    ‘Shape’
    ‘Come on boys’
    ‘Second ball!’

    I'm going:
    De Gea
    Lindelof Maguire Varane
    AWB Mc Fred Shaw
    Bruno
    Rashy/Cavani Ronaldo

Can see him starting Cavani up top with Ronaldo as well tbh.

Defo going back 3 doesn't have the balls or know how to go back 4 after that Liverpool result, If he does go back 4 he's looking for the sack.

People don't want Conte though, you know not attacking enough, not cultural enough either.

    Prediction 2-0 United

Very low expectations today, against a shit Spurs side. One thing Spurs do well is get forward, and no doubt we will be wide open off the ball, with no pressing and the team out of position. With Pogba suspended, we might well se McFred again, leaving gaps all over the place.

Sorry to be so negative, but I will be surprised if we have recovered psychologically from the scale of last weekend's battering. Bad times.

    United 1-3 Spurs

    Prove me wrong United.

Dropping Maguire would mean admitting he's been shit and brought back into the team too soon

    I wpuld go with:

    DDG
    AWB-Lindelof-Varane-Telles
    Matic-VdB
    Sancho-Fernandes-Rashford
    Ronaldo

    subs: Cavani, Lingard, McT/Fred

Ole will propably go with max 1 change...
This. Maguire and Shaw need dropping for their own good.

Greenwood is great but Sancho is better defensively on that wing against the danger man Son and Reguilon who likes to get forward a lot.

However, I think we're kidding ourselves if we think McFred's not gonna start this.

Having a hard time predicting this one. I do expect there to be an improvement in performance, and I really don't rate Spurs at all this season. I have a feeling we'll get a narrow victory, so I've gone with a 2-1 to United.

    I would go with:

    DDG
    AWB-Lindelof-Varane-Telles
    Matic-VdB
    Sancho-Fernandes-Rashford
    Ronaldo

    subs: Cavani, Lingard, McT/Fred

Ole will propably go with max 1 change...
I'd like to see this lineup. Curious to see how the midfield would do and there is more than enough there in that side to beat Spurs.

One of Linguard or Donny starts today. You can’t reward the same midfield starters from Sunday

Its difficult in the current circumstances...BUT lets try to enjoy the ride, we have no clue what will happen, but its far to negative at the minute and its killing all the enjoyment.

Gimme Cavani please...wouldn't mind seeing Lingard either.

It’s actually a really hard prediction today, so not gonna gues But I’d play the following.

    DDG

    AWB
    VARANE
    MAGUIRE
    SHAW

    VDB
    FRED

    SANCHO
    BRUNO
    RASHFORD

    CAVANI

Really hard to pick between Ronaldo and Cavani and realistic there’s probably too much pressure to start Ronaldo, I think no matter what the line up will be hugely under scrutiny and Ole is in a no win position (unless they go out there and win I guess ).

Would also be tempting to leave out Maguire and Shaw as they have had shockers this season but long term that’s probably our undisputed back 4? So I don’t see why you’d play the alternative (although saying that it would be tempting to put Lindelof back there for Maguire), and wouldn’t argue with anyone who wanted to drop them).

McTominay has been shocking all season and VDB deserves a chance, really want to see how him and Fred get on as a pair, Fred’s energy is vital and he’s good at winning the ball back when he’s on song.

Two really poor teams that are lucky to have as many points as do have.

Losing manager probably gets the boot, so maybe a draw to prolong the inevitable. Only have to look at Leicester today to see how we make teams look better than they are.

Maguire and Mctominay should be dropped, but expect both will start. Expecting back 5 and park the bus, hit on the counter.

Are we going to see Ole furiously waving his hands about again like he’s conducting an orchestra and the players staring back at him in utter bemusement?

I believe we’re going to win this, and I’m not sure how I feel about that if it were to happen.

On the one hand a win is clearly what we need, but we definitely do not need Olé given more time when clearly he doesn’t cut it at this level.

My Arsenal friend is for some reason suddenly keen to watch this as a group

We need a win. A good performance would be great but getting that win will be crucial.

Ole still doesn't know his best team so feck knows what he'll play but I'd go with something different.

    Cavani
    Lingard Bruno Sancho
    Matic Fred
    Shaw Maguire Varane Wan-Bissaka
    De Gea

If we don’t win today, Arsenal are officially above us in the table after 10 games. The same goes for Spurs. How utterly embarrassing Ole Solskjær is.

I would love to see a change in team selection but I doubt it. That might be one reason for the poor form. There is not a genuine competition for places even though the squad is large.

I think this game could go either way, very difficult to call. Both teams need a win and it might be a bit of luck that decides it.

Not sure what to take from the game. We win, papers over the cracks; lose, just tells use what we already know; draw, all of the above. This is going to be a long and slow death. Ole will be in the job for at least this season until they know Pochs availability. I think they suspect he may be out of a job by then!!!
