Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly referred to simply as Tottenham or Spurs (and nicknamed The Lilywhites), are a professional football club based in Tottenham, London. The Hotspur Football Club was formed in 1882 by a group of school boys, mostly aged 13 to 14, from Tottenham Grammar School and Saint John's Middle Class School who were members of the Hotspur Cricket Club formed two years earlier. Initially, the boys that formed Hotspur Football Club played games between themselves and friendly matches against other local clubs. The team entered their first cup competition in the London Association Cup, and won their first competitive match on 17 October 1885. The club turned professional on 20 December 1895, and in the summer of 1896 they were admitted to the Division One of the Southern League. On 2 March 1898, the club also became a limited company, the Tottenham Hotspur Football and Athletic Company.

Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960-61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners' Cup. In 1967, Spurs won the FA Cup for a third time in the 1960s. In the 1970s Tottenham won the League Cup on two occasions and were the inaugural winner of the UEFA Cup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies. In the 1980s Spurs won several trophies: the FA Cup twice, FA Community Shield and the UEFA Cup in 1984. In the 1990s the club won the FA Cup and the League Cup. When they won the League Cup once more in 2008, it meant that they had won a major trophy in each of the last six decades .

Tottenham supporters have rivalries with several clubs, mainly within the London area. The fiercest of these is with north London rivals Arsenal (with matches between them termed the North London derby). They also share notable rivalries with fellow London clubs Chelsea and West Ham United. Tottenham play their home games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Mazraoui - De Ligt - Yoro
    Dalot - Ugarte - Bruno - Dorgu
    Amad - Zirkzee - Garnacho

If they didn’t have so many players out, this would be ugly. Play like we did for the first hour tonight and it’s a guaranteed loss, that’s for sure.

If we play wing backs in their correct positons, we'll win this game comfortably. But we won't so expect a loss.

    I truly believe that this setup is our best hope for goals(can't continue playing so pragmatic, doesn't help our shit concentration at the back anyways...);

    Onana
    Maz-DeLigt-Yoro
    Amad-Ugarte-Bruno-Dorgu
    Zirkzee-Garnacho
    Højlund

    Onana
    Dalot Yoro Mazraoui
    Amad Ugarte Bruno Dorgu
    Zirzkee Garnacho
    Hojlund
I’d like to see that back 3, more pace so we should in theory be able to play a much higher line and I’d like to see Yoro as the centre one.

Mainoo has been very poor this season so should be used as a bench option.

Immovable shit meets the unstoppable shit. Should be fun. Or miserable.

They've already beaten us twice this season, will be 3 out of 3.

    Onana
    Mdl mag yoro
    Amad ugarte Bruno dorgu
    Zirkzee Garnacho
    Hojlund

MU/BF midfield scares me, but lack of better options. RH needs someone else who can do the hold up play stuff, width from Amad and garnacho, question is if dorgu can play the inverted/underlapping role

8 full days to rest and then prepare for this game. Amorim's been mentioning lack of trainings a lot and now he'll have more time for that.

    GK: Onana
    CBs: Mazraoui-Maguire-Shaw
    Midfield: Amad-Ugarte-Collyer-Dorgu
    Number 10s: Bruno-Garnacho
    Striker: Zirkzee

Shaw starting a game after being out for so long seems unlikely but maybe Amorim will be desperate for a left-footed CB there. He'll probably rather go with de Ligt in RCB and not Mazraoui, but we'll see. Could be Dalot at RWB and Amad at R10 (then it's Bruno besides Ugarte) but just hope it's Dorgu at LWB and not Dalot. Garnacho deserves a start over Mainoo and Zirkzee deserves a start over Hojlund.

Tottenham should have at least several players back for this one and think it would be especially important for their whole style of play if Vicario and van de Ven start. So I'd fancy our chances against Spurs side that lost last night, but could be improved Spurs for this one.

    De ligt Maguire Mazraoui
    Dalot Ugarte Bruno Dorgu
    Amad Garnacho
    Zirkzee

Left back at left back and right back at right back please. Zirkzee up top too.

Just want to get to the end of the season at this rate and bring in about 7/8 players in the summer.

The “You’re getting sacked in the morning” cup final

Feeling a lot less pressure about the next three games, all being league games, and starting with this lower mid table battle.

The biggest thing for me for the rest of the month is the FA Cup draw on Monday. Really hope we can get one of the winners of the non-PL ties having had two PL opponents so far.

As regards this fixture, it would be nice if we could start getting some positive performances and results going in the league, but it isnt' vital that it starts here or anything.

It was more important that we got the job done in our three recent cup matches - which we did, winning all three. Now let's see if we can any league momentum going with these three matches against three of the few teams actually below us in the league.

Always tough to call when two completely hapless clubs meet. I think they've got a better chance of winning than we do.

If we lose this, Amorim's job should be on the line against Everton.

Yeah, both teams are shit but they are a better attacking force.

Yup. This would be my first choice team. Another good alternative would be:

    GK
Maz - De Ligt - Yoro
    Amad - Ugarte - Bruno - Dorgu
    Mainoo - ST - Garnacho

The wing back positions are the key to this entire formation. They both must play well for this formation to look palatable because they are the ones providing all the width.

We seem to be better away for some reason. Can see this being an high scoring game. Maybe a 3-2 to someone.

Casemiro is out of favour. Can’t see him starting any games this season unless injuries occur.
