    Romero
    Dalot - Bailly - Jones - Shaw
    Gomes - Garner
    Pereira - Mata - Chong
    Greenwood

Subs: Laird - Williams - Lingard

This lot should do a job, Tranmere 0-3 United.

Hopefully Angel starts, given that we are riddled with injuries. Though I suspect that Lingard will start as a number 10 and Angel will come on as a sub and get 10 minutes on the wing.

Just bumped into my mate on the street who's from that area, big Tranmere fan. He's going to the game, reckons their pitch is the worst of all time.
Did he proclaim how bad their pitch is, with pride? :D
Luckily, we are not a "passing" side. We hit on the counter and can also do long ball, so I don't think it'll hurt us much.
Now if MCFC were playing, they'd find it hard going.

I wouldn't say pride, but definitely with a sense of purpose. Kind of like getting into a fight and saying to the other guy beforehand "I bite, by the way".

Not proud of it, but something to bear in mind.

The pitch resembles a war zone. If we play Jones get ready for a Sgt Elias from Platoon style run by him before he collapses injured

    De Gea

    Bissaka - Lingard - Maguire - Williams

    Fred - Matic

    Pogba

    Sancho Haaland Rashford

    That almost made me cry.

Play a weaker team (if that's possible) and this may end badly....

I’m almost curious as to what the spin would be if we lost this. This is not me saying I hope we lose to get Ole fired, I don’t actually believe he will get sacked if he loses the next 5 games in a row.

I want to win just to have a small glimmer of happiness in this god awful season but I would not be at all surprised if we lose this.

I reckon it'd go something like this: Boys gave everything they've got. Sometimes football is just about fine margins. We have to move on now and focus on getting a result in the next game.

Considering the state of our squad, I'd actually rest Greenwood and try Ramazani up front here.

He's missed the last two U23 games but I don't think he's injured.

How many times this season are we going to be playing on unacceptably bad surfaces? I think I would actually have preferred Watford just to avoid playing on a terrible overused pitch with a squad that's beyond stretched.

Would like to see loads of changes to the squad, which can only mean youth.

Need a decent pitch to play effective counter attacking football plus you need the opposition not to park the bus for the majority of the game.

United are more of a pass it sidesways and backwards team than long ball. Crab football I think it's best described.

We don't need Maguire for this game. I heard the pitch is terrible, may be we shouldn't play him to avoid injury. Same goes to Fred, the guy deserves rest.

    Romero
    Dalot Lindelof Bailly Shaw
    Garner Matic
    Lingard Gomes Pereira
    Greenwood

I would like Gomes, Garner & Greenwood to start. I mean come on, surely it won't hurt to start three of them against league one side that is probably tired after playing against Watford few days ago.

He mentioned in the presser that Bailly might be suited to the pitch because his come through a few reserve games where the pitches aren't of Premier League standard. Hope he uses him and give Maguire a break.

Fred also needs a rest as the guy's played non-stop for while now.

Our U21 played against them in EFL cup, lost 3-2 with Chong scoring both goals.
The team that played them was

    Kovar
    Laird Mengi Bernard Devine
Galbraith Gomes Traore Mellor Chong Helm

If this lot can lose 3-2 away, just replace Mellor, Helm, Traore, Galbraith, Bernard, Devine, Mengi, and Kovar with Greenwood, Garner, Romero, etc...

I would like us to completely rest Fred,Maguire, AWB and Martial for this game. Not even on bench.

May as well go ‘full strength’ and play all the kids against City on Weds in the dead rubber semi final

Avoid playing Maguire but play football's second most injury prone CB instead!?

I’d rest the entire first team. Still a lot of the PL season to go, and we know from LVG that winning a cup won’t save your job if we finish outside the top 4. Forget the cups.

    I'd go with:
    ---------------Romero
    Dalot ---Lindelof --Bailly --Shaw
    ------------Garner -Pereira
    -----------------Gomes
    -------Mata-----------------Chong
    --------------Greenwood

All the others are in dire need of rest.

Look at like this. Every game is a win-win game. If we win great and if we lose Molde manager is closer to sack. Just relax and watch the game.
